  1. 19 Jon Horne has posted on Twitter that he'll be racing at this meeting. Think he's sold his car and is using a Mat Newson one?
  2. This is what you merely stated. It's wrong to assume anything Daniel S, the truth is out there, do not assume anything. BUXTON RACEWAY WEBSITE Not hard is it Sam W you appear to have answered your own question. Not exactly positive contributions to a discussion, are they? You could have either just posted the facts, which you were party to, or you could have said nothing at all. Either would have been perfectly fine. I'll think about it.
  3. You didn't try to correct anything. You just added to the confusion, and your attitude of "I know something you don't know, la la la la laaaaa" hardly helped. If anything, it just made it worse. You do not approve of assumptions. I do not approve of posts that seem to be made to deliberately stir up bother on here. Agreed. Right, let's draw a line under all that, and get back to the more important things in life - like, this Semi-Final meeting.
  4. In the absence of actual facts, there will be questions and speculation. As a member of the 152 team, you would have been treated as a credible source of information, so it is a great pity that you chose not share these FACTs with us at the time; they would have saved a whole lot of assuming, something you have made clear that you do not approve of.
  5. No F1 booking list as yet (but there will be at least 24 of them ) but currently expecting turnouts of high 20s in all three support formulae.
  6. 134 John Brown should be out in a new car. Gary Grattan is an interesting entry. He's an F2 driver from Northern Ireland but has been racing an F1 in Holland with a Dutch team. I don't think he's ever raced an F1 in England.

  9. Okay then..... Saturday 6th August - F1s from about 6.45pm ish. Friday 2nd September - first race 7pm Saturday 3rd September - gates open 12 noon, time trials 1pm, first race 3pm. I've removed all the posts of confusion, to prevent further confusion...
  10. The meeting starts at 5.30pm and the first F1 race will be race 4. This will almost certainly be before the usual F1 start time of 7pm - this was in bold in the info I received but in pasting it I lost the emphasis. At 5.30pm it's going to be either 2 Ministox races and 1 UK Mod race or 2 UK Mod races and 1 Ministox race. How long will that take? 30-45 minutes? The F1s are after that. Anyway, everybody needs to be there for 5pm at the latest to watch the Ladies Race, and more importantly, chuck some cash in.
  11. Pit gate opens 2.30pm. Turnstiles 4.45pm Ladies race 5pm Start time 5.30pm F1s will be on before 7pm (Race 4) British Championship for UK Modifieds Al Henderson Trophy for the F1 Final So far 72 F1s booked in (however damage from Sheffield may affect these numbers) Booking list will go on line Thursday morning. Plus 18 UK Mods & 31 Ministox. Still a bit of space in restaurant - bookings can be taken by emailing sophie@coventrystox.com World Final Tickets for sale in track shop, HIGHLY ADVISABLE to buy your ticket in advance to save queuing on WF day. Grandstand sold out.
  12. Some improvements being made to the pit gate ramp in time for the next meeting. Pics from the Coventry Stadium Facebook page
  13. The Ladies Race is at 5pm.
  14. Now open for your views and scores on the mid-week Skeggy shale session.... No, not really. It was 16 years ago! To the day. So, why am I mentioning it now? Well, the meeting at Skegness on Wednesday 2nd August 2000 has a kind of historical significance, in that it was the first meeting ever to be discussed on the internet. Stoxnet was still a few years away, but the turn of the millenium saw the emergence of a whole raft of stox based websites, all put together by enthusiastic fans. At the time, the internet itself was barely more sophisticated than teletext, and to say some of those early stox sites were "a bit basic" would be an understatement. But some were superb. One of the best was Mike's F1 Stock Car Pages, which had the web address f1stockcars.co.uk (no relation to the modern day F1StockCars.com). When Mike added what was then called a "bulletin board" to the site, it paved the way for online discussion of stock cars, and the rest is history. Mike's bulletin board hadn't been live all that long before somebody got home from the Wednesday night Skegness meeting and started a thread about it. I remember reading it at work early Thursday morning, a bit bleary eyed as I'd got home from Skeg in the early hours (back then, I was just about young enough for that sort of carry-on ) and then typing out a review/summary of the racing. Quite a few more did the same, and that was it.... the very first of what today we call the Driver Of The Day thread! There were no actual DOTD nominations or race ratings; they came along much later. But for the record... DOTD: 180 RR:8 There was no 'live' results, or results summary, or online meeting reports in those days either, but that's a story for another thread...
  15. Billy Johnson has not raced for a while due to health reasons, and it was known well in advance that he would not race in any semi. I think somebody at Buxton might have jumped the gun by adding the first reserve to the second semi grid. That was never published anywhere official, and you should never assume anything. Had 215 been needed at Sheffield and he wasn't there, then he would have lost his place, yes. But as he wasn't required, he is still the next reserve.
  16. Thanks, I've corrected it now. I got a bit confused; the 13th is when I go on holiday.
  17. The only info I could find yesterday was from the Coventry website, which has now been revised. I've updated the original post. In the event of any discrepancy over start times, I'd always go with the earliest one.
