Helter Skelter Summary: 44 leads away. 587 and 525 tangle in the turn 4 exit and hit the infield tyres. 515 and 1 engage in some close racing for a couple of laps until Tom moves ahead. 1 moves 55 aside in turn 3. 217 is making moves to the front a long way ahead of his fellow star men. 515 is suffering a misfire. 217 now leads. 55 retires with a wheel off. 446 hits the concrete blocks on the home straight. 580 spins and stops in the middle of turn 4. Caution to move the cars to safety. 217 heads the restart. 545 hooks onto the back of 212 and both slam the turn 1 fence. The closing laps see a monster hit from 2nd placed Tom on Lee in the middle of turns 1 & 2. The race is over for them as both cars are damaged and limp around until race end. 457 picks up the win. That's it for the 2023 season proper folks. Back from Gala Night at Skegness, although as the F2s have been kicked out it has lost some of the appeal for me πŸ‘Ž
  2. Final Focus: 469 leads away. 580 and 235 spin in turn 4 on the opening lap. 515 retires with a flat front right. Caution for a stranded 163 on the exit of turn 4. 67 heads the restart. 55 in 8th at this early stage. 545 spins in turn 3. 212 retires with a flat right rear. Caution for 78 who is stopped facing the wrong way on the inside of the back straight. 67, 268 and 216 head this restart. 1 retires with a flat right rear. 530 holds up the race leading 67 car. 268 makes a dive at Henry into turn 1 but can not get the position. 67 then spins it in turn 3. 525 gives 548 a hit into turn 3. At halfway it is 55 in the lead. 216, 587 and 268 are stopped against the fence on the turn 2 exit. Caution to move them to safety. 55 heads this restart which is short-lived as 530 has not going and is stopped on the back straight. 16 moves ahead of 55 on the restart proper. 55 soons moves ahead again. 457 engages 16 in battle before falling foul of the dreaded right rear letting go. 525 another to suffer a flat right rear. 53 picks up an infield tyre on the exit of turn 4. This becomes wedged under the front end as he tries to get down the home straight. Caution to get both clear. 55, 216 and 289 head the restart. 501 takes 235 to the turn 3 fence but they tangle together which takes out 414 as well. 289 puts a hit on 53 into the turn 3 fence. 530 holds the race leading 55 up entering turn 3. Mat takes the advantage and powers the 16 through into a race winning lead. However, the wing mountings are loosening off as the laps wind down. 217 is circulating slowly for the closing laps. With the wing having held on Mat takes a popular victory πŸ‘
  3. Heat Three Happenings: 44 leads away. 499 loops it on the turn 4 exit. 1 passes 217 down the back straight. Lee doesn't follow through with a big hit into turn 3 though. 515 whacks 1 into the turn 1 fence, followed by a hit on 217 into turn 3. FWJ retires next lap. Caution for a stranded 235 on the exit of turn 4. 163 heads the restart. 216 spins 55 out in turn 1. Tom fires it in to Craig which slows his own progress. Lee has another chance to take it to the World Champ but again does not take advantage. 55 gives 364 a whack into turn 3. Next time around sees 364 fire 55 hard into the turn 1 fence. Rob comes to a stop on the back straight. Another caution to move cars to safety. 216 heads this restart. 235 spins out in turn 3 at the drop of the green. 55 pile-drives 20 into turn 3 with some force which collects 163 just ahead. Mark rides up the fence on two wheels and nearly goes over. Jack takes the win with 1 in 2nd. Tom is the 2023 National Points Champ πŸ‘
  4. Heat Two Happenings: 404 leads away. A very smoky 463 and 20 collide on the home straight and drift toward the infield concrete blocks. As in Heat 1 a big pile up early on in turns 3 & 4 involves all grades. 55 is forging through the field. 404, 67 and 545 come to grief on the exit of turn 4. 457 is carried down the home straight backwards by the pack of following cars. 53 gets shoved off-line and ends up on the infield. 212 and 235 clash in turn 2 with Danny riding up the fence. 446 tries to remove 55 with a big hit into turn 1. Caution for a stranded car. 163 and 78 head the restart. 582 gets spat out of the pack and ends up next to 53 on the centre. At halfway it is a top 3 of 163, 55 and 78. Soon after Craig takes the top spot and heads for the win.
  5. Welcome to Bradford folks. Heat One Happenings: 44 leads away. 446 spins in turn 3. A big pile up in turn 4 involving many cars slows the field. 1 and 217 make it through ok. Caution for stranded cars. 67 heads the restart. 211 and 580 spin in turn 4. 1 is slowed exiting turn 2 which allows 217 to move in with a side swipe down the back straight. Tom tries to come back at Lee into turn 3 but bounces off the fence. 217 moves clear. Caution for a stranded car in turn 3. 217, 216 and 1 are the top 3 on this restart at halfway. The World Champ slowly catches 217 and repeats Lee's move to move ahead to claim the win.

Helter Skelter Summary: 530 leads away. 212 and 515 head fencewards in turn 3 on the opener. 381 piles 157 into turn 3 but this only helps to propel Adam further ahead. 124 rides up the back straight fence. 452 now leads with 1 in 5th who is really motoring through the field at this early stage. At halfway Tom is into a race-winning lead. 5 to go and the top 3 of 1, 452 and 157 have gapped the rest. 3 to go sees 157 take 2nd from 452

  13. Final Focus: 530 leads away. Entering turn 1 Darren drifts fencewards and the lead goes to 226. 242 fires 498 into turn 1. 175 runs in the back of Ollie who is by now on the exit of turn 2. Caution to move the 498 car to safety. During the caution period flames are seen underneath the 515 car. All ok. The car is pushed onto the centre before the green. 452 heads the restart. 530 bounces off the back straight fence which causes chaos for the cars immediately behind. 501 is one that sees his race ended on the spot. 381 puts a hit on 157 into turn 3. Adam repays it big time into turn 1 which leaves Tyrone broadside. 287 and 12 get caught up in the incident. Caution to remove stranded cars. 452, 408 and 157 head this restart. 408 and 157 pass 452 on consecutive laps with hits into turn 3. 408 drifts wide in turn 1 allowing 157 through to lead. At 5 to go the positions are reversed as Ant takes over up front. 4 to go and 124 & 217 are moving in. 217 hits 124 out of his way into turn 3 to move into 2nd at two to go. The last lap sees a top duel to the line with Lee trying a side hit on Ant in turn 3. He holds on to cross the line half sideways with Lee trying his hardest to get up the inside. A great finish πŸ‘

Pit News: 551 - Checking the tracking. 339 - Cutting the front right corner off. 381 - Replacing the front left hub. 172 - Porta power on the front axle. 175 - Changing left halfshaft. 501 - Front corner work in op. 178 - Gearbox out. Input shaft cracked. The team are going to split the gearbox for further investigation.

Heat Two Happenings: 524 leads away. 339, 147 and 178 all end up in a heap in turn 2 on the opener. 339 retires to the infield. 530 and 452 dispute the top spot but tangle on the home straight. 408 and 242 clash in turn 2. Ant is left facing the wrong way. 381 comes to a stop on the entrance to turn 1 with a collapsed front left. Caution for stranded cars. 172 heads the restart. 12 takes over up front. 157 fires 172 into turn 3. 501 now leads. 1 up to 2nd. 515 shifts 157 and 12 with a hit into turn 3. 212 challenges 1 for position into turn 3 and takes the place. 515 does likewise a lap later. The World Champ has a right rear slow puncture and loses more places. 212 engages 501 in battle for the lead which allows FWJ to move in and take the top spot from both to set sail for the victory. 12 puts a big hit on 212 into turn 3 on the last lap but ends up bouncing off and nearly spinning out.
  17. Pit News: 178 - Investigating a gear selection problem. Unable to select 2nd gear throughout the race but dropped in ok on the slow down lap. 325 - Porta power on the front axle. 217 - Bleeding the brakes. 515 - Working on the right side exhausts. 555 - Porta power on the front right corner. 368 - As 555. 498 - Work required on both nerf rails. Welding the left, and porta power on the right. 339 - An overheating problem for the Ht.1 winner. Temp over 240 degrees in the race. On the scales it dumped all the water out. Ant is going to monitor the temp gauge after 5 laps in the next race. 16 - Mat is done for the day. The engine tightened up a couple of laps before he had to stop.

Heat One Happenings: 524 leads away. 524 stops in turn 1. 339 is into the lead. 178 and 124 are early retirements. 157 gives 172 a whack into turn 1. 515 climbs over the front corner of the off-line 172 car as they go down the back straight. 381 is the first blue to show. 16 up to 5th early on. 157 tries a slide job on 381 into turn 1 but doesn't gain the position. 16 comes to a stop in turn 4. 456 spins in turn 1. 157 makes it past 381 into 2nd place at 3 to go. A lap later Tyrone takes the place back. With 1 to go the World Champ has closed in on the pair but is unable to make a move in the last corner. Ant Lee is away up front and takes the win.

  23. Helter Skelter Summary: 44 leads away. 524 slows on the exit of turn 2. 582 and 8 clash on the entrance to turn 1. 217 and 16 are battling side by side for a couple of laps. Caution as the 499 car has performed its 2nd roll of the night in turn 1. All ok. 268 heads the restart. 212, 8 and 20 collide in turn 1 but all get going. 55 is soon into the lead. The top 3 at halfway are 55, 217 and 16. 1 is in 6th and motoring to the front. 4 to go and 55 is dispatched by the 1 car. 3 to go and 16 loses the place to the 1 car. The last lap sees a great fight through the last turn with the World Champ putting the bumper in. Lee holds on to take the victory to great applause. That's it folks.   24. Final Focus: 44 leads away 1 gets hooked onto 587 down the home straight but breaks free in turn 1. Early lap chaos in turn 4 sees a number of cars spinning and crashing which brings out the caution. 525 is the only one not to restart. 163 leads the short-lived restart as another multi-car pile up on the home straight brings the caution back out. This time most of the Shooters are involved. In addition to this the 55 car is bouncing off the fence down the outside of the exit of turn 4 after tangling with a slower car. 501 is on the hook and back to the pits before the restart which is led by 364 this time. 212 spins in turn 3. 216 is hunting down the 364 car. 163 loops it in turn 4 as 217 is about to pass which gives Lee a quick decision as to which side to take. 216 now leads after a clean pass of 364. 515 slows with a flat right rear. Turn 1 is starting to break up in places with a few bumps appearing. At halfway 216 slows in turn 4 and retires to the infield. 16 forces his way past 217 for the lead. A caution for a huge barrel roll for 163 down the home straight. The car is left with the front axle hanging off amongst other things. Mark is all ok πŸ‘ 16, 217 and 1 are the top 3 on this restart. Tom shoves Lee wide through turns 1 & 2 to advance his position. King John rolls! The 53 car goes upside down in turn 1. After a few mins he's out and on his feet. A slow walk to the cart and then dropped off at the pit gate. All ok πŸ‘. 16, 1 and 217 head this latest restart. 555 collects an infield tyre on the home straight. 1 does a right turn hit on the 16 to take the lead through turn 2. Mat is sent off-line and bounces off the back straight fence. Lee pounces and the 217 car is through. 2 has the rear panhard rod dragging on the track and slows on the last lap to save the rear tyre which is smoking heavily. The Hitman takes his 3rd victory of the night.
