  1. How long has Phoebe Wainman been in F1? Will she be the next Jayne Beane I wonder?
  2. Totally agree (again)...the Minis can be as entertaining (more at times?) than the F1s, so to "ignore" their first races is a crime...they may be our future F1 drivers so should be promoted likewise. As a spectator, I pay my money to see everything on offer....if I missed a race or two because of misrepresented start times, I'd want at least a partial refund! I bet there'd be an outcry if a football match started half an hour before the advertised kick-off time. Ducks for cover. Ged
  3. Looking at the booking list I notice Geoff Nickolls...how long has he been racing? May be getting him mixed up with someone else, but seem to recall the name from several moons ago?
  4. If only Belle Vue could get near those figures!.....
  5. Not too many formulae at all. It's a holiday Monday after all so a good full afternoon/evening out provided. Great to see plenty of entries (credit where credit is due). I think you should add saloon stox and rebels too!! :chortle: Roll on Monday
  6. Fair point (again) about start times...we don't ALL just go for the F1s, but go to see a mix of racing. Ministox drivers are our future and should be given the respect they deserve. Entry list looking a little healthier regarding the bigguns...and so it should for a premier stadium.
  7. I'm not trying to talk the sport down, it's just that Buxton and Belle Vue seem to suffer from lesser F1 bookings which is a shame.
  8. Noticed that even though Buxton is a WQ round on Sunday, there's still only c30 cars booked-in. Is the North West suffering from lack of driver interest?
  9. Didn't seem to matter years ago whether a meeting was an "important one" e.g. a WQ...there was still a healthy entry. I recall at Belle Vue (Hyde Road) many moons ago, meetings were sponsored by car, cigarette and beer companies amongst others. In the former case during the interval (!) there would be a parade of the latest cars from that evening's particular sponsor. Memories again...
  10. Autograss...yep, maybe a long day...and only £8 to get in (kids under 16 free) at Leewood. Anyway back to F1...I, too, wonder why Belle Vue only get late 20's in F1 entries. Is it because of the fence which I thought was going to be arnco completely??...or something else? Shame as it's a decent stadium.
  11. Why advertise a meeting to start at 4pm when the first race (Ministox) is at 3.30pm? I would have thought most spectators would want to watch everything and get their moneysworth?? It's as if the Ministox "don't matter", but they are, perhaps, the F1 stox drivers of the future.
  12. WITH ALL THE DOOM AND GLOOM OVER THE WINTER MONTHS, WE NEED A GOOD ENTRY OF f1S AT THE 'VUE ON SUNDAY TO MAKE THE SEASON OPENER A CRACKER AND TAKE OUR MIND OFF THINGS....COME ON LADS (AND LASSES)...GET BOOKED IN!
  13. Great to see several ladies joining the F1 stox formula. Have we some new "Jayne Beans" in the pipeline?

  15. You didn't REALLY think the #2 car would appear on a Belle Vue list, did you??!! It really is a shame....and to think I used to support his dad! GED
  16. HI! It's been throwing it down here in Stockport (7 miles from the 'Vue) for the last half hour or so. I've looked at the BBC weather on the internet..."Sunny Intervals"!! Local TV has just said "Weather has been disappointing today but will remain rather cold and "damp"!! BBC weather on the TV says that in the West it is looking better than the East. Rain will decrease this afternoon with chance of some sun and showers......... ......so in other words it's a lottery!! Just as I finish typing this post, the rain has become lighter and the sky a little brighter....don't know what to wear for the best. However, I'll be in the stands, so at least I'll stay dry sporting my Leewood Autograss T-Shirt! Racing could be a lottery tonight tooooo! GED
