  1. Great to see Trackstar using this forum as a positive advert for their meetings and also thanking all involved for attending or helping to run the meeting.

As I said on my racing rating, we arrived late due to traffic and the two people on the car park gate were extremely helpful getting a car park spot in the disabled section for my partner who would have struggled to walk from the field. That kind of thing goes a long way to making me want to go back, which we will do for the Saloons World Final.

Some promoters could learn a thing or two from this.

    Well done guys!

  2. I think lessons have been learned. The wording of the original notice was poor and by being prescriptive was only going to cause criticism of the policy. Asking people with medical conditions to get doctors notes was plain provocative.

Had it said ‘no alcohol and reasonable food for personal use but please support the catering outlets where you can to help the ongoing investment’ no one would have complained.

I wish the Speaks every success at Skeg. We as supporters should encourage investment by supporting the track and catering where we can. The offer in terms of catering should also be improved to allow us to support them. With the culture for good quality street food there must be opportunity to offer something other than greasy burgers (bought one last time and never again).

Many people with families cannot afford to buy multiple burgers and need to take food in or stay home. Hopefully common sense will prevail for all.

  3. It’s a careful balance between maximising revenue to pay for the investment Rob has already made and not offending the paying customer. No one should be allowed to bring their own alcohol into the track but reasonable food should be allowed especially for those with medical requirements. The food at a Skeg is about the only thing that is worse now than It was a couple of years ago.

If a polite request was made to only bring in a reasonable amount of food and support the track catering where possible I think most fans would do that. I think asking for GP letters is overstepping the mark and is going to backfire with a few people not going on principle.

A request for a portable chair for someone with a blue badge who has spinal issues and can’t sit in a straight back seat for the WF was met with a response of ‘hire a wheelchair’, which really doesn’t encourage me to buy my WF tickets.

Rob has made a huge investment but I hope he doesn’t put people off going by applying unreasonable rules.

  4. Agree Nigel, front row should be told they don’t go until the flag drops and if they do there will be a re start and the front row goes to the back of the grid.

I can fully understand how it happens. Drivers keen to get away and starter not really wanting to hold the yellows once they have gathered speed. It’s just such a shame when drivers who should be basking in the glory of a victory lap after a fair race are docked places due to the inconsistent application of the rules.

  5.

Catherine was practicing in the F1 at Birmingham a few weeks ago

That's encouraging. Maybe she'll be out in an F1 this year, specially as Graham has pointed out, she's registered to drive..

If Harry Steward goes as well as he did last year, he could well retain the trophy from a yellow start.

Might be worth a 50p each way bet !

Living life on the edge Rod with your 50p bets.

Agree we have some very quick low grade tar drivers and one of them may just win on Sunday.
