  1. Really enjoying the recent run of interviews featuring Roger, Andy and Nigel - a great level of depth and focus on the racing. I'm not sure if you have time to take requests from everyone but an interview with Joe, Dave and Geoff Nickolls would be fantastic and there's a huge range of questions to ask them!
  2. Didn't realise that the Cons Semi was such an excellent grid - will be looking forward to seeing that race. Reds and Superstars will have to work hard!
  3. Great to see 451 Martin Spiers booked in - over the past few months there's been a few photos of his new car under construction and it's a fantastic looking bit of kit. Looks like it will be straight in at the deep end with a Cowdie debut, and I hope it goes well for him and the team.
  4. Great booking list which probably translates to 50 cars on the night. Two good heats. Weather looking good too.
  5. Cheers Stu, on first glance I thought it was this car, but can see now that they're different. http://photos.stoxnet.com/displayimage.php?pid=60253
  6. Nic - 431 Ian Bond has been a registered driver for a good few years, but has only raced occasionally. First car was an older-style car with no wing and a turquoise/black paint job. He's from Weston-Super-Mare I believe. He has spent a few seasons building a new tarmac car so I'm looking forward to seeing it.
  7. Really looking forward to this meeting. Nic - there's a pic of #80 in the Mildenhall gallery - pic no.12. I think he might have the ex-440 Craig Aston car?
  8. Belle Vue - Stu Smith has a healthy lead over the chasing pack in the shoot-out so it will be interesting to see if the other drivers can narrow his lead, and what tactics they'll take to try and do so. Also Steve Mallison is a very good driver so would be a very welcome addition to F1. The Josh Smith car seemed to sell very quickly so I did wonder if it was Steve who bought it, but the preview says he's in F1 for a couple of meetings so I guess it's a borrowed car.
  9. Firstly, does it take that much longer to copy and paste the same info to FB and Stoxnet so all bases are covered. Secondly, two posts on FB stand out in my mind among many that are similar; one fan's two-word constructive feedback was that the WF meeting was "utter w**k" and another was from a fan who explained how any potential new driver would be "insane" to consider entering the sport. And yet people claim this kind of stuff does no damage to the sport! I'm with Steve Rees on this one, there is so much spirit-crushing negativity around we'd all be better off putting our phones away.
  10. Unmissable! Thanks for the updates, Carl. I think this meeting will be very popular with midlands and southern-based fans like myself, who have been unable to go to many meetings in the absence of Coventry. It will only be my second F1 meeting of the year.
  11. Great numbers. I guarantee that releasing that number through the booking list will convert to more fans through the doors - and helps encourage fans from further afield as Rex B mentions above. I don't mind meetings of 30-35 cars, but for me it's great to see 30+ grids in Finals and Grand Nationals, and a meeting with a 50-60 car turnout is more likely to build up to that - so the best races of the night are action-packed and under the lights. I don't think that makes me any less of a fan for saying that.
  12. Sorry you feel that way, Beaks. I'm perhaps in the opposite situation - really enjoyed Birmingham and positive about the racing, but suffering from a lack of tracks geographically feasible to get to, and looking at some empty Saturdays on the fixture list wishing there was a meeting on.
  13. Thanks Carl, that's a pretty accurate booking list then.
  14. Just out of interest, how many F1s' raced at KL on Saturday?
  15. It's hard to track who might have been at Coventry but isn't at Kings Lynn, and who the "Coventry only" drivers are/were. For example, I'm pretty sure I saw Craig Aston's car pictured at NIR on a test day in the hands of , but if it was his car and he has sold up, who's to say how much Coventry's closure had in his decision? Who are we talking about when we say "Coventry only" drivers?
  16. Thank you Premier - I hadn't spotted that. Recent change?
  17. If you're including #215, don't forget it's Geoff Nickolls, not Nicholls! Sorry for being off-topic but his name seems to have been mis-spelled by Stock Car Magazine since 1978...
  18. Due to an upcoming house move I am looking to sell my collection of F1-related magazines. This is an excellent opportunity to obtain a LOT of history about F1 stock car racing! I can bring these to most Coventry F1 meetings and of course the World Final meeting at Kings Lynn. Alternatively they can be collected from Bristol. All are in good condition. Stock Car Magazines (124 copies): 1974 - April 2000. A dozen or so from the seventies, the rest are from 1987 onwards. StockCar Pictorials: both published pictorials from the 1990s. StockCar Annuals: 1988 through to 2001 (complete with self-assembly models of 53 and 85) StoxWorld Magazines (147 copies): June 1989 - June 2001 Stock Car Journal Magazines (excellent articles and editorials) (15 copies): August 1989 - July 1991 Inside Line Magazines (BSCDA magazine) (33 copies) May 1992 - July 1996 Stock Car Supporter Magazines (27 copies) October 1970 - September 1980 So 362 publications in total - 215 magazines plus the 147 StoxWorlds. Prices per set of publications: SCM's + Pictorials + Annuals: £70 the lot (around 50p a magazine) StoxWorlds: £30 the lot (around 20p each) Stock Car Journals: £10 the lot Inside Line Magazines: £10 the lot Stock Car Supporter Magazines: £25 the lot I'm looking to sell these magazines either as one job lot or by set of publications, rather than by single issues. Thank you for looking, please send me a PM if you are interested.
  19. Car now SOLD and collected in record time! Thankyou for everyone who viewed the advert and showed interest. As the advert had a good number of views on here, I'll plug that over on Ftooz and In the Pits (with pictures) we have some other items for sale, 9 Avon tyres (suit Saloon Stox or F2), an axle straightening jig and a pair of Weller wheels.
  20. Car now SOLD and collected in record time! Thankyou to everyone who viewed the advert and showed interest.
  21. Genuine Elite chassis for sale: it is very strong, handles well and would be an ideal beginner's car. The car will be sold exactly as pictured, except the 3 new tyres shown will be replaced with part-worn tyres and the shock absorbers will be removed. For pictures please click link below: http://www.itsthepits.co.uk/listing/105/F2_stock_car_genuine_Elite_chassis_for_sale.html Specification includes: Bingley front hubs; front anti-roll bar; latest spec. stainless steel fuel tank; brake bias valves; Autometer gauges including memory rev-counter; Kirkey intermediate seat with x2 side restraints. The car comes minus engine, gearbox / propshaft, differential and wing. Otherwise, it's ready to race with very little work required and is compliant with BriSCA F2 2011 specifications. However, the offside nerf rail will need some attention. Car is located in Loughborough, Leicestershire. £700 Please call Richard on 01509 215109, or email mtrevarthen@aol.com for more details.
  22. Here you go Dave, this page from one of the Heritage sites has all the contact numbers on: http://briscaheritage.piczo.com/contacts?c...;linkvar=000044
  23. Another superb report Carl, excellent to read from my point of view as I didn't go to the meeting. Joe Booth has won on shale before; he won the GN at the horrendously wet Coventry meeting.
  24. If you don't have much success locally then I can vouch for "All Audi" in Bristol, have used them myself before and service was good and prices fair. Am sure they would arrange delivery if req'd. http://www.allaudi.co.uk/ Good luck!
