I think I raced in a 100 car meeting at Brafield (Northampton), Bradford also used to get 90 - 100 car meetings. But for the modern era it is a fantastic turnout

Dougie, I wasn't suggesting you had asked the fans, just replying to seasidestox fan message. While I appreciaite prolonged TV coverage would ultimatley benefit the fans and drivers, Brisca would also benefit from raised profile, marketing,sponsorship opportunities and gate receipts

For a TV programme £10k isn't a lot of money. And the power of Tv is huge. Just look at how the NFL of the WWE(F) have used television to export their product around the world. I'm not saying Stock car racing will reach the kind of viewing figures or attract such a high profile that both the NFL and WWE do but it is an indication of what can be acheived with the right marketing strategy. The fans do a heck of a lot for this sport, take a look at things like the Fans Tyre Fund, The Internet & Fans Challenge trophy, the Under 25s champs, Stoxnet etc. All of which bring in sponsorship as well as enticing extra fans through the gates. therefore, I don't think it is right to ask the fans to find sponsorship for the TV coverage when it should be the job of the governing body.

Looks like a good turn out, inevitable there will be the odd driver who has to drop put, and by the same token may be an additional driver who may just turn up

Got to say I like the idea of running the F1 heats and F2 heats in a block rather than alternating between f1 and F2. I think they did this at Brum last meeting. Just a personal preference.
