  1. Wasn't there today but I am a bit confused as to how nic has got 46 as not being there when 48 was. Utley travelled to Ipswich on a trailer behind the Webster bus so logic says they would have arrived at Northampton together !
  2. So what you are basically saying is that you are an F1 fan not a stock car fan then.
  3. But if the headline act failed to deliver on the night, wouldn't you feel a little less disappointed if you had enjoyed the support act as well ? As a stock car fan and not just an F1 fan, I don't always consider the F1s to be the headline act and that has definitely proven to be the case on several occasions this year. I will happily travel to watch F1, F2, Saloons, and Ministox. Therefore, tonight I have the option of watching 1 of those at Coventry or 2 of those at Kings Lynn. As I said in my previous post, no disrespect to Coventry, but as a stock car fan Kings Lynn is offering me more tonight.
  4. Daniel, I think what he is trying to say is that if the support formulas don't appeal to you then you are paying £19 for 6 races at Coventry which is not really value for money. The track is too big for 1300 saloons and the unlimited bangers have been very poor at this meeting for several years. Like myself, chunder is a stock car fan and not just an F1 fan. I look at the fixtures for all formulas and decide which will give me the most vfm and tonight I consider Kings Lynn to be the better option - £4 cheaper to watch 2 good stock car formulas plus 2 banger classes that will be getting stuck in and not just rodding around. No disrespect to Coventry but tonight's meeting just doesn't appeal to me.
  5. Don't suppose anybody got the results for ministox heat 1 did they ? For some reason only heat 2 onwards are on mylaps
  6. I would think they would fit into the 'Concessions £8' category.
  7. Not a bad listing of cars from - to quote the commentator last night - the SUPPORT FORMULA.
  8. Maybe related to Pursey's mechanic Ian 'Jake' Bell who used to borrow Pursey's car when he went on holiday and raced as 475 ?
  9. Will somebody please show this thread to Bev Greenhalf because he has had an amazing idea for an internet car sharing database and he can't believe that someone hasn't already set one up.
  10. It is advertised as 6.00 start on the front of Stoxworld, complete with the traditional Coventry end of season price increase.
  11. Can we quote you on this one Steve ? Once again the F2s are treated as second class citizens by Startrax, despite (as usual)having the highest turnout of cars out of all formulas at the meeting. Drivers having travelled in excess of 3 hours get 2 races for their troubles while the spectators have to endure a banger race with a single figure turnout. It won't be long before the F2 drivers stop supporting Startrax completely if it carries on like this.
  12. Because officially, the general public are not allowed in the pits and the security are there to ensure that they don't get in to uphold the rules of the safety certificate. By paying at the pit gate it makes it look like you are with a race team and bypasses the system.
  13. Think this is the guy that bought Paul Hines' old tarmac car.
  14. Can anyone please confirm the start time for this meeting ? The F2 fixture list says 6.00, the F1 fixture list says 6.30, and the advert in the latest Stoxworld says 7.00 !!!
  15. In the interests of fair competition, I would just like to point out that Competition Car Insurance is also run by a motorsports enthusiast although not necessarily an oval racer. Richard Egger has been a regular rally competitor for over 20 years to my knowledge and has helped many people over the years who struggled to get insurance for rally cars, support vehicles, etc. He is now a regular in the Historic Rallies in his Mk1 Escort. I don't know whether he has much involvement in oval racing, but his company is signed up as an F2 partner for 2007.
  16. That has to be one of the most dubious typos ever on this forum.
  17. I think it's a Mike Close car but not 100% sure. It's regular driver was Dave Eccles (ex-ministox 22) who later went on to win the Trackstar Banger World Final at Swaffham in the late 90's.
