  5. The last few months I've been a bit too busy to do the F1stockcars.com Points & Stats properly, and it seems that some errors have crept in while I've been slacking. Just wondering if anyone fancies helping me out by checking through the results on the site compared to the official ones? The results I've got are on the Results Page Or I can send you my data file if you prefer - it might / might not be easier to read than the web page. It's a plain text file that opens in Notepad or similar. There's also some names and home towns missing on the driver index page - again, anyone that can supply the missing info, much appreciated. Ta.

  8. Agreed! Great job, Jane amd Michael.
  9. Graham Blundell emailed this photo, which I completely missed at the time Pauline Smith, winner of the ladies race on 8 July 1972 with John Park. She is the sister of Johns partner in Longton Motor Salvage, Barry Smith.
  10. Press release SKEGNESS SPEEDWEEKEND – LAST CHANCE TO PREPARE FOR BRISCA F1 WORLD FINAL. There are no major titles on offer, or World Championship points, and despite being the support formula to the Saloon stock cars and BriSCA F2s, a huge turnout of BriSCA F1s is expected for the start of the Skegness Speedweekend this Saturday. Having originally limited car turnout to 48 cars, Skegness have upped the number to a whopping 56 with other drivers planning to book in placed on the reserve list. With the World Final at Skegness in September, the Speedweekend will be the last chance for drivers to discover a prime set-up for the big event. And no matter where the drivers line up for the biggest race of the year, it was proven by Lee Fairhurst the last time the race was held at the venue in 2012 that a driver can start at the very back of the grid and still win the gold roof. The majority of the sport’s big-hitters will be in attendance this weekend, including World Champion Nigel Green, who sensationally won the UK Open at the last meeting at the Raceway in May. Green was making his first appearance of the season at the UK Open and on the Saturday night made his presence felt with a number of huge hits, notably on Mat Newson in the final. The force of the impact was big enough to move the engine forward and damage the block but he was still able to return to the track on Sunday, where he made up large swathes of ground in the UK Open itself, and was third entering the last lap behind long-time leader and reigning champion Harry Steward and Luke Davidson. Davidson went for a last-bender on Steward with both clattering the fence. Steward was out of the race on the spot while Green was able to take the shortest route, hugging the kerb, to snatch the lead and the victory, with Alex Wass taking a fine second place ahead of Lee Fairhurst. Davidson recovered to finish fourth. Green will also be taking part in the Teng Tools World Champions Challenge (3pm) alongside Saloon World Champion Daniel Parker and BriSCA F2 World Champion Wim Petters when all three drive each other’s car with the accumulated fastest lap times winning the challenge. Stuart Smith Jnr will arrive at Skegness with the chequered flag colours emblazoned on his roof after his dramatic British Championship win at Belle Vue, along with the silver for his National Points victory last season. Smith Jnr has struggled on Tarmac this year with the new tyres regulations and admits will be making a radical change to set-up this weekend to hopefully rediscover his Tarmac form. Tom Harris, who was a dominant force of the Tarmac in Scotland last month, returns to Skegness after a disappointing and frustrating British Championship meeting, in which he was unable to make it out in time to line up for the race itself after a last-minute rear axle change. “We changed the axles and was fired up ready to go,” said Harris. “As I reversed realised there was a loud knocking noise – the rear axle had different brackets on and the propshaft was knocking, so we made a few adjustments drove to the track gate and was locked out.” Tarmac specialist Davidson will also be hoping for a good run after impressing at the UK Open meeting, while Steward will want to make amends after being forced out of the UK Open with the chequered flag in sight. Start time on Saturday night is 5pm with the first race at noon on Sunday.
  11. Teng Tools World Champion's Challenge 3pm on Sat 14th July.
  12. He races in Holland as B197, so I guess that technically over here he should be HB197 ... In general, any racing number in the UK that starts with a letter means it's a driver registered overseas - I don't think there's any specific rule as to what the letter has to be.
  13. Agreed. Although I thought that after the meeting they should have opened the exit closest to the stadium so people could drive out that way, instead of having to turn round and go back out the way they came in. Maybe just an oversight, or maybe we'd already gone before they did it. But overall, I was very impressed with the changes and improvements that have been made. Not sure about the "Bridge Over The River Kwai" though
  14. Latest information from Skegness Stadium.
  15. I probably spend as much in the supermarket on stuff to eat during meetings as I'd spend at the stadium catering outlets anyway. It's not the cost, it's the quality. For example, the steak burgers from the Bull Shed Grill at Stoke and BV are very nice, and I've no problem parting with £4.50 for one, but some of the considerably less expensive burgers at other stadia are awful. Probably more profitable on a per sale basis, but they aren't getting repeat business. I checked out the food outlets on my visit to Skeg a few weeks ago, and I didn't see anything that made me think, "Yes, I definitely want to eat one of those".
  16. There's no need for name calling or bad language. Let's keep it civilised, eh?
  17. From Skegness Stadium NEW FOOD AND DRINK POLICY I feel the need to make a statement to address the level of hysteria caused by our new policy. I must say I cannot really understand your response?! This is a picture of a sign that has been outside the Stadium turnstiles for a great many years in fact their are several of them clearly stating that only food and drink bought on the premises may be consumed on the premises, which means the new policy is actually more lenient that before. To the people who have not read the policy simply the irrational misinformed comments we are not forcing anyone to eat the food at the Stadium we are saying you may bring in a sandwich and fruit items, salad etc that we do not sell and of course baby and toddler food, please people let’s have some common sense. If you need a specific diet for medical reasons we shall also accommodate your needs. We will not tolerate cooler boxes, Picnic bags, trolley’s with enough food and drink to feed your family for a week nor will we allow alcohol or glass bottles onto the premises. We do not own the food outlets onsite therefore if you buy 1 burger or 10 it makes no difference to us, the difference is the thousands of pounds we have to waste disposing of your rubbish left behind when we could be using that money on the Stadium. To the people who posted comments like greed, greed, greed and vote with your feet don’t go well done give yourselves a pat on the back! Since buying the Stadium such a short time ago rather than try and recoup some of the money we had to pay for it which would take many years my family decided to invest in it and in doing so the sport of Oval racing to the tune of around 600,000 on improvements at this point, money that we did not need to spend at all. When you invest in the sport what we have then please feel free to keyboard warrior us until then your misinformed, nasty, negative comments are not welcome. Last week I attended the cinema it cost £23 for just over an hours entertainment plus £15 for two drinks and two snacks, I did not see a cooler box or picnic bag in sight. Today I attended a 1940’s event the carpark cost £10! And was two miles away, no one was in uproar On the way back we called at farmer Browns for ice cream and low and behold the sign outside said - Only food and drink purchased here to be consumed here. Our prices are inline with prices in Skegness town centre in fact our alcohol is cheaper than many establishments. To the race fans that called my family greedy please don’t worry we will not be making a profit for a very, very long time as we spent to much improving the place for you! But boy how I wish we hadn’t bothered To all the people who have emailed, sent cards of encouragement and thanks that understand the amount of time, money and effort we have made thank you, it is very much appreciated. Thanks Asha Speak
  18. I went to the banger meeting in June and there was no problem taking food in. I didn't see any bags getting checked either. As has been said, it's not actually a new policy, it's been like this for a while, and at a lot of tracks. I think what's upset people is the way that it is worded.
  19. Interesting story on BBC News this morning. BBC News | Belfast woman wins £2,000 diabetes discrimination case https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-44730450
  20. No booking list as yet, but interesting to note that the preview says around 60 cars. Previous info has suggested that the F1s were limited to 48.
