  1. Hows the drainage at BV? Weather not looking very good between now and the finale!!
  2. If I'm right, the track maximum at Skeg is 32 - in which case I wouldn't be at all surprised if indeed the F1 numbers have already been capped at 56 (24-car semi + 32car heat). 10 from the final, 14 from the heat and perhaps 8 from the consolation to qualify for the meeting final maybe? With two other formulae on, i can't imagine there will be time for 2 heats from the 32 non-semi drivers. However, I have been wrong before and I will no doubt be wrong again in future
  3. Rob Speak's name on a booking list - something I never thought I would see again - cannot wait!!!
  4. Always enjoy the loons, no doubt they are great entertainment - like most folks on here, though, I don't see them often enough to have gained sufficient knowledge about the drivers, form, beefs etc to develop that occasional keen interest into a proper following. For me, the F1s will always be the main event...no disrespect to others intended.
  5. Doesn't matter how many, no, it's not why I asked the question - I'm just curious to see which of the WF semi drivers will be there to get their eye in. It's not in doubt that I'll be there - and will be there in 3 weeks' time too!
  6. Thanks very much for the results services, guys - and for your commentary too, Rod. I found it really great to have a different 'at-track' perspective - enhanced for me what is already a great service and certainly didn't detract. Cheers again, team!!
  7. I doubt he would take his place on shale. That's why Team Davidson always have two drivers, so at least one of them will do both surfaces. Luke definitely didn't take his place on the shale semi grid last year. I think he was booked in to race as I seem to recall and then withdrew close to the event.
  8. I'm not the first to start the speculation as to whether he might make a comeback for one race (maybe two races) only
  9. Don't disagree with what you're saying here, fella - however, 217/318/197/196 Skeg Tarmac form is fairly impressive and I think there remains a chance he might better fancy his chances in shale. Time will tell, I guess! Anyone know when Nigel has to make his decision?
  10. Be interesting to see which surface Nigel goes for but I think there's every chance your wish might be granted! That said, will Nige risk going to Skeg and potentially having Speaky a couple of rows behind him????? I would LOVE to see that - in the refurbed/new engined 84 car - which of course used to be his anyway!!!! C'mon Rob, make it happen!!!!
  11. There's 41 other drivers on that list capable of that. Indeed, Franny - although few that have demonstrated it with the same frequency/intensity this year!
  12. Great to see that common sense prevailed at this week's hearing and TH#84 has been reinstated to the racing fraternity. GREAT! Now time for him to settle another brakes issue/Sheffield score with FWJ!!!
  13. Plus it's Father's Day. So no excuses for needing a pass out PS What odds can I get for at least one of the following cars either not making it or having a tough time with repairs as a result of heavy Ipswich damage: 1 4 84
  14. All being well, yes...apparently, there are plans for JD to ensure suitable season-long grid positions for both #1 and #4 immediately in front of #84 and #464
  15. Thanks again to all for the good-natured input on this very interesting topic. Having now had 4 days to reflect, I am feeling a good deal more relaxed about it than I did on Sunday....and am VERY excited to see Tom #84 exact some fierce revenge on both #1 and #4
  16. Leigh. It was normal(full format) heat points down to 12th place in every heat. Forming the grid for the final. Cheers, Daniel, much appreciated
  17. Thanks for getting involved in the discussion, it's certainly very interesting to me - but you misunderstood! I wasn't for a second suggestion a caution should have been thrown just because DJ was blocking/slowing down....the caution happened as a result of someone in the wires (I think) due to the chain reaction of Dan slowing down to bunch the field up. I think Dan thought or hoped that by causing a blockage, there would likely be more chance of someone ending up in the fence or pointing the wrong way....does that make more sense?
  18. Yeah, you're right there, fella - at least the bit about the recovering Mark Gilbank slowing Tom enough for FWJ to paste him...that said, I think it was the concertina effect of Dan slowing the pack that caused the caution in the first place? Feeling a little less annoyed this morning but still disappointed!
  19. I know the answer to this - the whole slowing down tactic was an attempt by Dan to cause a caution...thinking he could perhaps join at the back of the pack and no longer be lapped...it backfired, though, and he was asked to rejoin the train in the on-track position he was in when the yellow was thrown....
  20. I've only been back into the sport for the last couple of years following a 25 year hiatus...perhaps the instance you mentioned was a little before my return? Having only really seen it as a tactic for the first time at the shootout last year, I think I'm disapproving of it generally...the caveat being that it will likely form the basis of another on-track rivalry which can only be good for the sport! I will also add, however, that Frank Jnr Jnr pulling back out of the fence right into the path of the oncoming Tom having been despatched by Harris when a lap down was also very very cynical and a little uncalled for - arguably on both sides!!
  21. Anyone know the heat points system that was used to determine grid positions? Certainly wasn't the 'normal' meeting points system...grateful if anyone can advise please?
