  1. On sale on the night....
  2. I wasn't sure about doing a preview for this meeting, as it's ticket only and there's none left. When was the last time an F1 meeting was a sell out? There's a dozen F1s booked at the moment. 83 Darren Clark147 Edward Collins150 Mick Sworder172 Michael Randell186 Todd Jones301 Mark Allen307 Tim Warwick361 Steve Reedman372 Colin Goodswen388 Paul Ford415 Russell Cooper468 Danny ColliverMaximum respect to Paul Ford, travelling all the way from Scotland!
  3. The last ever season of racing at Wimbledon continues as we present another meeting of the 2016/17 Winter racing season in the warmth and comfort of London’s famous Wimbledon Stadium as Spedeworth / Incarace are proud to bring to you a ‘Barnstormer of a Meeting’, a triple Formula Feast of full contact oval motorsport. Spedeworth / Incarace Motorsports presents this coming Sunday 5th March a much talked about meeting featuring the one – off return of the Mighty Brisca F1 Stock Cars, the National Saloon Stock Cars and the Superstox in a meeting that’s been talked about by Race Fans on Social Media for months, to the point we simply had to make this an all – ticket meeting which has sold out in advance! We have had some superb racing already here at Wimbledon Stadium over the past few weeks and this billing should bring more of the same! We kick off with the Brisca F1 Stock Cars, last seen here a good few years back when they used to visit us once and sometimes twice a year where at times, they produced some incredible action and even more amazing noise in the Stadium. Heading up the bookings is Mick Sworder, who is no stranger to Plough Lane as is also Todd Jones and Colin Goodswen. Tonight the F1’s race here one last time and we have a Sponsorship Trio of A & S Aggregates, Dormer Grab Hire and Simpson Race Exhausts who have all joined forces to back the Formula tonight and we thank Andy Steward, Roger Dormer and Matt Simpson for their generosity this evening. First race 5.30pm
  4. It's more than just a season review - there's loads of brand new, never seen before, excellent material in it as well. Plus a load of old tripe that I wrote.
  5. Statement from Startrax: There WAS one formula too many but when F2's were cancelled from Mildenhall, being a bit soft we agreed to take them! I did not have the heart to take another formula off. We aimed for a 5.pm finish and only just missed it due to a problematic post on turn 3 - apologies - We have now taken the fence out for a full service and on the 9th and 10th January we are doing a full track relay. Once the fence is serviced and re installed we are planning to install by Easter a run or armco on both turns at the vulnerable points to slicken things up even more and avoid damage in the key areas. This has been very successful where installed on the front straight into turn 1. We have improvements going on each year as we can afford, the new swing gates this year have been both a significant investment whilst at the same time being fantastic in improving turnaround times. Thanks for your support and Happy New Year Steve Rees.
  6. Also an All-Comers, race 15, subject to cars. The race format is in the programme, which is the same one as the Stoke banger meeting last month.
  7. The mechanics listed are Steve Swain, Thomas Stevenson, Kev Dodds, Matthew Butler, and Nic Reynolds. Presumably it's Thomas Stevenson's mechanic, not Thomas himself. Or possibly it's his dad/son and has the same name?

There's also a Dutch lad booked in for the Ministox - H525 Nigel de Kock.
  12. Number TBA, his licence is currently being processed. It says 303 cos I've assumed that it's the same Karl Mosley that raced as 303 a few years ago. He's actually down as 249 but that's Joff Gibson; think he's racing Joff's car. Sorry, I should have made that clear. Joff himself is racing in the Micro Bangers. Is everyone following this? Booked in twice for a double portion of mince pies.

  19. Statement from BriSCA regarding the meeting format. It is disappointing to read one or two comments and would respectfully like to make a couple of comments. Whilst we respect the sentiment behind the observations, the format for this event was planned some time ago and enormous effort overall has been invested into the meeting 'for the good of the sport' with an expectation of perhaps late 40's BriSCA F1's. A reasoned expectation with last years event attracting 46 cars. The format has been agreed with the BSCDA and has followed a similar pattern since inception with the last F1 race being the Gala Night Final always designed as the feature highlight. This has always been the case. We are delighted at the surge in bookings in the last 5 days - you will recall we published an 'early' list several days ago which was '40' - We have not turned anyone down for a booking. Adults admission prices are exactly the same as 2015 and have not been increased in line with other Championships to £22. There are some excellent races this evening, all with big grids of cars, one must also be mindful of a strict curfew limit for the venue and with increased grids the greater possibility of some stoppages, Thanks to all race teams, the numbers are excellent, you have note drivers in some cases are 'swopping' cars. Over 60 F1 drivers is excellent notwithstanding BriSCA F2 bookings are marginally ahead of 2015 together with an impressive entry of V8 Stock Cars. Even the weather Gods appear to be smiling with an uplift in temperatures and the rain due to fade away at lunch time giving, hopefully a pleasant late afternoon and evening. We very much hope you enjoy the event and understand the explanation.

  21. Car numbers for the support formula are also impressive - 53 BriSCA F2s and 39 V8s. Statement from BriSCA :- For those who are worried about parking, particularly on Landour Street and area we can confirm that we have security patrolling those areas to hopefully alleviate any problems in the past from time to time.

  23. Latest addition - 404 Danny Mitchell.
  24. Some of them aren't... But they were aged 25 or under on 1st January, which is the criteria for being eligible.
  25. 28 Tom Boyer has withdrawn due to engine problems. F2 star Drew Lammas will now be driving the Murray Jones car, so that's 196 off the list and 543 on it.
