  1. Thought it was known why Harringay suddenly removed F1's from fixtures in 1955 rather than lost in history
  2. You cannot really compare football and F1 spectators. Majority of football away fans would travel by public transport, special charter trains or team club coaches whereas majority of stock cars travel by cars so they need to know there is somewhere suitable to park. Local people to stadiums know where they can or cannot park but F1's being a national sport the majority have to travel long distances. Would a new spectator to the sport or someone who has never been to Sheffield go after reading that the car park gets full up quick. Maybe your disabled and cannot walk 15-20 minutes away, or you dont fancy walking alone in an area that you dont know especially if there was a evening meeting. It is nothing about knowing the highway code law it. Surely easy for a promoter to increase people through turnstyles to mention whether there is suitable parking available fairly close to the stadium or not so you have the choice on attending. It was always mentioned at Belle Vue where to park.
  3. Out of interest is the ruling still the same that any reserves must attend both semis to be eligible to race for a withdrawn driver
  4. Yes, 20% VAT on a cash sale payment with no ticket, invoice or receipt goes to government
  5. As mentioned a common sense approach should be applied but what one security guard thinks is sensible another security guard could deem excessive. The main point with anyone who has a specialised diet requirement or medical problems for which people are not addressing is the huge embarrassment of having to explain personal medical problems to someone who has little knowledge about anything medical and therefore fails to understand your personal needs. I also would not feel comfortable explaining this with a queue behind me getting longer and longer and others listening in to what you are trying to explain - would you ? In regards suggesting showing a GP letter anyone with a bit of computer savvy could produce and print one off as there is no way for the promotion to check whether it is authentic or not. Finally not everyone is able bodied and therefore able to sprint back to their car hundreds of yards away for refreshments between races
  6. Looking forward to meeting but disagree with Spedeworth/Incarace post above where it states "priority will be given to those drivers that have supported Incarace during 2018" If your a shale racer you would not of supported a tarmac promoter (yes, with the exception of 1 meeting Mildenhall)
  7. Yes limited parking inside stadium at extra cost
  8. Carl, I see Spedeworth use the phrase "should be released" - not definate it will be then !! I find it amazing that with just over 3 weeks to go for the most important meeting of they year Spedeworth still have not worked out when the meeting starts or what the race order is yet. Spectators and teams need to make travel and work arrangements
  9. No Dave, after World Masters comments probably worried about £25 admission price !!!
  10. Does the 10 day stand down only apply to racing F1's ?
  11. When we camped at Lochgelly track (not a F1 meeting though) there was no charge and no need to book
  12. Vic C, you obviously was not there on Friday night. I have been watching stock cars 20 years + and my lad has driven F1's amongst other things in the past. I personally would say it was one of the dustiest meetings I have ever seen. To stand on the back straight and not be able to see clearly any cars along the whole length of the straight or on either bends was dusty in my book. If still racing I would of told my lad not to race in those conditions as it was too dangerous, what the F1 drivers could see in front of them would of been not a lot.
