  1. IMHO most of the cars will have been stripped down, engines out and rebuilt, panels off, shockers replaced etc over the winter. The car / driver who was ON IT during the qualifying rounds this year may not have his heavily rebuilt car dialed in for meeting one in 2021. So it could be really unrepresentative of this year's action to have the decider after the winter. Fun, maybe, but not very fair. I say let it go. Nice idea and good fundraiser, but best left alone. Give it to Frank as he has most points, or just let it go.
  2. "Dust can be controlled, rain cannot." Yeah it can. Put your hood up! (I'll get my coat / parka!)
  3. Is this the first time we’ll see the 53 car on track this year?
  4. Where's the 'like' button? Get the brollies out. Belle Vue is calling!
  5. Sorry for the perennial question, but it's been ages since I've been to Sheffield. Are seats and sandwiches allowed in? Thanks!!
  6. Why does the starter have to wave his hands about 5 times as each car passes? It makes it impossible to follow who's in which place if you can't actually see his fingers!
  7. Straight question : has John Lund packed in quietly?
  8. I was caught by the 40mph cameras at Swinehead bridge at the October meeting last year. Set off early and take it canny, I reckon. ;-)
  9. I haven't been to Hednesford for well over 20 years, so I'm really looking forward to going back.
  10. I hope you're all sorted for a wet set-up! Good luck!
  11. Thanks for the posts. It's great to catch up on results when you can't get to meetings.
  12. The version I had growing up was a 57 Chevy Nomad and a similarly aged American saloon - perhaps an Impala. I wish I'd kept it!
  13. I'm coming down tonight. Great way to start the weekend.
  14. I know it's a few weeks off yet, but will there be space made available for people to camp at Saddlebow Road at the end of the month?
  15. Can you please confirm what time the frst race is? There seems some confusion up our way! Cheers Dan
  16. Thanks very much! Brill advice. What a great website this is.
  17. Hi all! I've never been to Buxton before, but I'm planning to go on the 1st August. What do you put into the Sat Nav (Tomtom)? Is there a postcode? Their official address is about 20 miles away!!!
  18. For me it'd be car stickers, and I mean OF THE CARS. Long gone too are the days of sew-on badges, but I wish those days were back! Something with the cars on, please! I have a Brisca car sticker on my back window, and I forlornly keep going to the Stock Car stand looking for stickers with actual cars on. Unfortunately they only seem to have external stickers of the Wainmans and Smiths, which are no good for the outside of a road car. So please please bring back stickers of our favourites! Sew-ons would be good too! I am sick of logos as the only thing to show our alleigance... Does anyone remember the ones Aycliffe used to do which were DIRT cheap. They were simply printed bits of brightly coloured paper (about 30cm x 15) with the 'next meeting' details on them. Then little pieces of double-sided sticky tape attached at either end. Easy to produce, display and remove for the next meeting. I used to love them!
  19. Hi, we need an 850+ cfm carb for an F1. Must be good condition. May swap for some bits, or let me know what-have-you. Cheers
