  1. For once Dave we agree on something ! As has been said by Nic, you have a chance to see your personal faves possibly 4 times. The Whites, Yellows & Dutch still get their usual race to themselves. So they have the possibilty of racing ( & winning) 5 times.
  2. Great News to know this well in advance . Plans can now be made. Holidays from work etc. But be warned. You may have opened up a can of worms . Soon you'll be questioned on :- Booking Lists Chair policy number of sandwiches policy (on white or brown) Pricing, in advance & on the day the list could go on ....................... As of this moment, the link isn't working. Will try again later Cheers for the info
  3. Thanks so much Nic & Jane for giving your time, all weekend. Jane, hope yer Yorkshires rose, and didn't go all limp ! Well done Tom on winning the European title. Last night at Skeg, i saw a much more mature controlled Tom in action. He was also very humble on the mic, when interviewed.
  4. Up to very recently, this semi was scheduled to be on Shale. Probably has nothing to do with why Luke has chosen to spectate in the USA, but could have been a factor when the Stateside trip was planned. I'm over the moon that John Dowson has some quality wheels to contest this semi.
  5. So Tom missed one year, last year !! He punctured in the Semi, then got banned after the meeting. He couldn't therefore take part in the Consolation Semi
  6. As it stands right now, and we all know things can change, the weather forecast for Saturday around Lynn, is excellent. Hope it stays that way for all concerned Good Luck to all the drivers.
  7. Sorry this has dragged on. It only started with me explaining why i won't buy in advance from KL, based on my personal experience. As it happens Bryan, i bought both tickets on my card. As the Promoter has said, the ticket office persons are not authorised to do refunds. And as Philip points out, i did what anyone would have done, sold it on. It was still humiliating to do this (the looks on faces as they had seen me turned away from the ticket office), and so pointless If Promoters aren't bothered about leaving the customer satisfied, so be it . I've learned from it. By the way, my mate hasn't been to Kings Lynn ever since . And before some wise guy comes along, yes, his loss
  8. Thanks for that info I do however think that a certain amount of Common Sense could be applied at times. My mate unfortunately was unable to attend on the actual day , literally on the day. I thought the simplest thing to do, to avoid all the hastle of phone calls, posting, whatever, was to bring the ticket to the meeting As everyone in the queue was buying tickets for the event i had a surplus ticket for, it would have made sense to just pass my ticket onto the next person. Seems logic and common sense doesn't always prevail though. Anyway, it had a happy ending. Someone got a discounted ticket buying my spare one.
  9. I have to disagree with you Colin I'm going to an event in Leeds next Tuesday, and in the terms and conditions of purchase, it says this : "If you are unable to use your tickets we offer an exchange or credit service. Tickets can be exchanged for another performance of the same production or for a credit voucher valid for six months." The same applied to a music concert I attended last year in Sheffield. As this Sport is in need of keeping it's dwindling customers, I believe a certain amount of Good Will would go a long way.
  10. Greetings Philip & Fraggle I have a reason for not buying in advance The last time i was at KL with advance tickets, my mate couldn't attend. I approached the ticket office in a queue. there was a queue behind me of people waiting to buy tickets. I explained that my mate couldn't attend and asked if i could have a refund on the ticket i was happily waving. NO , came the answer, you have to send it back ...... Blah Blah Blah etc etc I said you can just sell it to the next person ........................... NO (followed by lame excuses) - Sorry but it was just plain ridiculous So, i asked people in the queue if anyone would buy my spare ticket. Some thought i was a con man , off my trolley even (jury's out on that) Someone did buy my ticket which i sold at a reduced price , and we entered together. So, no advance tickets for me at KL ............................. rodders out x
  11. Thank You Trackstar for all the hype But there's something missing - (or i just can't find it) - How much is admission on the night ?
  12. At this rate, we could see a 3 heat F1 meeting, Saturday at least. Fantastic if that happened. ................ almost Coventry - like and before anyone says, I know, ........................ providing we can see
  13. What Bryan, for £20 ?? I was hoping for something more like at Northampton. In any case, I'd be scared you might appear with that video camera and poke a Mic in my ................ Cheers Richard. your morning after observation is a Welcome surprise
  14. Maybe someone who has done the camping option at Skeggy can answer this : Once the stadium is closed up Saturday evening, are there still toilet facilities available to us Campers ?
  15. Thankfully not ! Nice to see that Kyle Gray will be back in action For me, it's a dream tar line up. Will be watching young Sworder's progress with great interest. Carl, your eyes didn't let you down. The burger, the bun and the fries tasted worse than they looked. Asha has spoken, but she might like to ensure the providers of the catering (who presumably pay Team Skeggie ?) can serve food fit to be eaten. I actually like good Burgers & sausages, but what was in that tray was nothing like a good Burger. As Linky says, hopefully Common Sense will prevail. I'm sure the whole team will get there in the end. Should be a crackin' meeting
  16. It's reasonably well known, that folk of Pension age are in general, quite well off these days. They are more likely to own their own homes outright , and be in receipt of both Government Pension & a Private Pension These people can possibly afford to go to every meeting, don't have to pay for child admissions, or worry about any budgeting whatsoever. But with disposable income getting tighter for familes, these days, we do need to look at ways of not driving away people who could well be the future supporters of this Marmite Sport. So to refer to them as a bunch of 'whatever' isn't very constructive debate. As far as i'm aware, this is a discussion forum. Promoters might actually learn something from taking on board what's actually happening out there.
  17. Hi Vic. Just pointing out for you (not moaning btw) that Asha hasn't posted anything on this forum. There's been an interesting discussion within this thread, regarding affordability of attending meetings, and Jane (for example) mentioning how she couldn't have afforded to take her 5, if she hadn't done them a packed lunch. I'm not sure why you feel the need to make such remarks about anyone that doesn't find it as easy as others to attend meetings. Should we ask families and the bunch of "####" to stay away perhaps ? Ken Pond - Believe it or not, this thread is actually a preview to this weekend's Skeggy meeting ! Diversity is good. Nice to have something different than just car numbers to read about , and folk moaning about people moaning. (actually they're people having a discussion)
  18. I always take hygenic roll Ozzy - cover all the bases i say. The option of nipping out to indulge in the forbidden fruits, is just a suggestion for anyone who can't afford , or who don't want the rubbish on offer at the grease vans inside. I can't remember seeing any healthy options at any Brisca venue ever - though maybe someone has stumbled upon such a place ?. Until such time, food should not be refused entry. Totally understand the alcohol policy. I'm worried after this discussion, that we may need to get a Doctor's note to go out to the car
  19. Kingpin is right. For those that can't be spending mega bucks in the stadium, on top of entry tickets and ever increasing travel costs, here's the answer. Whilst there's nothing happening on track, or a Formula that isn't your bag, nip out to the car and indulge yerself on whatever you like. Might be inconvenient to a degree, but gets a result. The ones who happily spend their dough in the stadium will always do so. As they should. Those who don't want the rubbish food on offer (and i speak from experience at my last Speak promoted meeting) won't buy anything they don't want to. No matter what the rules say. 'They' can't restrict what you bring in your own mode of transport. Personally, the Bar prices seem ok. But the food on offer is overpriced and should come with a Health Warning.
  20. Cheers Nic That's a fantastic result for young Frankie But, Well Done to the main man , Stuart Smith
  21. Thanks team Slightly baffled as to how 555 got 4th when he was over a lap down with 8 to go !
  22. And who said Romance is dead !!!! Nice one Billy - really made me giggle that . How many tracks can boast that you have to cross a main road to get to the pits ! I was a young un then (as opposed to young at heart now) and Nelson was always a right good laugh. Jack Ollerenshaw was one of my first heroes. Car wasn't exactly 'designer' stuff, but he was exactly what stock cars was all about then. Actually that 100 car pictured was prettier than Jack's car !
  23. Thanks so much team for the results. Am over the moon for the whole Sworder family that Charlie got points in a heat, and the final on his debut. Gutted i missed this meeting as it's one of my favourites of the year.
  24. Thanks team . Top notch as always ..............
