BRADFORD F1 WORLD FINAL RESULTS 11/9/21
Roy B replied to calamity507's topic in Essential Information
Heat Two Happenings 268 pulls off before the rolling lap. 11 and 238 go around at the end of the homestraight with Rich retiring with a flat right rear. 87 pulls off on the restart. 345 hits the turn 3 fence and gets collected by 215. 235 hits the backstraight fence and bounces onto the pitch. A second caution waves with 45 in the lead. Unfortunately it looks as though Nige has drive-train problems as he gets tractored off before the restart. H410 whacks the front two out of the way and takes a lead he increases to the finish. A superb performance once again. 446 nursing a buckled right rear wheel catches 3 with a lap to go and puts in a challenge which Chris resists. -
BRADFORD F1 WORLD FINAL RESULTS 11/9/21

Hi folks, it's the big day at Odsal. Who'd have thought this day would happen a couple of years ago! Heat One Happenings 424 takes an early lead as 88 and 524 tangle in turn 3 collecting 249 and 137 a lap later. 424 has to give best to a combined assault from 24 and 136 following a restart. 525 catches 24 and engages him in battle with 127 closing. 532 pulls up in a cloud of steam in turn 2. 525 takes the lead and the victory. -
Final Focus 524 and 295 lock together on the opening lap in turn 3 causing mayhem through the corner for the following pack. 268 and 525 crash out in turn 3. The now leading 238 half spins in turn 1 which allows H410 to close in. Approaching turn 3 Jelle puts the big one in on Rich who rolls it after hitting a backmarking 524. The restart sees 326 try a move on H410 to no avail as Jelle is off on a flyer to the victory. Sarge was left to try and fight off the Netherland onslaught which came in rapid succession. England v Holland race cancelled owing to lack of time so that's it for tonight folks. Back from the big day tomorrow 👍

Heat Two Happenings A fast race with the lads from the Netherlands adapting well to the Odsal track. H210 takes an early lead once again as 235 goes around in turn 4. H337 jumps the tyres down the straight. 87 and 524 crash out together in turn 2.

Hi folks. Welcome to the WF weekend. Heat One Happenings 137 and H210 lead the field away. 326 clouts the backstraight fence on lap 1 before coming to a stop with 532 on the exit of turn 2. 238 and 137 tangle and stop in turn 3. H210 leads off at the restart. H248 and 235 collide entering the homestraight which leaves Mick facing the oncoming traffic. 87 is flying into the bends but loses time drifting up to the fence on the exits. The last lap sees Sam caught up with a marker tyre at the end of the backstraight.

A four wide couple of warm up laps set the scene in front of a big crowd. 226 pulls clear of the field at the drop of the green as 968 spins in turn 4 which causes a pile up. A caution flag period sees the 24 car out with front end damage from this initial pile up. 183 out with a flat front right. 606 pulls off also. 647 now in the lead sets sail at a rate of knots as the green waves. NI998 puts a big hit in on 38 which sees Dave rattle down the back straight fence. Meanwhile the 7 car is making steady progress through the field. The closing laps see 647 encounter backmarkers in turn 2 which gives H124 a chance. He dives in but only makes light contact with Chris and costs himself time. The remaining laps see Fast Eddie pull clear to claim the win 19 yrs after his first WF. Result: 647, H124, 560, 226, NI747, 7, 801, B96, 674, NI998, 16, 38 and 968.

Mainly mechanical and punctures accounted for a number of cars.

My thanks and appreciation to the three of you for the results and race reports today. It made good reading in between races at St.Day. Superb to see that King John has qualified for the WF. -

Semi 2 968 sets sail from the pole to an apparent victory without any challengers. Speaky on it with a couple of good hits with the front bumper to move from 7th to 3rd on the first lap. First caution to retrieve a stranded 921. Restart sees the top placings remain static with the exception of 24 and 801 having a dice. Speaky's race comes to an end after he half spins in turn 4 with a possible halfshaft failure and is collected by 24 and 801. Following a second caution the race settles down with 968 leading from 226. 24 gets shoved into the turn 4 plate and ends up with a broken wheelguard which sees him forced to pull off. 647 has made good progress from the 8th row to move into 3rd. The top 3 race out the closing laps without change of position. After the race it is announced that 968 is docked two places for a start infringement. As is usual there was no explanation over the p.a as to what this infringement was. Result: 226, 647, 968, 13, 527, 149, 542, 618, 324 and 9.

Semi 1 Fairly routine race. One caution period for a 915 rollover in turn 4. 183 and 560 had a minor battle for a couple of laps early on. Luke just taking 4th off Charlie on the last corner after 183 drifted up to the fence. Result: 606, 38, 905, 560, 183, 377, 78, 126, 4 and 890.

GN Notes 175 pulls off at race start. 20 goes around in turn 2, with 5 doing likewise in turn 4. 515 going like a rocket leaves his fellow superstars in his wake. 55 and 1 have an early race battle swapping places between them. 25 and 220 have broken away up front and race on with an equal and static gap between them. After a caution period late in the race bunches the pack up 515 hits a marker tyre on the backstraight and ends up facing skywards with the front end. He comes back down to earth with a spectacular landing and races on. The last lap sees him launch 446 into the turn 4 plate as 220 takes the win. That's it from me folks. Back in 3 weeks from the WF weekend 👍

Final Focus 2 spins it in turn 2 in the early laps. 16 and 515 clash down the backstraight and both end up facing the wrong way. The 1 car splits the pair and races between them. After a caution 166 whacks 175 into turn 1, and 5 on the way out of turn 2. 93 loops it in turn 4 taking the World Champ with him. 20 and 166 head the restart on a freshly watered track. 34's years of experience come to the fore as he masters the slippery track from the off and fires the 5 car into the turn 1 fence. However, 515 catches 34 and deals with him in one hit. By halfway 217 has caught the race leading 166 car. He puts a hit in but Bobby rides it out and increases the gap between them. 515 now has them in his sights. With 4 to go 217 makes a successful move on 166 stick and sets sail for the win. 515 tries for a last bender on Bobby but fails to connect.

Consolation Catch Up 211, 22, 404 and 13 end up early casualties. 463 spins out in turn 2. 237 and 87 lead off after a caution. Young guns 20 and 392 battle as 166 closes in. 175's front end gets stuck underneath 392's rear bumper and both take a wayward route down the homestraight. 220 takes a chance on a move up the inside just as the gap closes. He ends up whacking one of the big tyres on the infield and suffice to say remains where he landed. On a re-watered track after a caution period the remaining cars slip and slide. 87 and 25 dice up front as 166 closes in. Bobby takes an outside line around Sam who gets walloped by 321 a lap later. He gives chase and is joined by 175 as they trade places. Whilst these three lose time 20 and 120 catch up. Entering turn one on the last lap 321 slide slams 120 but spins himself off Casey's nerf rail. JJ's race was at a reduced pace as the 555 car still has problems but he qualified for the Final as only seven finished.

Pit News 175 in an ex 127 car. Two cars who haven't been out yet: 555 - The team trying to diagnose a steering problem. 172 - One bank of rockers u/s. Robin ( Mat's dad ) working on it. 20 - Mark welding the front corner. 127 - Rear panhard rod change. 55 - Improving the set up for the Final. 25 and 191 both with chains and tensioners on the right rear corners to pull the bumper ends back in line.

Heat Two Happenings 16, 166 and 220 collide in turn one. Will spins out and pulls off soon after. 463 and 20 lock up and clatter down the backstraight fence. 16 engages 381 in a momentary battle until 55 puts a big'un on Mat going into turn 1. 532 leads off a group of 'B' graders after a caution period. 166 pulls off. 55 whacks 1 in turn one and goes through with Tom clattering the fence down the backstraight. 446 and 321 end up tangled together on top of the tyres on the exit of turn 2. 1 catches 55 and sideswipes him going through turn 2. 532 still leads but Tom closes in and passes him with a lap to go. 55 and 16 catch Daz on the last corner and relegate him to 4th.
