  10. BriSCA Management Board – Statement Discussions have been ongoing for many weeks to complete the 2022 BriSCA F1 calendar and a centre focus of the sports is which venue is to host the all important World Final. Buxton Raceway have the entitlement to host the event for 2022 and both BSCDA and BriSCA have held a series of meetings with the promoter to finalise plans for the World Final and the venue. These have been supportive and constructive from all sides to reach an equitable solution and what benefits the sport. We apologise that, by necessity, these discussions have been elongated to engineer the most attractive solution possible and achieve everyone’s ambitions. Matt Watson plans and is committed to considerable investment into the raceway in terms of upgrades however, in the final analysis and in no small part, Covid uncertainties have precluded a much earlier start to planned works than may have been envisaged and rather than compromise this major event, it has been agreed that Mr Watson will for season 2022 operate his World Final elsewhere to allow him the security of further investment to host the World Final in the Peak District in the future. BriSCA, the promoter and BSCDA have been in full consultation throughout and a creative solution has been resolved whereby the 2022 World Final will take place at IPSWICH on Saturday 10th September and creating further interest and a twist, the Friday night event will be hosted at Mildenhall Stadium. The two venues fit well and geographically for fans and accommodation. Our relationship with Mainland Europe and the Netherlands is also a major consideration as with Covid, the last two years have been conflicted and it is important that both sides of the water move forwards together and rebuild post Covid and with Northampton Sunday, the spice of Mildenhall we feel will add interest and be attractive to drivers from both tarmac and shale. Further information will be released by Buxton Raceway later in the month and the full BriSCA calendar issued asap. 17. It’s the Big BriSCA finale this Saturday and your last chance to see BriSCA F1, F2 and National Ministox at the same meeting before Winter (5pm start). The racing might be bracing, but some of BriSCA’s best are preparing for battle and they are coming from all over to put on a show! From all across England plus drivers scheduled from Scotland, Northern Ireland and Mainland Europe too. The Gala night traditionally throws up a number of surprises with a number of drivers taking the opportunity to step into a different formula for the night and 2021 will be no different, some unusual names are taking the wheel this Saturday night. 57 drivers are scheduled for battle in the big and brutal BriSCA F1 Stock Cars, with the Under 25 Championship up for grabs, a highly sought after title showcasing the young talent of the Sport, an impressive prize fund up for grabs too. From young guns to Veterans; this Saturday has it all and all eyes will be on Stock Car legend Rob Speak (318), who returns to BriSCA F1’s for the first time in a number of years, he’s been lighting up the tarmac at Skegness in his F2 and Saloon Stock Cars, how will he get on back in an F1 Saturday? Also in the line up is Saloon Stock Car Superstar Diggy Smith (516), having pedalled an F1 a few years ago at the Gala Night, Diggy is back again and won’t be looking to make up the numbers, similarly circuit racer Ben Barnicoat (536), who steps in to a Stock Car this Saturday! Not forgetting no less than 6 ladies will also be on track in the F1 Stock Cars, including the return of Jacklyn Ellis (219) and debut of V8 Hotstox lady racer Hannah Andrews (350). They will be joined by a long list of drivers looking to make their mark on the action this Saturday; including fans favourite Dutchman Jelle Tesselaar (H410) who has been taking it to the shale racers in 2021, how will he fair on the tarmac Saturday! Mid-40’s F2 Stock Cars will be battling for the Gala night Championship, a title that has grown in stature within the formula and a highly competitive line up for the Formula. World Champion Chris Burgoyne (647) will venture back to Skegness where he took the title in September and will be looking to showcase the Gold. He will be joined by Steven Gilbert (542) who heads North from the West Country, and Graham Fagan (998) who ventures over from Northern Ireland. Gordon Moodie (7) needs no introduction and will be joining the line up, venturing down once more, he’s one of the quickest around the Skegness oval and will be wanting to assert that at the Gala night! Similarly, with the F1’s, a couple of different names to keep an eye on; Charlie Sworder (152) doubles up on the F1 duties and takes to the track in the F2 Stock Cars, whilst all conquering Ministox racer Jack Witts (880) makes his F2 Stock Car debut after his history making Season in the Minis where he took 8 of the major titles; out of 8! It will certainly be interesting to see how he does on his adult debut. The stars of the future round up the line up for the night, the National Ministox racing for 11 – 15 year olds, the kids don’t hold back and put on the toughest Stock Car races you will see, over 40 Ministox currently booked for their penultimate racing of the year. Now Mr Witts has graduated, who will be stepping up to stake claim to his crown! Leah Sealy (475) has been showing some good pace and aggression and could be the one to take top spot, but Luke Strett Barsby (27) is well on the pace and had some good results at Skegness last time, similarly Kasey Jones (76) who will be another one to watch. Keep an eye on Brooke Kiston (732) she picked up a race win at the last Skegness and will be eager for another, not discounting another Witts to look forward to growing within the Ministox ranks with Lucy (180) taking up the mantle now. Simply pay on the day at the turnstiles – cash only. Skegness Raceway boasts many great facilities including large undercover Grandstand, plenty of food outlets and bars, including the impressive raceview Bar – watch the racing from the heated indoors! Skegness Raceway – the action is the attraction for the last time this year– a big night and a real feast of Stock Car action to enjoy; do you dare miss this. Let’s get ready to rumble! http://skegness-raceway.info/Home
