  1. I think it's a perfectly good question, I suspect borne out of simple excitement - which should never be derided or belittled! I too like to know ASAP which drivers are booked in so I can take a look at past results/recent form to get a sense of who to keep an eye on at the meeting. I also think it fair to say that driver numbers may well be a factor in whether people decide to attend or not - which again is fair enough I think?

Some great discussion on this subject of car numbers.

I agree that the question shouldn't be "derided or belittled" , i just wish folk would elaborate on the question, as it's interesting to know how it affects that person's view .

For me, it's more about which drivers are booked in.

Back in the day, when clashing meetings was the norm, we didn't have this interweb thingy. We relied on carrier pigeons for info and went to meetings in a stage coach (driven by Calamity Jane). I think Dick Turpin held up our coach once .

I would want to know which meeting Smithy was going to attend, as there was always a chance of some controversial incidents.

Having returned to meetings in 2015 after a 10 year sabbatical, i discovered that Tom Harris is the new Smithy.

Meetings with Tom in attendance always seem to have that extra something.

I'm on board with Ozzy in that you choose your meetings based on personal preference.

There's one track i wouldn't go to if it was free entry with £20 cashback - but that's just me.

Thanks for putting a smile on my face Carole Smith. I really want to be at that 275 'all in' meeting !!

  2. Dare i ask an innocent question ?

When someone asks an innocent question on how many drivers are booked in, is it because they need a certain amount of F1's to make the trip ?

I understand Bryan's frustration of seeing this question over and over again, with seemingly no reason for the question

and i understand Ozzy's comment on just ignore it.

But if the answer to the question is 40 , 45, 50 or whatever - i just don't get what this information means to anyone , and yet the question is asked like a recurring record without posters saying why they're asking the question

And after all, it's a forum for discussion so why not say why one is asking the question in the 1st place - so we can discuss the answer (when we know it) ?
