Scottish Weekend - Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th June 2018
Rod Matthew replied to Les Waller's topic in Essential Information
Really wish i could do the same Linky. It's a great turnout of F1's . Logistics have beaten me this year, sadly. I'm definitely going to try and do the next one though (2020 ?) ............... The Scottish driver additions certainly make it look interesting to. -
I'll be very surprised if 84 & 464 aren't added to the list, especially as it's a WQR Unless Tom has other commitments ..................... Edit I've just noticed 464 has been added, so i'd say Tom is not racing for some particular reason

Thankz Harry Congrats Lee on the final win. Wondering why Holland rather than KL Also well done Mark Tesselaar on 2nd place, after some good results at Kings Lynn the night before
-
That's an absolutely crackin' line up. So pleased for Rob and the team. The Davidson & Harris cars pictured, always look stunning. So that's Tom and Nigel returning on the same day. Brilliant. It's already been asked, and i'm interested myself, What car was Nigel practicing with at Birmingham ? Also, is Catherine Harris racing any formula at the moment ? For some reason, i thought she was coming into F1

That's exactly what I was thinking Andy, I like to stand outside, on the straights, at all F1 meetings At Sheffield, one side is completely closed, and the Home straight is on a slope Can't wait to see where 5 million quid is going. There's nothing on the official stadium website (that I can find)
-
What are the plans that have been mentioned ( £5m investment ) ?
-
Cheers Will Think Harry bought the green 186 car n dunno if 186 still has his purple car
-
Both 197 & 14 raced at Venray last week Great to see both 186 & 126 booked for the same meeting. Anyone know what car Harry will drive (he normally drives the 186 car) In my dreams, Hednesford would be a monthly venue for the F1's

The entrance fee, wherever, is always the smallest proportion of my overall cost of attending a meeting. When i do weekenders, like the Ipswich / Northampton weekenders, i stay at Travelodge, and the dog has to come to. It's a £20 additional charge just for the dog to stay in the room. So, for me, £20 admission for this meeting is excellent value for money. The additional costs involved in any meeting, including child entry fees, are a separate argument.

Thanks again for another Superstar performance -
Cheers Hary Such a shame on the day of Piet's memorial trophy, and after his bad luck at Ipswich
-
Thankz Frank & Hary Well done Rocket Ron, still going strong after 5 Long track wins (1st time 1991) and 3 Gold Cup wins at Venray Did Geert Jan Keijzer have problems ? Not in the top 10 after his 8th in Heat 1

I would think the answer to that is No, as Speaky would surely not miss Dan off the list. Wonder what car Phoebe is driving. -
Re: Belle Vue meeting final I didn't quite see it the same as Nic Nigel Green was sent into the fence along with 216, thanks to a brilliant hit from Lee Fairhurst. The intensity of Nigel hitting a post caused an offside rear puncture.

Not fully sure what you're saying Harry. Do you have a minimum number of drivers on a list, that makes you not disappointed ? Or is it more about favourite drivers being in attendance ? Lets' say an acceptable driver attendance is 35 on a list. Will the meeting suddenly be dreadful if only 34 turn up ? Personally, i don't understand the obsession with lists , but it's clearly important to some So Nina's statement certainly isn't rubbish to me. Car numbers doesn't guarantee anything Last year, i saw a Brisca F1 meeting with over 100 cars and it was probably my least enjoyed meeting of the year. Sadly, the weather played a part in that. Last Sunday i saw a meeting with less than 30 cars, and the four 'all in' races were very good.

I second that Will, hoping for a great aft / evening session. Weather is due to hit a massive 17 degrees around start time ! I'm getting an overwhelming feeling on Stoxnet at the moment, that the season is over There's still 7 shoot out rounds remaining.. I wanna enjoy Dan whilst we've still got him (many others as well , of course)

That's a quality field of drivers . More than likely 2/3 format . Good thing about this format is that most drivers get 4 races. Notably not on the list, that go well at Sheffield, are 34, 249, 166, 192, 94, 335, 215. ( perhaps to be added later ) Looking forward to this as i've just had a weekend off and am suffering from withdrawal symptoms .
-
That match is due to finish as 2pm , so maybe not a big problem ??
-
Big thumbs up to this format Every other race an F1 race. Perfect At Buxton, you wait so long for another F1 race to come along, you could visit Spedeworth Caverns inbetween races (or Blue John if you prefer) It would be nice to see this meeting better supported than the last one here. Sheffield is a crackin' facility .
