Press release from Trackstar BriSCA Formula One stock cars return to the Adrian Flux Arena, Kings Lynn, on Saturday night (23 September, 5:30pm) for round three of the 2017 Shootout. Also in action are the BriSCA Formula Two stock cars in the first meeting of their inaugural National Series. There are currently 46 F1 Stock Cars and 54 F2 Stock Cars booked in to race Please note that any driver who turns up unbooked will not receive any complimentary admissions that they may be entitled to and may also not be allowed to race if the event is still fully booked. Drivers should book in to race through their association. Drivers please note that the pits open at 2pm and your early arrival will be appreciated. Drivers turning up in the last hour could well find themselves missing their first race. The Big League entry is headed by the new world champion, 445 Nigel Green, who added the gold roof to his European title at Ipswich last weekend. Now Green is focussed on the Shootout for the silver roof which had always been his primary target. Can the Leicestershire man win a third major title in 2017? New F1 Stock Car World Champion 445 Nigel Green will be looking to score lots of shootout points at King's Lynn this weekend The two most likely challengers to Greens supremacy are outgoing world champion 515 Frankie Wainman Jr, who won the final at Kings Lynn at the start of the month, and 390 Stuart Smith Jr who tops the Shootout points at this early stage. Fourth in the Shootout standing is 212 Danny Wainman who has gone well at the track this year and would love to finally take his first Kings Lynn final win. Next up, 217 Lee Fairhurst is not generally known for his prowess on the loose, but Fairhurst was a heat winner at the track in July and both are in good form. 217 Lee Fairhurst knows how to get to the front at King's Lynn Worksop driver 4 Dan Johnsons huge last-bend lunge at the World Final might have been unsuccessful, but it certainly thrilled the crowd and was typical of the entertainers all-or-nothing approach to racing. Home hero 16 Mat Newson will hope to be on the frontrunning pace at his local track, while 55 Craig Finnikin is something of a Kings Lynn specialist, being third in the all-time list of final winners at the track. The Shootout entry is completed by rising star 422 Ben Riley, late replacement 259 Paul Hines and tarmac specialist 464 Luke Davidson. 422 Ben Riley has quickly risen through the F1 ranks an d competes in the F1 Shootout for the first time this year Elsewhere, further local interest is provided by Cambridgeshire duo 76 Aaron Cozens and 415 Russell Cooper, while 74 Martin Chadwick makes his BriSCA F1 debut. There is also a very healthy Dutch contingent, including popular entertainer H54 Sierd de Vries and three of the Tesselaar family, who have often been regular visitors in both F1 and F2. Several Dutch visitors including the always entertaining H54 Sierd de Vries will be in action All the fun of the fair will be at King's Lynn on Saturday. The good news for mum and dad is that the ride will be free for the kids to go on as often as they like! Admission On the day admission is as follows Adult - £18 OAP - £16 12-15 year old - £7 Kids up to 11 free Family (2 adults & 2 12 - 15 year olds) - £46 Click here to save money and beat the queues with advance discount tickets - Highly recommended Please note that all bags will be searched on entry and coolboxes, glass and alcohol are not allowed to be bought into the venue. We have sectioned off UK and Holland so please only order for the designated countries as postal charges vary, it will display 'Holland' on the description. Don't they sometimes add non semi finalists onto the back of the grid in wcqr points scoring order to boost the numbers up ? Yes, that's usually the case. The reserves for the World Consi are in Nic's post earlier in this thread. -

F2 World Final - King's Lynn, 9th September 2017
Carl H replied to Carl H's topic in Essential Information
From briscaf2.com Following extensive review by BriSCA F2 on a number of technical issues, the result of the 2017 World Championship, staged at Kings Lynn on Saturday 9 September, is confirmed as follows: 1st H124 Wim Peeters 2nd 7 Gordon Moodie 3rd 226 Billy Webster 4th 298 Jake Walker 5th 101 Kelvyn Marshall 6th 905 Rob Mitchell 7th 886 Chris Bradbury 8th 700 Adam Rubery 9th H154 Kay Lenssen 10th 301 Charlie Whitfield BriSCA F2 unanimously agree that the cylinder-head bolts of the 1st placed car of Wim Peeters do not conform to the 2017 BriSCA F2 rulebook. However, widespread examples have been unearthed of perceived accepted practice in their use by other drivers/engine-builders across the UK and the Netherlands, and additional sufficient doubt cast over the legality of some other cylinder-head fixings now known to be in widespread use. BriSCA F2 agree that, in relation to the offset position of the engine within the car of Wim Peeters, the wording of rule 230.4 has been shown to be slightly flawed. Therefore, a sufficient lack of clarity means that pursuing a disqualification based on the observed offset measurements is not in the interests of BriSCA F2 as a whole. Further information for drivers, car-constructors, and engine-builders will be published in the near future. BriSCA F2 acknowledge the patience of the drivers and teams involved during the resolution of this complex matter. So much for "one night only".... -

Press release from Spedeworth Everyone’s been waiting for it counting the days and at last in the 56th season of Spedeworth Oval Motorsport at Foxhall Stadium, one of the most prestigious races in history comes to Ipswich. This coming Saturday night, 16th September, Spedeworth / Incarace Motorsports proudly presents the 2017 Brisca F1 Stock Car Racing Championship of the World, - a real ‘barnstormer’ of a meeting as the best UK, Dutch and New Zealand Drivers head into town with one thing on their mind, to take the World Championship Trophy back home with them! Once again Foxhall Heath Stadium hosts another ‘biggie’ of the year, and having staged one World Final for Brisca F1 previously when the event was promoted by another organisation, this time it is the turn of Spedeworth / Incarace to show what they can do to promote the event at their ‘Flagship Stadium’ and there is no doubting, whether you are a casual race fan or a “die hard” F1 fan, this is one meeting you simply would not want to miss. Meeting introduction is at 12:00 Mid Day with World Finalists Practice from 12:30 – 1:00. What happens if one of the qualifiers from the consolation semi wins? As they are not on the list I'd imagine they will be added after they have qualified. -
I think this is really good! You asked for comments, so these are mine. You mention that Dan Johnson has held "plenty of titles over the years". I wouldn't say "plenty" - he's won one Shootout and 2 Europeans so far. World Semi Finals are not title races. Already mentioned, but for completeness - Rob Speak was in the Semi Final due to the points he scored in the qualifying rounds at the end of last season. I thought you also missed out some details that would be interesting e.g. 169 only races shale and has never raced at Ipswich. Also, some comments about SPAG: Apostrophes e.g. DNF's, appearance's, World Final's, championship's, titles' Random capitals e.g. front Right puncture Several times you write he's when you mean his e.g. 543's less favoured surface Overuse of certain words - e.g. don't use 'however' more than once in the same sentence. On a forum like this, which is like-minded people chatting about their hobby, these don't matter in the slightest. But if you want a career in journalism, then it's really important that you get the hang of this sort of stuff. Not sure about it all being blue italic either...
