True legend of the sport. Superb interview. I was lucky enough to see a Kev at his best....what memories.

Well done to each and every one of you. It’s been great. Hope it’s not long until we have some more e racing.

Fantastic to see Kev on here. He always had a tremendous enthusiasm for racing, even when he was fence fodder Kev and the team always seemed to be laughing and joking. The 1991 semi made him a big name in the sport. He was known for aggressive driving well before then, and I can remember the anticipation before the race. Would he bury the front rows or wouldn’t he?. Being Kev he did it in big style, and then did it again on the next bend. I shouted myself hoarse cheering him on but slowly he lost ground due to the slipping clutch, but even then he had a nibble at a few drivers as they went past to get a top 10 finish. Brilliant race, the best semi I have seen. Kev was without doubt one of the best entertainers ever. A joy to watch. I am pleased he never had top line cars because he made up for it in his style of driving. I have forgotten most of the drivers with fancy cars but will never forget watching Kev race. Pleased to see he is full of life and stories and can’t wait for the next part.

Hi Rod, i agree this car wasn’t his best performing and had a very different look from the other Red Arrows, but there was just something about it that caught my eye. It looked more of a beast than the others and handled just like it looked. The Elwell car seemed like a handful on tar as well, not like the one which came next. As Sarge would say the MK2 was car AUTOMATICALLY DELETED WORD.

Superb. There were a few strange faces for that meeting but no Dutch. I think they called it European because there was a Scottish driver.... Ian Smith was a hard driver and this was his only title win. He managed to hold it all together and won convincingly. Doug Cronshaw in what must have been one of his last meetings trying a car out that he built for John Toulson that was driven by David Toulson I seem to recall. Some of my favourite cars, The Red Arrow of Nigel Whorton, Elwell NZ special and the Closey car. Brilliant action track greatly missed. Thanks Binnsy

Well done JJ. Good interview. I’m sure your name will be on a few trophies in the future. Lets have Frank Snr on here. Bet he has a load of stories and thoughts for the future.

Pure entertainment. Ian is a great character but listening to that makes you realise how much he did for the sport in difficult times. As a passenger and driver of the two seaters, I thank him for making it happen. Like he said himself, he was never a top driver but he certainly had many moments and for pure entertainment he was one of the top drivers. Great interview and thanks to all who were involved.

Did you know Nige once won a final at........

Fantastic to see Odsal back even if it was only virtual. It really brought back memories. ECL and Window boy did a great job as usual keeping us all entertained on what has become the highlight of the week. After a bad week ECL managed to be as funny as ever. A true legend and ray of sunshine on a Saturday night. Sounds like Coventry is back shortly....can’t wait.

Strange how rocket Rod seemed to speed and head for the stranded cars once Lundy was behind him...payback for an earlier move perhaps. The place was an absolute tip. Track rough as hell but cars flew round there in a constant battle with the potholes and the other cars. What would we all say if it was still like that nowadays?. I recall one meet with about 8 tollovers. Loved the place and have many happy memories stood on the home straight mound. Thanks for the video.

I always thought of Peter as a man of few words. How wrong was I?. Great interview with lots of stories about his racing past and a few ideas for the future. This series has been excellent. Keep them coming Jon you are doing a great job!. in terms of ideas, pay per view has got to be seriously considered as a trial. Stadium sport is going to come with social distancing for a while and meetings simply won’t be profitable for promoters with a few hundred people. Stage a trial with all ticket entry to limit the crowd, plus as many as possible pay per view and meetings might just be possible until we are back to normal. One for Jonathan to work on with BriSCA and the BSCDA......

Looking forward to this one.Can we have the beams across the track and Bammy/Alan Barker on the centre green poking drivers with the end of his flag if they drove over the pitch.

I think it’s 10 rounds but happy to be corrected. If we aren’t going back racing soon it would be great to continue it maybe after a short break. Beats anything on TV by miles.

Well, I am pleased ECL left the sight of him dancing in crop top and pants right until the end. Another great nights entertainment chaps. Banter between Forehead boy and Mr Corp Top great as always, and some fantastic racing on a track I don’t even like. This lockdown E racing does strange things...... looking forward to B V next week. Will they bounce off the fence or stay stuck?.

Another great interview. Thanks Jon and Ryan. I’m not a fan of Ryan and am amongst the section of crowd that like to boo at him when he wins. He laps it up to his credit. His cars look awesome and are superbly engineered, but they don’t seem to set the world on fire in terms of results. Having said that the sport needs characters like Ryan. Marmite drivers who split the crowds and cause controversy and incident. Without the likes of Ryan the sport would be poorer. His mind had been elsewhere of late and it’s good to see he will be ramping up his efforts in F1. When he turns his mind to it he can set a race alight. His win in the shootout was sheer determination and fully deserved.

Thanks Ben and Jon. Really enjoying this lockdown series and that was another great interview. Glad to see Ben is fired up for a full time return to racing.

Hate to say it but I think I prefer tar racing. Great entertainment all round. A big thanks to all involved. dotd - 526 Little ECL king of the last bend hit.

Will be tuning in on Saturday enjoying some good banter and virtual racing. I think the virtual season may need to be extended as I can’t see any large gatherings i.e. most sporting events, being allowed for the beast part of this year. Until there is a vaccine I think a lot of supporters would hesitate to attend meetings regardless of government guidance.

Great interview and a lot of sense spoken with regards to cost. Drivers are mainly self employed and business owners. In this situation there is not much help from the government. A lot of them will be taking a big hit as the government bail out measures, however well intended, don’t cover this sector very well. I think a lot of drivers will see stock cars as secondary to getting their business back running so the cheaper things can be made the better and quick. look forward to the next interview.
