  4. Can't just blame Brisca Stav, what happened at Saloon stox world final? And it's pretty much in all motorsport. But we need to encourage drivers not hinder them.
  5. Now available to buy at the tracks or online, and by post!
  6. After many years of great service to the sport, Mike Greenwood has decided to take a back seat next season, but the calendar he started many years ago with ASF of Holland will continue with Colin Casserley & James Bowles handling the UK side to make sure the Tradition Continues. 2018 Stock car calendar, on sale this weekend..The much loved calendar will be available from this weekend, keep an eye of FB for full details of where you can obtain this much sought after item. . The long running calendar has been a tradition for many years now, featuring the best of British & Dutch stock car racing. #keepingTheFuninStockCars Full details will be posted shortly, but that is one of the traditional Christmas presents sorted!!
  7. Nice bit of publicity fir our sport In this weeks Motorsport News,
  8. Good photo on the cover of the programme :-)
  9. They have a have half hour free practice session at 12.30 long before the time trials. Last time we had a WF at Ipswich you could not even run a car in the pits before 5pm so just occasionally things do improve. Mind you lets be honest, you could give the overseas entry 2 days of practice and its still not going to turn them into credible challengers for the title. Maybe, but it has happened in F2, they have World Champion, World of Shale champion, World Cup champion, and F2 Supercup champ! And more often than not they have more F1 & F2s racing at meetings in Holland over a weekend than we do.. The power base is shifting!! And the fact we get drivers from NZ makes it a credible "world" title race, wish we could get the USA , South African and Canadian drivers back, would give the race even more kudos
  10. I am sure the F2s are doing two timed sessions with all cars out on track ( Similar to F1GP), with transponders these days I think that is a fairer method than the 1 car at a time, especially on shale where track conditions alter. worth considering for F1s in the future.
  11. I agree Linky, In New Zealand they put on extra meetings for the Team GB lads to get some practice in, I think it about time we did the same... There should be meetings the week before the world final, and a full meeting on Friday night for overseas and UK drivers. If world final drivers don't want to compete, so be it, but the sport is about all drivers not the select few!
  12. Some F2 drivers also out there for the weekend, best of luck to all drivers racing in Holland this weekend
  13. Thanks Carl, let me know how much you want for it and I wil see you at a meeting soon? l
  14. Has anyone got a spare programme from last weekends meetings? Thanks Colin
  15. God willing I will be there, not missed one since 1967, not all have been great, but it is the sports biggest night of the year
  16. when it first opened the pits was behind the main grandstand, the track went right to a few feet in front of the main stand.. No greyhound track.. There was a staging area around turn 3 and 4 where heat races lined up, room for all cars from all heats to line up.. It closed for a while ( To F1s) when it re-opend a greyhound track was on the inside of the track, and the first meeting there was wire & post fence on inside of track as well as outside.. result.. Chaos!!!! It closed again (to f1s) for a while, when it re-opened a greyhound track was around the outside of the stock car track and the stock car oval was smaller. At one point a half mile track was built , but I am not sure it was ever raced on, the remains on that are seen on turn 1 & 2
  17. fence/racetrack is right out to the spectator fence, there is a greyhound track between the two now
  18. yes, I will be there after travelling over from Stoke! Would be good to see some drivers come over as well :-)
  19. Good to see John Dowson and Austin Moore on the list, both making there 2017 debut,
  20. If f1s were dropped from the weekend they would go and race somewhere else. I know the weekend attracts a lot of F2 and saloon fans, but I also know a lot of F1 fans go along to it just because F1s are on. and if no f1s, or they were at another track they would either not go, or go to see them if they were at another track..
  21. pit space, meeting format.. you can have too many cars sometimes!
