  1. I would also like to extend my thanks to GMP and Startrax for allowing me the honour to be a part of the F1 Scottish weekend. I have had the privilige of commentating on a Saloon World Final and being involved in almost every F1 Scottish weekend in some capacity, but this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to be part of the "show" by providing the musical soundtrack as well as a commentary voice. Some of the music played throughout the night may not have been to everyone's taste, however it served a purpose along with the instrumentals that played in the background during the parade lap, race stoppages and podium presentations, to try and keep the atmosphere and adrenaline flowing. I'm so chuffed that one fan approached me at the end of the meeting to say how much he really enjoyed the different commentary and buildup...I have seen his face around the raceways for many years but have never actually spoken with him, but it meant a lot to hear just one thank you from a loyal F1 fan. The PA tower can be a nightmare for the poor sod who has to do the roving mic on track, as the sound delay causes you to slow your speech and makes you sound hawf-pished (as I found out back in May) so big thanks to Gary Osborne for his help and expertise. I know there were one or two issues with "deaf spots" at certain places round the terracing due to the sound delay, so any feedback to GMP is appreciated. Apologies to Stoxkarts, HRP, The Madman and Gary for having to cancel my standby spectator appearance at Lochgelly at the last minute on Sunday, however I look forward to being on any side of the fence for the next visit. Long live F1!
  2. Well there's gid news and bad news...the bad news is that due to regular commentator Alan Mclachlan's holiday, I'll be the host commentator at Cowdie on Saturday for the F1 Scottish...the gid news is that I'll be doing the race commentary instead of the roving mic stuff so no-one will hear me anyway over the engine noise...the bad news is I'm also in charge of the music...the gid news is there will be no Taylor Swift or One Direction...the bad news is that the centre green may turn into a rave or moshpit. The good news is that I paid attention to a few old threads on this forum about preferred songs and rolling lap themes...when I was Crimond's commentator, I had a 30min pre-meeting intro that played music from NASCAR, V8 Supercars, F1 and Touring Cars, and like a lot of you, certain music from old World Finals or telecasts of major sporting events can give that extra tingle down the spine. Hopefully, the buildup to the F1 Scottish pays a wee tribute to all of the commentators and races that have been an influence throughout the years...the bad news is, it prob won't go to plan, and I'll be asked to leave yet another commentary box...the good news is, you'll be in the capable hands of the Madman McDiarmid at Lochgelly on Sunday. Hope you all have a safe journey to Scotland. It's heavy metal time!

  6. All the magazines plus the Autospeed, Bristol, Taunton 5 Star, Bolton and Warton programme batches have now been sold.
  7. Efternoon all, I have available for sale over 1000 stock car programmes (covering approx 700 different race meetings) and 50 stock car magazines as detailed below: PROGRAMMES ========== Old Belle Vue = approx 170 (1970 - 1987) Long Eaton = approx 140 (1972 - 1994) Bradford = approx 130 (1976 - 1996) Northampton (pre Incarace) = 105 (1970 - 2000) Incarace (Hedno + Brum) = 65 (1989 - 2004) Coventry = 54 (1970 - 1996) Autospeed (Newton Abbot, Taunton, St Day, St Columb, Ringwood) = 36 (1989 - 2000) Trackstar (Skegness, Boston, Kings Lynn, Swaffham) = 35 (1986 - 2004) Bristol = 32 (1988 - 2000) Crewe = 25 (1990 - 1993) Buxton = 20 (1990 - 2004) Scunthorpe = 20 (1988 - 1992) Leicester = 15 (1976 - 1984) Taunton (5 Star) = 12 (1988 - 1994) RDC (Mildo, Swindon, Dover) = 10 (1995 - 2000) Arena Essex = 10 (1997 - 2003) Bolton = 5 (1992 - 1996) Hartlepool = 5 (1992 - 1996) Startrax (New BV, Swindon, Stoke) = 5 (2000 - 2004) Aycliffe = 4 (1988 - 1989) Spedeworth = 4 (1989 - 2000) Stoke = 4 (1993 - 1999) Swindon (Gerry Dommett) = 4 (1989) Barford = 3 (1996 - 1999) Warton = 3 (1994 - 1998) Sheffield = 2 (1982 & 1988) Rochdale = 1 (1981) Cowdenbeath = 2 (2003) Crimond = 17 (1989 - 2006) Crimond duplicates = 86 (2004 - 2006) MAGAZINES ======== Stock Car Supporter = 25 (1977 - 1985) Stock Car Magazine = 7 (1991 - 2008) Oval Racing News = 7 (2002 - 2003) Stock Car Supporter Pictorial = 4 (1980 - 1987) Stock Car Reporter = 4 (1981 - 1983) Short Circuit Illustrated = 2 (2003 - 2004) Stock Car Journal = 1 (1980) This collection is not available in an auction, instead I am looking for interested parties to give me a PM or e-mail via the forum with an offer for what they would like to purchase. Preference will be shown to anyone who makes an offer for the ENTIRE collection and can take it off my hands at the earliest opportunity...if no sensible offer is received, I will then look to those who were interested in purchasing ALL programmes or ALL magazines. If a sensible offer is still not forthcoming, only then will I look to split the collection into batches - the only exceptions are the Crimond duplicates which may be available separately. I have no time to post separate items hence why I am looking to reach an agreement with any interested fans looking to start or expand their own collection, and can make arrangements to collect at a race meeting or an agreed location. PLEASE NOTE!!! The only World Final programmes contained within the collection are a Taunton 5 Star Banger WF and an Arena Essex PRI Banger WF - the majority of progs are from domestic meetings with the occasional F1/F2 Ben Fund, Grand National Championship or World Semi-Final meeting. There are a number of meetings that have duplicate progs - one is blank and another contains results, hence why out of the 1000 progs there are approx 700 meetings covered. Do not ask about individual meetings unless I make it known that I am interested in splitting the collection into batches, and be aware before you look to say that you can collect next weekend that the collection currently resides in Aberdeen!!! There is no asking price for the collection and the highest bidder is not guaranteed to win - just make a sensible offer and hell, I'll even throw in a FREE BOX!!!!!!!
  8. Been a long time since I've been selling on ebay! Clearing out a few things at the mo to raise money for a new project, so by all means pop along and check out my ebay listings to see if there is anything you fancy. Amongst the new millenium selection are a few F1 Scottish weekend programmes for those of you who may have missed them.
