  1. Spedeworth have a brief explanation of them both on their website. Orci based on an actual mini. Ministox custom chassis. orci minis http://www.spedeworth.co.uk/formula.php?name=MS National minis http://www.spedeworth.co.uk/formula.php?name=NMS Don’t believe there is anything stopping someone doing both, apart from time and cost. The orci minis are a relatively new addition to Skegness as they have purchased the promotion rights from the now demised Arena Essex Raceway. The orci minis race at all 3 tracks in Scotland, South West at Taunton and St Day and also at Mildenhall, Birmingham and Northampton for Spedeworth/incarace/Mildenhall. They are rebuilding as a formula as they have started to put the single digit entries of a few years ago behind them and are starting to provide good numbers and some excellent racing.
  2. Grading is a dark art with many variables and the many variations could fill a small book. Theres a lot of things that come into play. A lot of drivers cant be down graded meaning less spots available for those who scored points. You cant be downgraded if you havent raced or if youve not raced enough. Taking what youve said. Here is at a guess what happened. June - 180 went up to yellow as over the years newbies to the formula dont tend to jump from white straight to blue or red. They tend to have a trip through yellow first. Henry Hunter, Frankie JJ, Bradley Harrison, Liam Gilbank and a few others have come in done excellent things from white but gone yellow rather than blue or red. Technically 180 was a novice having never took part in a points paying meeting. 164 on the other hand isnt a newbie so slots in where he should in the blue grade. July - as I understand it the overall average becomes less important as the season goes on as does the overall position in the points. I believe the grading period average comes into play a little more, number of meetings in the period and how many cars the person had to beat to score points and maybe even which races points were scored.( 3 points in a consi vs 3 points in a final) Hence the comments about it being a dark art. So 180 scores 29 points from 2 meetings no race wins . So 14.5 average. About the same as yellow grader Mal Brown and Jack France. 164 on the other hand scored less 23 from 2. But only took part in 2 meets and I believe its 3 to be downgraded. August. 180 didnt race in the grading period so cant go anywhere. 164 back to scoring with 25 points in a very short 4 meeting period and amongst the last of the blues. All a guess at what Ive managed to gather as to how some of the grading is done.
