  1. Now you're talking Andy 👌. I'd better start polishing my boots....
  2. Better add Giant and Riggerman on the booking list.. Ha! I knew this was going to happen, I have a work commitment and can't go.... aaaargh!
  3. Unfortunately there's plenty of turkey left down here. I think it's because the tractor drivers at BV aren't a patch on the ones they had at Coventry so I can't bring myself to go 😂. I will however see you at Birmingham, your preferred surface 😉.
  4. Trackstar - is the F1 consi semi being run on WF night again? For me, that decision alone has a big impact on the meeting format and whether or not the saloons should be on: if youre running the consi semi youve got a lot of non-qualified WF drivers that you automatically have to give a booking to before then considering allocation of bookings to others that want to race from the UK & overseas. Thanks. Edit: Carl, where are my apostrophes going? :-)
  5. Ipswich is a great facility Craig but apart from the small grandstand on the home straight, the rest of the venue is very exposed to the elements - all of the terracing and the back straight grandstands do not have cover. http://photos.stoxnet.com/displayimage.php?pid=74444
  6. Ha! More than just a few lumps of coal I'm afraid mate lol, it's expensive down this way! There is some room for your David Brown on the driveway though.... Great booking list at 52 cars, just need the King to make his 2017 season debut to bring it up to 53 cars of course!!
  7. Thanks for the results team - and for the gallery pics Roy.
  8. Should it be 197 sixth in the final. from memory, I think it was 195 Dean Whitwell Thanks for the results as always team. Counter - it was 197 not Dean; 84 and 445 got passed him with a few laps left to run on what was a fairly quiet night for Ryan.
  9. I try my best with every meeting! They're much appreciated Carl and a very welcome addition when you started doing them a couple of years ago each Monday morning :-) Thanks!
  10. Absolutely Trev. Many comments recently about some relatively low car turnouts (though admittedly mainly on shale) but us fans can definitely add some hype to this meeting and embrace the fact there's going to be over 60 F1's racing this weekend. With many fans having last weekend off with no Coventry and saving some money, what better reason do we need to get back racing than 60 cars under lights at Skeggy. Should be a belter!
  11. Ha! See you at Lynn Andy. Drinks are on you.... .
  12. Thanks Gerry. Going slightly off topic but just to add, many people are unaware that this week speeding fines have increased massively as they are now outrageously based on your weekly income! Ouch! Link below.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-39686894
  13. Thanks Ozzy, much appreciated. Huge thanks from me to Jane and Nic for their efforts every weekend - despite usually being at the meetings I often check the results thread whilst on a pit walk to see the top ten after each race. Superstars with flashing lights, both of you.
  14. Indeed John. With a very early start and lots of cars booked in to support the event, an allcomers race of some sort would have seen a big grid of cars and is arguably more in keeping with a 'gala' to bring the season to a close at the end of the night. I'd feel a bit short changed as a driver with the distinct possibility of only gridding for two races. If the meeting runs smoothly and there's time, hopefully they'll decide to throw on an extra race at the end for those who want to get back out on track for a last thrash around - even if it is directly after the programmed F1 Final.
  15. The A16 is now going to be open again this weekend.... http://www.bostonstandard.co.uk/news/good-news-quadrant-road-no-longer-needs-to-close-1-7617516
  16. I'd imagine the diversion route will be via London Road to the west of the A16 and it will probably result in long queues. At a guess the quickest and easiest route will be to turn right at the Kirton roundabout on the A16 onto Station Road and Horseshoe Lane and then head on the East side of the A16 down Low Road, you then re-join the A16 at the Spirit of Endeavour pub just south of Boston and so have cut that section of the A16 out. It's only about 5-10 mins longer than the usual route and I doubt many will go that way so it will hopefully be clear. Hope that helps a few.... I'll try and put a map on tonight of the way I've described above when I'm home from work. If they divert up London Road to the West of the A16 then I'd recommend going the other way along the East side as that won't be nearly as busy if the traffic is bad - in which case turn off at Kirton and you'll be at Boston in 10 minutes....

  18. Just bumping this thread back up with a direct link to the just giving page HERE for those who would rather use that method than donate via text. There have been almost 3000 views of this thread and so far 9 donations to this great tribute to Tracy and the LOROS hospice....
  19. I've known Mark for a few years now and had the pleasure of knowing Tracy for the last couple of years too. A very nice idea by A1 , count me in for a donation towards the trophy and the collection. It was great to see you back on the terraces at Coventry Mark, my thoughts are with you mate.
  20. I'll have some commission for the first pic then Iain! Clicky
  21. It's actually better to get through Boston now the traffic lights are out Colin. They put them in on two of the major roundabouts a few years ago (at way too much expense) to try and control traffic flow - most of the town has been moaning about them ever since so they have turned them off again now and the traffic does move a little better again. It's can still be a nightmare getting through Boston, it has been crying out for a bypass for years as it gets a lot of through traffic trying to get to the coast. People travelling to Skeggy from the North can avoid Boston but others don't really have a choice and have to go straight through it (unless you know a few of the back roads and side-streets to try and speed things up ). Also there will be no football on at the moment so if you're trying to race through the town at about 5pm then it will be a bit better at this time of year (not that they get many fans there now lol). (I'm not on Boston's tourist information bureau or anything, just used to live there ).
  22. I always use Shell for fuel and have a Shell Mastercard. Each time I buy fuel I put it on this card and it gives me back a 3% rebate (so on current prices just over 3p a litre). As with most of these sorts of cards and schemes the APR is a killer so always make sure you set up a direct debit to clear the balance off each month and then you incur no interest or charges. Plus it also means the money is in your current account longer each month earning you interest - and not them! One of the best things about this card is you can also use your Shell Drivers Club Membership card at the same time which earns you reward points based on the number of litres used each month and then they send you vouchers for B&Q, Comet etc etc. God I sound like I work in PR for Shell, but as has been said - every little helps.
