  1. Thanks a lot, Nic & Jane. Great stuff

If this meeting is anything to go by, the World Final just got even more interesting. 197 & 390 very strong showings along with Nigel Green.

Dan Johnson is no pushover. Add him to the mix, and the rest, it looks like it could be a cracker of a World Final,

Well done Ryan. From last place in the league, to first, in just one Shoot Out !

  2. I'll be there at 2 and won't stop until after Gn keeping one if those cars on track for your enjoyment.

Well i thank you for that Bryan

Before Monday , I'll take this opportunity to thank others to. Like the fantastic Bar staff at Belle Vue, and the Security guys that keep an eye on things.

And even them that take the money on the turnstiles, even if some folk come away thinking they've been robbed.

Oh yes, nearly forgot ; The drivers. Cheers guys. Here's hoping it lives up to my expectations :bigthumb:

    Can't wait.

  3. Craig Tomblin is F2 driver 291.

    Cheers for confirming that

    Other numbers a bit alien to me are 385, 455 , 480

Pleased to see 545 Neil Hooper on that list as he was superb at Northampton

My weather forecast site is showing Saturday as dry right up to 9pm. Touching on 20 degrees at race start time, and 18 degrees at 9pm , so most agreeable !

Bring it on Mr Robert Speak ......................... both on and off the track

  4. Really looking forward to this

One or two names i don't recognise there. 299 Craig Tomblin to name but one. Think he may be from the F2 fraternity .

Pity Alex and Samuel Wass aren't on the list. They really impressed at Northampton.

But, many eyes i'm sure will be locked on Speaky at the start of the semi, whilst seeing if Nigel can get around the first bend in one piece.

Something that he didn't do at Coventry World Final .................... thanks to Rob !

  5. Thanks for the results Nic & Jane. I can fill in my programme now

I to thought Dan spun himself from where i was, but did wonder. 338 was on top form and determined to get some of the 4 / 84 limelight !!

Sorry if i overstepped the mark on the other thread. I got involved in 'chat' and got carried away.

It started with me wanting to test my free data usage on my mobile contract. One day i used all my free data in a few minutes, so wanted to test how much data stoxnet would use. Technology always surprises me.

As it happened , it went on and on (like i did !!) I was very careful not to give any results away

  6. Personally, I'd like to see Rob take his grid position. He's earned it

The 445 shale car is marginally off the pace of quite a few of the others, but Nigel's driving skills are mounting by the day.

However, for me the 445 tarmac car is the quickest of them all, so i'd have thought he will choose Skeggy. Couldn't see Rob catching Nigel (on tar) even if he does race

And c'mon, whose writing the scripts ?

4, 84 and 515 all in the same semi along with 150 . What car would 464 drive if he's at Stoke ?

There are more questions than answers .......................................

  7. Love it when people say it's hotter in uk than in Spain - then it lasts for around one day !!

Stuart Smith is having the last laugh now, Benidorm is between 12 and 16 degrees hotter than it will be at Belle Vue over the next couple of days

Back to business. Great news that Tom is able to race.

I do hope the other 41 drivers are capable of putting on a show and that we don't have to put all the pressure on Tom to deliver

It's gonna be my first visit to the new Belle Vue since 1998, so i'm hoping this meeting will be top notch.

And please, those in charge of watering, don't make the outside of the track into a soggy mess like was done at Sheffield .

Cars slithering about in mud is not my idea of shale stock car racing

i thank you ......................... rodders out

  8. Thanks Hary and a special well done to No 8 Nico Bonefaas on his first outing

I have lots of memories of Martin Verhoef , especially at Baarlo back in the day.

Hopefully Nico will carry on and take the number 8 to great things

  9. Is there a curfew at foxhole, and does anyone know elsewhere to park as it's a nightmare to get off the stadium car park?

    Yes there is a curfew - think it's 10pm

2 years ago when i last went, the F1 Grand National was cancelled due to running out of time, but it was unavoidable

Generally i found the change overs fairly quick..

And with the demise of Coventry, Ipswich is probably the only true 'stadium' we have left. Great facility, and great list of drivers getting their one and only chance to practice prior to the World Final

  10. Rod, you may be right that Frank didn't give it 100% in his heats but it proved to be the right way, didn't it? Maybe he was saving the last few horses for the championship race.

Yes Tony, that's exactly the way i read Frankie's tactics.

I posted 'live' on this thread after his 2nd race, questioning if it was tactical, when he let them all go.

It was his 1st head to head with Tom of the day, and i think he wanted to stay out of trouble, realising his car was really tuned in after a phenomenal heat 1.

Then , the final dealt him the right cards with Tom getting slowed by 4 and 21.

Top marks to Frankie for winning the British using all his years of experience.

And graham, you're right that they did only water the inside. Trouble is, that was very quickly flicked and added to the sludge on the outside, making that even worse, giving us a very narrow racing line within a very short time.

No additional water was necessary - imo !

No-one has mentioned how rapidly Smithy was closing in on Frankie at the end, so i will .

Oh for another couple of laps :whistling:

  11.

leigh t .....is this not exactly what 84 did to 217 at northampton ........didnt see much sympathy for lee .....let the boys have fun lol

I've only been back into the sport for the last couple of years following a 25 year hiatus...perhaps the instance you mentioned was a little before my return? Having only really seen it as a tactic for the first time at the shootout last year, I think I'm disapproving of it generally...the caveat being that it will likely form the basis of another on-track rivalry which can only be good for the sport!

I will also add, however, that Frank Jnr Jnr pulling back out of the fence right into the path of the oncoming Tom having been despatched by Harris when a lap down was also very very cynical and a little uncalled for - arguably on both sides!!

Pretty sure it was 2015 that Tom played silly games with 217.

In that year, i remember Hitman doing several (what i call) childish pranks.

I commented in that year that Harris was in the same team as Speaky. 318 fans came out of the woodwork to disclaim this.

But it was clearly true they were in the same team along with 464.

So, what comes around comes around. For whatever childish reason of my own (i've never forgot the 217 silliness) I was delighted when Dan played his part in the outcome of Sunday's final, along with No 21

The 'hit' from Frankie made the entrance fee totally worth it .

Tom could hardly risk going around the outside of Dan, as over watering had made the outside a dangerous option

Well done all drivers that gave that something extra - including Tom in all 4 of his races.
