  2. Press release from TrackStar: The early entry is headed by world champion 1 Frankie Wainman Jr who, after streaking to a pair of dominant final wins at the track at the start of last year, has not claimed the main event at King’s Lynn since. Will he be able to break that streak this weekend? Frankie’s brother 212 Danny Wainman has never won a final at King’s Lynn but has been going very well at the track this year so could well be in contention this weekend. Completing the family team, 555 Frankie Wainman Jr Jr is seeking his first-ever win on shale, and is growing in confidence on the loose surface after some strong performances this season. The Wainmans’ traditional rival, 390 Stuart Smith Jr won the grand national last time out and has looked devastatingly quick when things are running well so, despite professing not to be a fan of the track, he will certainly be one to watch. Smith couldnt stop winning at the start of the season but an upgrading to Superstar in May has seen the chequered flags dry up for the Rochdale driver and indeed since being graded Superstar he has only taken one race victory which was the aforemantioned Grand National here last time out and he will be keen to get into the winners circle again on Saturday. Rotherham racer 21 Mark Gilbank has been in fine form this season, scorching to main event success at the April world qualifier. He may not be one of the sport’s superstars, but discount him at your peril. Deposed European champion 4 Dan Johnson returns to a plain old red roof this weekend, which might give him that little extra motivation. Always on the pace and one of the hardest chargers there is, Johnson surprisingly hasn’t won a final at the Saddlebow Road venue for three years. Time to put that right. Transatlantic superstar 84 Tom Harris will add some spice to proceedings, while Norfolk’s own 16 Mat Newson carries home hopes. In the last weekend of action before the Shootout qualification cut-off, 259 Paul Hines retains a very slim hope of deposing 422 Ben Riley and clinching a top-12 spot. He needs something of a miracle but stranger things have happened. Both will be in action on Saturday night. Track specialist 335 Mark Woodhull could be one to watch, while fans’ favourites 45 Nigel Harrhy and 326 Mark Sargent should entertain the packed terraces. Expect fans favorite 45 Nigel Harrhy to be entertaining the terraces There is a welcome return for 94 John Dowson Jr, while 18 Richard Ahern continues his fledgling BriSCA F1 career, following in his famous father’s footsteps. We are also delighted to welcome a four-strong Dutch contingent in H40 Mark Tesselaar, 54 Sierd de Vries H295 Willem Zwerver and H410 Jelle Tesselaar all of whom know the fast way around the Adrian Flux Arena.

  5. Didn't the numbers drop when it changed to shale? The entire weekend was moved to Swaffham the year after, which didn't seem to work either, so it went back to Skegness with the F1s added, and they've been on ever since. I think.
  6. It's only Tuesday morning, but someone is ready to go....
  7. The press release from Skegness says 48 F1s but does not give a list or mention any reserves.
  8. Weren't the F1s added due to falling numbers of the other formulae?
  9. As soon as a booking list is released, either me or someone else will post it on here.
  10. From 3pm on Saturday is the 2017 World Champions Challenge.
