  1. 'That rule has now been postponed' As a bystander I feel I have my nose fairly close to the ground but I must have missed this. Two weeks ago Rev-gate was as controversial as Cambridge Analytica but now the seasons started and nothing more seems to have been said...?
  2. A few programmes needed if anyone has spare copies, needed to fill some gaps in my collection: Birmingham/Hednesford April 2011 Birmingham/Hednesford April 2015 Last Ever Wimbledon Meeting 26/03/17 (Not the F1 meeting but the Last Ever meeting. Cheers.
  3. If anyone has a second set, including 1961, please let me know too!
  4. Jeez.... How I wish I could go to a 29 car shale meeting on a nice sunny autumn afternoon. I'll spare the details of why I cant but lets just say for some of us it's a logistic impossibiity. I'm looking forward to next year though as I'm contemplating to party like it's 1992. The idea is to cancel my internet subscription of £25 a month and re-subscribe to Stock Car magazine for £5 a month in order to follow this sport. Every day, whether it's here or FB, the 'magic' and the 'unknown quanity' which Nina speaks of is rapidly dissapearing. I really miss that.
  5. I'm just looking at the pics of Simon Joblin above, Craig is on the centre green. Or centre tarmac, whatever it's called these days?
  6. I spy Mr Finnikin getting in some tarmac practice too. Every year I'm like a little kid when it comes to the week of the World Final (and I hope that never changes!) Roll on Saturday... and Friday.
  7. Cheers. Good looking list of drivers heading this way in September.
  8. Indeed... as we know it, Mick doesn't have a shale car/engine right now, but surely fancies another trip to Ipswich in September? As ever the Semi's have the 'potential' to be explosive. Lets hope they live up to the already building hype!
  9. Thanks. I might have been there last night but don't remember hearing a single result being announced?!
  10. Superb. It's the type of list we can only dream of for the Euro's!
  11. Looking for a few more to complete the collection. Bradford 1981 and even though it's quite an ask, all programmes from 1955-1961. I'm happy to pay fair money, but not silly money. Cheers.
  12. Great write up! Who ever thought fence posts had feelings?
  13. And that is precisely why you are a well respected man Nigel. It doesn't take long for you to get your spark back does it? Look forward to seeing you out at KL next week.
  14. They'll be fighting over it come WF day when they've both qualified!
  15. He announced his retirement on April 1st ... He's said he will race but is cutting down. Shale only....? Bradley seems to now have the British winning TH car.
  16. Me too Stox74. I'm not knocking the turnout, 43 cars in March is great. Just highlighting that the other 25 or so drivers who you could have put money on turning out at Cov next week aren't rushing to get out at Lynn. I'm not digging holes in the sport at all. I'm just saying it as I see it - that just because one track closes, unfortunately we dont see an upturn anywhere else.... yet.
  17. I might regret saying this, I don't normally write negative things about the sport I love but hey, I'm just observing: It's fairly clear to see, even though Coventry would have been only one more week away, but with it having closed, drivers are not simply queuing up to race anywhere else. For whatever reasons drivers on masse aren't rushing to get to Kings Lynn as a default now that Cov has closed. I think we know that drivers are probably on the whole waiting for WF qualifiers to start. That means Birmingham will be the first big turnout this year I'm quite sure. Who ever saw that happening? There's talk on other threads about fans losing access to tracks. But it's the same for drivers isn't it. How quickly the days of seeing 60/70 drivers at a 'nothing' meeting have disappeared.
  18. I may have been miles from Belle Vue today but its great to know the new season is finally in full swing. Thanks Jane and Nic.
  19. The Wimbo 12! I like it. A lot of people do seem down in the dumps at the moment. There's good reason (and another thread) for all that. But I remember 1993. It was grim. The season didn't start until May because of all the politics. And when it did tarmac was on its buttocks, big time. They said the sport was lost then but somehow 24 years later were still going, albeit maybe not so strong. Enjoy your racing. Try to remember that's why we're all here in the first place.
  20. The car park us a bit like Birmingham in that it fills quickly and you need to get there early. The fact the car park doubles up as the pits is a bonus as if you can get there early you can while away the time geeking over watching the trucks arrive! I live 3 miles from the stadium. To say I'm excited is an understatement. I never thought I'd get to see F1's there so Sunday is going to be a very special day for me. I will take the number of cars with a pinch of salt... I turned up at Bradfield once and there was only nine.. and that was before the days of the internet-i-need-to-know-everything-now booking lists. Chris53 - there's also Waterside way just across the road, down the side of the Vauxhall dealers. Loads of people use that and I've never had an issue.
