F1 World Qualifying Round plus F2, Ministox, Heritage F1, & Hot Fords. Start time 1.00pm Booking list to follow.

F1 plus National Hot Rods & Superstox Start time 6.30pm IT’S NOT often the BriSCA F1 Stock Cars and National Hot Rods appear on the same bill, but this rare treat is in store at Northampton International Raceway on Saturday April 23rd. The BriSCA F1s are in rude health with huge car turnouts everywhere so far in 2016 and last weekend contested a World Qualifying double header, silver top 4 Dan Johnson dominating the Final at Birmingham before on Sunday there were scenes of delirium as the great entertainer 45 Nigel Harrhy held his nerve to win his first ever Final at Hednesford, only for his car to fail a weight check handing 12 Michael Scriven the spoils. Other salient moments included a first ever win for 555 Frankie Wainman Jnr Jnr in the Birmingham Grand National, a comeback win for 84 Tom Harris at Hednesford, a new lap record at the Staffordshire venue for 445 Nigel Green plus wins for white tops 24 Mark Adkins and 283 Alex Wass at Wheels as some of the superstars struggled. World Champion 318 Rob Speak in particular had a disappointing weekend and will be eager to bounce back. The rumbling thunder of the F1 pack will be countered perfectly by the high-revving wail of the National Hot Rods, contesting their latest World Series England round. The category recently staged its European Championship up at Lochgelly in Scotland and 162 Carl Waller-Barratt took the spoils for his first major title in the sport, and he won the last meeting staged at Northampton on Good Friday so will be among the favourites here. 491 Colin Smith is also a Northampton track specialist while 3 Steve Dudman has been pulling in good results since his return to racing after a break of some 20 years, but the man everyone will be watching will be 304 Danny Fiske after a string of wins in recent World Series rounds. Booking list to follow.

I've had a quick trawl through the superb BriSCA F1 Stox website and the biggest car turnout at Birmingham I've found is 64 cars at the Semi-Final meeting in August 2009. The best for a non-semi meeting is 56 cars at the World Qualifying Round in April 2011. So as long as most of them turn up, we could be on for a new record on Saturday.
-
Apart from World Final meetings, one of the biggest turnout at Hednesford was 67 cars at the World Qualifying round in May 1988. The big re-opening meeting in March 1988 had 61 cars. Info from the brilliant BriSCA F1 Stox website.

THE MOST powerful cars in oval racing visit the UK’s fastest short oval for the one and only time in 2016 as the BriSCA F1 Stock Cars come to Hednesford Hills Raceway on Sunday April 17th. There are few finer sounds or sights than a grid of the ground-shaking 600bhp Chevrolet V8-engined leviathans rumbling their way around the banking of the Cannock Chase oval, with the drivers in pursuit of World Championship qualifying points. All the star names will be present in pursuit of places for the semi-finals in the summer and a place on the coveted grid at Coventry Stadium in September. World Champion 318 Rob Speak and National Points title holder 4 Dan Johnson will head the entry but there will be hordes of challengers to the champions including local stars the Neachell family, the Wainmans including 515 Frankie Wainman Jnr who has been winning everything on shale so far this season and will seamlessly switch to tarmac as always, while 212 Danny Wainman captured the Under-25 Championship at Birmingham in a wet November last year. 21 Mark Gilbank took the first Coventry final of the year last time out and the Scriven family are very much Hednesford specialists, while 231 Daniel van Spijker recorded the first tarmac final win of the year at Skegness on Good Friday for just reward for his travelling efforts from the Netherlands every week. General Admission : £18.00 Concession : OAP’s (60 Female, 65 Male) £16.00 Concession : Children (5-14yrs) £7.00 Track View Parking £7.00 Programme : £2.00 Drivers booked for this event as at 11th April 8pm 50 Cars 2 Paul Harrison 11 Neil Scriven 12 Michael Scriven 14 Roger Bromiley 16 Matt Newson 19 Jonathon Horne 24 Mark Adkins 25 Bradley Harrison 28 Thomas Boyer 36 Jordan Falding 45 Nigel Harrhy 55 Craig Finnikin 56 Graham Moulds 70 Aaron Leach 84 Tom Harris 103 Richard Masterson 127 Austin Moore 150 Mick Sworder 166 Bobby Griffin 172 Micky Randell 183 Steve Whittle 186 Todd Jones 196 Murray Jones 197 Ryan Harrison 202 Henry Hunter 212 Danny Wainman 217 Lee Fairhurst 220 William Hunter 224 Mark Gray 231 Daniel van Spijker 283 Alex Wass 300 Paul Carter 318 Rob Speak 325 Richard Davies 361 Steve Reedman 369 James Tucker 372 Colin Goodswen 390 Stuart Smith 401 Steven Webster 422 Ben Riley 445 Nigel Green 446 Joe Booth 448 Jason Eaton 460 Chris Cooke 462 Scott Davids 464 Luke Davidson 501 George Elwell 515 Frankie Wainman Jnr 518 Stuart Shevill Jnr 555 Frankie Wainman Jnr Jnr

The first Incarace meeting for the UK’s most powerful oval racers sees a World Championship qualifying round staged at the Bordesley Green quarter mile and all the star names will be present in pursuit of qualifying places for the semi-finals in the summer and a place on the coveted grid at Coventry Stadium in September. World Champion 318 Rob Speak and National Points title holder 4 Dan Johnson will head the entry but there will be hordes of challengers to the champions including local stars the Neachell family, the Wainmans including 515 Frankie Wainman Jnr who has been winning everything on shale so far this season and will seamlessly switch to tarmac as always, while 212 Danny Wainman captured the Under-25 Championship at Wheels in a wet November last year. 21 Mark Gilbank took the first Coventry final of the year last time out and has gone well at Birmingham in the past, while 231 Daniel van Spijker recorded the first tarmac final win of the year at Skegness on Good Friday for just reward for his travelling efforts from the Netherlands every week. Well, that escalated quickly... I've removed 23 posts from this thread. Not the first time I've been called a mass-deleter (I think that's what they said ). From now on, let's just focus on the F1s on here, eh? Moving on... the BSCDA website now lists 43 cars booked. I think that's the biggest turnout for a non Semi-Final meeting for quite a few years.
-
I believe there were issues with the transponder system.
-
Info from Mr Rees is that the turnstiles open at 11am.
-
On the BSCDA site: Pit gate 9.30am, Turnstiles TBA! I always get there at least 1.5 hours before the start time and I've never had to wait for them to open up.
