Last update - Tony reports that track is 'good' - tyre packed in firm, some rain forecast during Saturday afternoon which will do it no harm, dry from this evening right through with perhaps a touch of frost and will be reworked from 8 Sunday AM. Pits obviously wet although not as bad as one may expect until it gets churned up [ but can't have everything! ] so bring wellies, Hopefully, tomorrow will be last race meeting of the current fence on the corners - extra ropes have been added and it has to be finished after Greyhounds this evening, make no guarantees in this area, depends how hard it gets hit - but everyone has tried their best during a very difficult week [ for a number of reasons, personal included! ] May the best man win! may we all get the meeting the sport deserves, many fingers crossed.

Latest update : After a day of persistent rain yesterday [ wednesday ] no standing water on track, surface wet but hard under neath. Team in now all week adding extra ropes to fence, changing post holes etc and will be working into the small hours AFTER Greyhound Racing Saturday night finishing the fence off [ and tensioning ] as parts of the fence have to be taken down for Greyhounds/traps - Normally this work is done Sunday morning - so leaves 5 hours Sunday AM JUST to concentrate on finishing track surface. Saturday night's late work includes installing catch fencing which has to come up and down each meeting etc,etc. Our Belle Vue trackman is in from 8.am tomorrow morning for the day and aims to 'cut' the track and improve it coming out of turn 2 into the back straight and finish off prep work. At the moment all forecasts suggest the weather may at last be with us with some rain forecast Saturday which on a firm track will cause absolutely no problems. At the moment Sunday is completely dry until 9.pm. If everyone pulls together, together we will make this happen and hopefully with many fingers crossed, the drivers will be able to 'return to business as normal' and do what they do best and return the F Factor - that's all they want to do, that's all we want...........Many fingers makes things happen and thank you for your support. You never know, indications are that we made need to fill the......................... No, won't even go there! Enough cars F1/F2 for 2/3rds - May the F Force be with us all!

Does it matter ????? It's Stock Car Racing - I remember watching Rob Bradsell win in a thunderstorm at Nelson!!!! Life goes on, if it's too wet crowd will be affected BUT 2013 Champion will be crowned - lighten up - let me worry about the crowd as i have to pay the bills! Thank you to everyone, none more so than Guy Parker and BSCDA in assisting in getting an early booking list and their support with this event together with race fans and TalkingStox for their efforts! The early booking list is encouraging with a few more expected - certainly looking enough for a 2/3 session - Everyone acknowledges it has been a difficult season end with weather however BSCDA/DRIVERS and ourselves will be stretching to hopefully try and put a smile back on a few faces and remind folks that F1 still has the mojo and hopefully you will join us in creating an excellent atmosphere to conclude the 'official' season! May the best man win! Cannibalising each other does not enhance what remains a great sport! We have moved our track man from Belle Vue to assist at Sheffield and will be in today and from Thursday - Martin has booked the rest of the week off to dedicate the teams time at Sheffield for the rest of the week as this show must most definately go on - AND we have 2 pumps and tanker on standby although the drains have been refreshed and as we speak there is no standing water on Owlerton - forecast is from tomorrow dry to Friday enabling work to go on - wet forecast Saturday but at the moment dry Sunday. As the fence is already up - it allows more time for other things - be assured every effort is being invested.
