  1. Really sad news. Condolences to the Warwick family. One of the true entertainers on the stock car track, and even though his roof colour belied this, he was a true "super star".
  2. Sad news. My condolences to the Thompson family.
  3. Thanks Fubar, fingers crossed. Brill to see BRISCA on TV in any case. Any thoughts on covering the bigger Autograss meetings next year...there's always fast racing plus "thrills and spills" in that...it's not called "Motor Racing's Best Kept Secret" for nothing.
  4. Condolences to the family at this sad time.
  5. Condolences at this sad time.
  6. Looks promising for "Belle Vue's Helter Skelter" event!....some of you may remember the old 'Vue and their last races of a meeting being called "Helter Skelter" for any car fit to run! Let's go for it and make it memorable.
  7. I'm just disappointed that if the iconic "Belle Vue" raceway is closing at the end of the season, I thought there would be more support from the F1s as they were the formula we watched originally. Would be a shame if they went out on a whimper instead of a bang. I know modern times and all that....perhaps I'm too old and remember the "glory days" too much!
  8. Only 23 F1s? How many SUVs? Worth going do you reckon?
  9. "With the Vue set to close possibly, as we all know (I really hope it doesn't) I'd love to see big driver support for this great stock car track". Exactly my view, Matt, as I previously mentioned. Plenty of support from the other formulae...are F1s now supporting them?? Hope Belle Vue have something up their sleeve for later in the season.
  10. Just hope Belle Vue's stock car life doesn't end on a whimper!
  11. Come on...let's have some more F1s...not only is this a celebration year, but could (sadly) see the demise of the great "Belle Vue" era. I hope there may be a big celebration event later in the season at the 'Vue???
  12. MANY THANKS TO ALL INVOLVED IN SUPPLYING THE RACE RESULTS THIS SEASON...MUCH APPRECIATED
  13. #385....remember Wilf Hargreaves using this number in the 60's. He ran a car salesroom in Stockport up the road from where I lived. He said he used to hate Belle Vue for some reason....having said that, he was still a regular at Hyde Road! Can't recall him reaching star grade??
  14. I think the "Doctor's Note" is way out of order and prejudices anyone with medical problems/eating disorders. "Nipping out to the car" is easier said than done for anyone with mobility problems, no matter what the distance may be. Burger vans, chippy vans seem to be the order of the day (still), but surely in this day and age there are caterers that provide a suitable alternative to grease. A more health concious catering van (in addition to the burger vans) would bring a bit more revenue to the promoters too?? More choice. The weather at the moment is hot, therefore free water would not go amiss at the stadium...thought this was a necessity? I do agree that common sense should prevail regarding amount of food taken into the stadium, and no alcohol. However, the food policing should be lenient towards soft drinks and water. I realise Rob has done a tremendous job revamping the stadium, but hope he doesn't spoil things with draconian measures. People are humans, not cattle...oh, and they pay money to get in....less revenue if people are put off.
  15. Thanks to the results team....sounds like I missed a great meeting.
  16. Looks to be a good'un. All we need are the bangers to provide the "guaranteed action"!
  17. I suppose the meeting will REALLY start at 3.15 with the Ministox (or earlier)??
  18. I'm in complete agreement about the Ministox brigade...again Kingls Lynn mentioned the "pre-meeting ministox race" on the forum...are they not meeting-worthy?? The minis can be just as entertaining as their larger counterparts, so please don't treat them as programme fillers!
  19. Looks a good entry for Kings Lynn. "Pre-meeting Ministox race"...again, are the Ministox not taken seriously? I thought they were part of the meeting!
  20. Blimey, never knew about the French side of it in the olden days!! Think there were a couple of French drivers in a World Final in the '60s...think one was called Guy Curvall or something similar...I recall the car made a heck of a noise! .......my memory still half works! LOL
  21. Were Guillame and Chevalier their real names, or were they made to sound "continental" for publicity purposes? Two overseas drivers at the first ever meeting??
  22. Great looking opener...will try my best to be there. Just one question...will the first race REALLY be 3.30pm or are more races due beforehand like what happened last year???
