Late Models are on at Ocala, Late models always put on a good show and are well worth seeing. "Battle Between The Coasts" Brings the Best To Ocala by BJ Cavin- Ocala Speedway Media OCALA, FL- As the new year gets underway the staff at Ocala Speedway has been busy organizing events for the annual February Winternationals. This year's February schedule is expanded to include top quality racing action spread out over two weeks, plus a rare Sunday night visit to Florida's oldest speedway from some of the top drivers in dirt late model action from across the country in a UMP sanctioned, $8000 to win event. February 13th will be the date for this unique opportunity to see the best of the best on the southeast's toughest 3/8ths mile in a 50 lap shootout dubbed, "The Battle Between the Coasts." The race falls just after the late model Speedweeks events end at Florida's East Bay Raceway Park, and just before the scheduled late model events during DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park. The timing and location of the Ocala show is therefore attracting top racers from both the Lucas Oil Series and the World of Outlaws Late Models, and putting them together for one night only on the famed Ocala Speedway located just off of I-75. Adult admission for the event is only $25, making this a low priced, one shot opportunity for fans to see the best in UMP Dirt Late Model racing on the same track, together on the same night. Fans will also have access to "Merchandise Row" featuring souvenirs from many of those top names in late model racing. In addition to top late model action, fans will be treated to a $500 to win clash featuring Ocala Speedway's most competitive and exciting division, the Amsoil V8 Thunder Stocks. After a brutal racing season that saw the points championship come down to the last lap of the final race of 2010, the Amsoil Thunder Stocks will provide more of the same kind of hard nosed action that Ocala Speedway fans have come to expect. And since the race will be open to any racer who opts to participate, racers from other racing divisions are setting up Thunder Stock cars in preparation to hit the clay and go for the cash. Many top late model racers have already committed to appear at Ocala Speedway for the Sunday, February 13th "Battle Between the Coasts" including UMP Summer Nationals Champ, Jason Feger, and back-to-back World of Outlaws Champ, Josh Richards. Earl Pearson Jr and his Bobby Labonte Motorsports teammate Brad Neat, have also expressed their plans to race, as has 2009 World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year, Russ King. Others committed to appear include Darrell Lanigan, Frank Heckenast Jr, Justin Ratliff, Clint Smith, and Chub Frank, with others contacting race organizers on a daily basis to express their desire to join the field. Further press releases will detail more racers who commit to appear before the race date arrives. For more information on Ocala Speedway Winternationals events, or to find out more about "The Battle Between the Coasts" please visit the official home of Florida's oldest speedway, www.OcalaSpeedway.com.
