  2. Welcome to Mildenhall folks. Uppermost in everyone's thoughts is the sad passing of Queen Elizabeth II. It's a fact that there isn't anyone in this country who hasn't lived the majority of their lives under her reign. She gave 70 years of dedication and duty. Nothing, and nobody has symbolised more about what it means to being British than our Queen. Rest In Peace, Your Majesty. The decision has been taken to let the racing continue this weekend so let's make it a good one.
  3. WF Review: On a early rain soaked track 183 takes the field on a very slow rolling lap. Keeping the 7 car high and wide Charlie made the perfect start whilst Gordon who was stuck on the outside line dropped down the field. Entering turn 1 for the first time the 183 car drifted wide and bounced it off the plating. The following cars all had difficulty getting through those first two corners. A big pile up took out 3, 127, H186 amongst others. The 7 car was making inroads back to the front sending 38 wide to take 2nd place. Dave P put in a side hit on the Flying Fifer into turn 2 to retake the place. 968 making moves through the field. 183 encountered a wayward H410 in turn 2 which delayed him slightly. The next lap saw the 915 car stationary on the entrance to the back straight which saw 183 bounce off the plate trying to get through. With 38 now closing the leading duo entered turn 1 which saw Dave make the decisive move of the race with a big hit on 183 which saw Charlie rattle off the fence but keep going. Meanwhile 968 had passed the 7 car and settled into 2nd. 606 and 7 battled through turn 3 as 183 fought back passing 7 on the home straight. One to go saw the order over the line as 38, 968, 606, 183 and 7. Entering turn 3 for the last time 183 half spun 606 to take the place with 7 & H124 following. However, 183 had slowed himself with the move which gave 7 the chance to make a challenge on Guinchy by trying a side hit to the rear bumper but couldn't quite complete the move before the line. A jubilant Dave Polley took the flag with an all top 3 in DP cars. A great race 👍

  6. GN Notes: 44 leads away. B197 spins 34 out in turn 1 but goes in the fence himself. 18 from the handicap slices the gap up the middle between 55 and 289. 55 pulls off. 548 hits the turn 1 fence square on and is left in a dangerous position to the oncoming traffic. The front bumper is stuck on top of the fence. Caution to get Dan to safety. 216 pulls off with a flat right rear. 78 who has made some good starts all evening heads the field at the green and opens up a big gap. In a turn 4 sort out 276 nearly rolls it and is left side on to the pack. 3NZ in taking avoiding action catches the rear corner of 515 sending him into a marker tyre. 34 hits another home straight tyre. 217 and 16 get rid of 457 in a combined hit into turn 1. 289 then has a go at 457 in turn 3. 457 gets a hit in on B197 into turn 1. 453, 78 go in as well with 217 nearly spinnning it in avoidance. 16 is really on it as he bounces off the home straight fence in a shower of sparks. 44, 78 and 457 come to grief again in turn 1 bringing out the caution. With 2 to go at the restart Mat sets sail to the victory. 289 and 217 battle through turns 3 and 4 on the last lap with Jake holding on for 2nd. A good night's racing. That's all from me folks. Leyland DAF have an open day at the factory tomorrow which is a rare event so i'll be giving Sheffield a miss. Back from Mildenhall and the WF weekend 👍

A very fast 515 suffers a flat right rear. 289 hooks 34 around into a home straight marker tyre. 351 rolls it in turn 3 bringing out the red flags. 55 is pushed off on the roller. 18 makes a perfect start as the rest struggle to keep up. 16 takes on 127 and 93 into turn 1 but slows himself as 289 shoots through on the inside. With 3 to go 127 half spins in turn 2 with 93 completing the spin for him by hitting his left rear corner. 18 has increased his lead and takes a well earned victory.

  10. Heat Three Happenings: 424 leads away. 34 goes skywards off an infield marker tyre on the opening lap. 78 loops it on the home straight. 16, 446 and 515 battle down the back straight bouncing off each other side by side. 457 and B197 put a combined hit on 424 into turn 3. 515 barges 216 aside exiting turn 4. After a caution period 515 pulls off before the green. 18 leads the field. 35 gets spat out of the field hard in to the turn 1 fence. 424 gets caught up in a clash between 16 and 216 into turn 1. Mike is left with a sheared off front left wheel. Caution flag to retrieve the 424 car. 18, 16 and 55 head the field. 35 has the front left tyre let go on the roller. Craig is slow to get going which bunches up the field behind. 2 to go and the 16 car has closed the gap to 18. A last bender from Mat sees him pile drive the 18's nerf rail in turn 3 which sends both wide. Dan tries a come back move by riding up the 16's right rear. Mat holds on for the win.
  11. Pit News: 501 - Sorting left front hub. 515 - Oil pressure fluctuating. B197 - Porta power on the right rear corner. Mat on hand to weld the bumper bracing. 249 - Porta power on the front axle.
  12. Heat Two Happenings: 424 leads away. Most of the field slides wide in turn 1 and clatters the fence. 515 puts a hit in on 217 entering turn 1 a couple of laps later but bounces his car off the fence. Caution for a stranded 501 on the exit of turn 2. 14. Welcome to Odsal folks. Heat One Happenings: 44 leads away. 18 whacks 548 hard into the turn 3 fence on lap 1. 35 runs into the back of the stricken car. Caution flag. 55 tries a sideways shuffle on 16 down the back straight but comes off worse with a half spin which catches out 217 also. Craig then tangles with 351 in the same place a couple of laps later. 18 leads at halfway. 453 hits the back straight fence which causes problems for the 16 who tangles with him. They both stop on the exit of turn 4. 3 to go sees the 18 car spin out on the home straight with 3 to go. 44, 34 and 217 clash entering the home straight in the closing lap creating a narrow line for the following cars. 127 comes through the chaos for the victory.
  15. A multi-part race folks: Various crashes in the first start brought out a red flag. UK464 had made a good start and opened up a gap. UK1 slow to get away appeared to adopt a support role to Luke and put the bumper in on H47. Tom then had an altercation with H299 and ended up locked together in turn 2. Much smoking of the rears and attempting to disentangle followed. A flat front right ensued. A full restart was announced giving 10 mins to allow mechanics on track. Tom took the opportunity to let the H299 driver know he wasn't impressed with his actions by using a pointy finger 😀 The tyre was replaced and all looked good with the UK1 car. UK166 had a loose wing retightened. UK48 out with a damaged shocker. UK381 and UK36 also didn't take the restart. The second start saw UK464 open up a lead straightaway over H47 and gain some space on his pursuer. UK1 suffered another flat right front after taking on the locals. He was down the field at the time and closing in on H299 who i'm sure would have felt the full force of the World Champ's front end. Another red flag for a rollover put pressure on Luke to make a good restart. However, the H47 car made an even better one to grab the top spot and open up a gap. A caution next for a wheel on the track. H47 maintained his lead on the restart as UK464 lit up the rears. The closing stages saw the gap open and close slightly on consecutive laps. It all came down to the possibility of a last bender from Luke. Unfortunately he was too far back to put a hit in without compromising his chances of victory. The extremely wide bends here allowed the H47 car to go in deep and take the outside line to victory 🏁🏁
  16. Tom got a flat right front in this one in the closing stages as he was gaining on the leaders.
  17. Guinchy in finishing 3rd in the meeting Final (won by Steve Smith 299) was the highest placed World Final Qualifier. Therefore he starts the WF on pole with his fellow qualifiers from Semi-Final 2 forming the inside line. Semi-Final 1 WF qualifiers form the outside line.
  18. Semi-Final 2: 183 set sail to the length of a straight victory. 606 remained safe in 2nd until 5 to go when 324 had closed the gap. He passed 606 into turn 3 on the last lap. A good drive through the field for 127. Result: 183, 324, 606, 127, 968, 618, 184, 129, 915, 674 - 226, 161. Top 10 from both have qualified for the WF 👍
  19. In blistering 28C Buxton temperatures here are the Semi-Final Results: Semi-Final 1 At the drop of the green 7 pulled marginally clear of 38 for a short while until 38 took the lead. 7 repassed soon after and maintained a decent gap to the end. At 5 to go 647 had closed the gap to 38 and passed into turn 1 with 3 to go. Result: 7, 647, 38, 992, 560, 3, 700, 542, 960, 776 - 578, 464.
  20. GN Notes: 195 leads away. 172 pulls off on the roller. 120 and 191 tangle on the home straight. 1 sets off on a mesmerising drive to the front. He starts off with a combined hit on his sister and 211 into turn 3. Every car ahead of him over the remaining laps gets a proper hit 👍 25 whacks 525 into turn 3. There are three THM cars in the top 4 by halfway. 124 passes 368 for the lead with 3 to go. The World Champ catches 124 in turn 1 on the last lap. He puts a combination hit and slide job on Kyle which unsettles him down the back straight. Into turn 3 and the big hit goes in on 124 which sees the 1 car claim the victory. A great race 👍👍 That's it folks, back from Bradford 👍
  21. Pit News: 212 - Wing mounts broken + screen mesh torn away at left hand side. 132 - Front left shocker/spring u/s. 345 - Loading up. Clutch gone. 543 - Right rear link rod to be replaced. 300 - Front left nerf rail bracing split. 452 - Loading up. Oil leak. 381 - Replacing the front bumper upright.
  22. Final Focus: 489 leads away. A spectacular start sees a huge combined push from 515 and 1 into turn 3. 345, 16, 217, 212 and 259 all end up in a heap with the 259 car on top of 212. All drivers are ok. The subsequent complete re-start is only a couple of laps in when 489 spins exiting turn 2. The pack following close behind all end up in another heap. Cars involved are: 172, 11, 300, 87, 551, 345, 191, 543, 73, 211, 2 and 16. All drivers ok. 452 leads the depleted field away on the restart. 515 puts a big hit in on 217 into turn 1 which connects with the World Champ and puts him offline down the back straight. Tom returns the favour into turn 3 and pulls clear. Next to get the 515 front end treatment is 8 and 283 entering turn 1. Meanwhile upfront a tyre smoking 381 has taken the lead. 368 and 1 are closing gradually. 4 to go and 1 passes 368 and tries to make inroads to the very rapid 381 car. Tyrone hangs on however and takes a well deserved victory. 368 just makes it for third from 166 who was ever so close to getting him before the line.
