  2. He was H221 when he raced the World Final last year, which is probably where the confusion has come from. H221 has also been Marco Jenninga. Rick has confirmed that it is him that is racing (as H14), and not Marco or any other H221. Also heard that Stef van Eck may be coming over?
  3. Mark Paulson meeting preview BriSCA Formula One stock cars return to King’s Lynn on Saturday night (21 October, 5:30pm) in the latest round of their Shootout for the silver roof. Support comes from two-litre Saloon Stock Cars contesting their Driver of the Year, and a second outing of the season for V8 Hotstox. There are currently 45 F1 Stock Cars, 44 2L Stock Cars and 18 V8 Stock Cars booked in to race Please note that any driver who turns up unbooked will not receive any complimentary admissions that they may be entitled to and may also not be allowed to race if the event is still fully booked. Drivers please note that the pits open at 2pm and your early arrival will be appreciated. Drivers turning up in the last hour could well find themselves missing their first race. BriSCA F1 390 Stuart Smith Jr currently has a very healthy lead in the Shootout standings as he seeks his first silver roof. Smith was certainly the man to beat at King’s Lynn a month ago when he scorched to a heat-and-final double. He then returned to fourth in the grand national from the lap handicap, despite losing his wing mid-race. If the rest of the shootout drivers allow the in form 390 Stuart Smith to dominate on Saturday like he did the last King's Lynn expect this aerofoil to change to silver for 2018. After strong recent form, which included winning the final at Belle Vue, and finishing third in the main event at King’s Lynn last month, 217 Lee Fairhurst lies second in the points. Third last year and second in 2013, can Fairhurst go all the way and lift his first national points title this year? Having recently celebrated 30 years in the formula, there is nothing that 515 Frankie Wainman Jr hasn’t achieved in BriSCA F1. The current British Champion is third in the Shootout points and would love to lift a 14th national points title, which would be his first since 2008. First and second in the past two King’s Lynn finals, he is in good form and will be one to watch. 515 Frankie Wainman was a double race winner at the last King's Lynn and will be very dangerous this Saturday! Local driver 16 Mat Newson has lifted himself into contention with consistently good scores, particularly on shale. The popular racer who puts so much into the sport is surely long overdue a first major title. He will have plenty of support on the terraces as he hunts down those in front. The current top-six in the Shootout points is completed by 212 Danny Wainman and world champion 445 Nigel Green. King’s Lynn hasn’t been the kindest track to Wainman over the years but he has shown good form on the Saddlebow Road shale this season and could be a dark horse. Green, the season-long points leader, admits that winning the silver roof would mean more to him than the world crown, but his Shootout campaign hasn’t gone to plan so far. He needs a big score to haul himself back into contention – finding the form he showed at the track on 2 September would put him in good shape. World Champion 445 Nigel Green desperately needs a big points haul on Saturday to put himself back into contention for the Shootout King’s Lynn specialist and Sheffield final winner 55 Craig Finnikin will certainly be a major threat on the loose this weekend, even if he’s unlikely to challenge for the Shootout overall. Meanwhile 259 Paul Hines is a multiple final winner at the track in the past and first-time ‘Shooter’ 422 Ben Riley is showing a good account of himself, so both remain strong contenders on track. Beyond the Shootout entry, we are pleased to welcome another very healthy showing of Dutch drivers. Their prowess on the loose, and action-packed racing style, are well known and makes them a very popular addition to proceedings. The Dutch Drivers always put on a great display when they race at King's Lynn and it is great to see H179 Sjaak Kenite making the journey back to King's Lynn after racing at the Adrian Flux Arena last month Having just missed out on Shootout qualification, 555 Frankie Wainman Jr Jr will be keen to show what he can do, and King’s Lynn expert 335 Mark Woodhull will also be one to watch. Local driver 326 Mark Sargeant returns to action and will have plenty of support, as will Cambridgeshire men 76 Aaron Cozens and 415 Russell Cooper, and the ever-popular 45 Nigel Harrhy. The ever popular 45 Nigel Harrhy probably had his best King's Lynn meeting to date last time out - will he be able to continue his KL form on Saturday? Funfair Rides All the fun of the fair will be at King's Lynn on Saturday. The good news for mum and dad is that the ride will b e free for the kids to go on as often as they like! 4. CAN THEY STOP HIM? 390 Stuart Smith will enter this Saturday's F1 Stock Car National Series Round with a massive 60 point lead. The last Lynn meeting saw Smith take a heat and final double - if he manages that again on Saturday the rest of his competitors might as well send him a congratulations card for winning the silver roof! The Lynn National Series round has always been pivotal to the whole competition. If 390 scores a hatfull of points on Saturday history dictates the silver will probably be his - if someone steps up and takes him on they could have built the foundations for a late silver roof challenge! What will happen? There is only one way to find out!!

  7. Thank you to everyone that has put themselves forward. The window for nominations is now closed. I will create a poll containing the nominees and their own words about why you should vote for them. This will be at the weekend, or sooner, depending on when receive their input. Each member will have three votes to use as they see fit. Either vote for three different candidates, or vote for the same candidate 3 times if you prefer, or any combination in between - it's entirely up to you. The poll will run until 27th October, after which the 3 candidates with the highest votes will become the fan representatives.
  8. From BriSCA: Thank you to everyone for the responses to the proposal for a Q & A initiative. There was quite a few substantive 'comments' in the feedback. As this was proposed by myself to be 'handled' through Stoxnet firstly in delegating 3 members to undertake the forum, thought needs to be given on the 'next step' to make it productive and POSITIVE. BriSCA/BMB/BSCDA meet at the end of the month and this is very much on the Agenda and a date of 15th November has been 'pencilled in' for the forum. Over the next few weeks and in time for the BMB meeting it would be useful if firstly the 3 proposed contributors are formalised and then someone 'summarises' the positive points raised and 'sent over' for some prior discussion. We then will need to discuss prior to the event the 'structure' to ensure it is harmonious, constructive, positive and useful and we all agree protocols to ensure it is informative and not become either personalised of go 'off piste' Steve Rees

  13. Well, this morning I was in two minds about scrapping this thread and starting again, as I don't think it shows the sport or Stoxnet itself in a particularly good light. Had to raise a smile at this from Startrax, though... Belle Vue - Sunday 8th October 4.pm In light of a reported outbreak of social media 'foot and mouth' elsewhere, there is actually BriSCA F1 Stock Cars in action this Sunday at Manchester's Belle Vue Stadium, under the CovStox banner - helping our colleagues out from Coventry whilst they find a new arena. It's an extra' F1 date for the North West and a Shoot Out round et - al. As of this morning 29 F1s are entered plus 24 V8 Hot Stox and the awesome National Ministox. As usual gates open 2.30.pm and FREE car parking as usual is available on Showcase which we do try to monitor. 15. BriSCA F2 racer Stephen Mallinson is moving into the big league for a couple of meetings this season and makes his F1 debut at local track Belle Vue this Sunday. Stephen has been racing for many years, spending several successful seasons behind the wheel of a Rebel Racer before moving into the F2s. Highly successful on the shale Stephen will be looking forward to stepping out onto the Manchester oval this Sunday.
  16. I think you might be in luck......
  17. This Sunday sees the CovStox team on tour for Round 3 of their 2017 events. Belle Vue is the stage ready and prepared for the BriSCA F1 National Points Shoot Out Round 5 sponsored by RBM. Leading the pack in the silver chase is local racer Stuart Smith 390. He was on stunning form at Belle Vue for Round 2 where he cruised around to take the Final victory, will we see a repeat performance on Sunday? He is currently 52 points ahead of second place man Frankie Wainman 515. The British Champion will be pumped and determined to c lose that gap and is no stranger to tasting victory around the Manchester oval. It’s far from a two horse race though as Daniel Wainman, Lee Fairhurst, Mat Newson and World Champ Nigel Green will be determined to stop the top two stealing the glory whilst the Flying Finn will be in stealth mode and ready to pounce after his final win last week at Sheffield. Throw in the remainder of the Shoot Out racers and of course all the non silver chasers and we are in for a night of action. Joining the F1s are the V8 Hotstox and National Ministox both of which were competing for their gold roofs at Buxton a couple of weeks ago. We are delighted to see the World Champions from all three formulas at Belle Vue and they will be ready to show off their silverware in front of the crowd as we will have a World Champion parade to kick start the meeting at 3.30pm Advance tickets are available from www.coventrystoxtickets.com/new_event Turnstiles open at 2.30pm World Champions Parade from 3.30pm Racing from 4pm
