  1. Photos from Bloomington Speedway now uploaded. They have been racing at Bloomington since the 1920s. It is a superbly prepared facility and track and the red clay track looks great in the picturesque surroundings Despite the extremely hot daytime temperature ( And night time for that matter!) the track was so well prepared that two or more racing lines were available to the drivers all night. Photos show notice board at the pit entrance. The side by side racing. The huge crowd that had gathered since mid afternoon onwards. Live timing and scoring that is on show for all to see at the United States Auto Club (USAC) mobile headquarters ( Printed heat race and final line up sheets are available there too). Cars were lined up on front straight before the final giving fans chance to see their heroes , this is Levi Jones who drives the Tony Stewart owned sprint car. Take a look at some more photos at : http://www.stoxphotos.com/photos/
  2. Back to the Hoosier State for next update, and before anyone gets the wrong idea, if you are not aware, Hoosier is the official name for a resident of the US Sate of Indiana. The State of Indiana adopted the nickname "Hoosier State" more than 150 years ago. "Hoosiers" is also the nickname for the Indiana University athletic teams. Hoosier is sometimes used in the names of Indiana-based businesses and organizations. Photos from Browstown Speedway, Brownstown, Indiana. The track is nice and wide and Wingless sprints go around there 4 wide or more! Take a look at some more photos at : http://www.stoxphotos.com/photos/

  5. Another update from Indiana Sprint week, this time from the Terre Haute Action Track. A big half mile track that lives up to it's name! As you can see the photographers stand a bit close to the track, leaning on the inside guard rail. Sprint cars have no silencers in Indiana so coming that close at over 100 mph does blow the cobwebs out of you! the race track is at the Vigo County Fairgrounds, and it was the last day of the County Fair, which was good to walk around during the day, but sadly the rides located just behind turns 1 & 2 were closed when the meeting finished! http://www.stoxphotos.com/photos/
  6. Some Sprint car photos from unsanctioned show at Twin Cities Raceway Park, North Vernon, Indiana added. Temperature reached 107f that day, it was hot!!!! Some Late Model Stock Car Photos from Brownstown Speedway, Brownstown, Indiana added. They have been racing at Brownstown since 1952. It's about 8 car widths wide which gives some great 3 wide racing! Photos added while reading Alan Brown's book "History of American Speedways"
