He also had a new front tyre kindly donated from someone who sponsored the ladies race winner
The tyre was sponsored by Dave Wood of the "Swinton Car Project" after discudions between our own Kay Blackburn and NFR. They have their fingers in a few oval pies and are backed by other organisations such as the Forestry Commision. It's by virtue of the projects help that Kirsten is racing a V8 at Skeg and (probably) NIR next week.

If, by any stretch of the imagination, anyone is in the Peterborough area toady and would be willing to collect a crankshaft from Lyndale can you please contact me either by PM or phone 07866 659840. Lee Fairhurst needs a crank collecting and prob taking to Lynn thios weekend. Due to holidays at Lyndale the item needs collecting TODAY , arrangements are in place for the item to be paid for up front so it would just be a quick collectioon and a delivery to the 218 team on Saturday.
If anyone can help I can put you in touch with Derek.
Thanks in advance.

I am posting this on behave of 218 Derek Fairhurst and his team.
Derek's gearbox exploded in a big way during practice at Venray on Saturday and is not repairable. So he is in need of a replacement gearbox to fit his tarmac car before he can race again. Thanks to James Neachell, he was loaned a gear box to use at Venray but he will be needing a replacement for his own when they return from their holidays in a few weeks time.
Unfortunately, I don't know the specs of the gearbox he needs but Derek is on the look out for a gearbox for sale or if anyone is willing to sponsor a gearbox.
Either PM Suzzanne or myself if you can help.
Thanks on behave of Team Fairhurst.
Thanks for that Chris, just to add it's the fine spline type Nash box he's after.

LOL, if only - if the car was ready to rock and roll then Dave would definitely be racing!!!
One has a bent back axle that needs repairing and the other has a wrecked front bumper, among other things, that need repairing! Keep telling Dave we need 36 hours days!! Both cars should be out at Skeggy though
Yep, just time Mike - you know how it is! Don't panic though, your prop will be there tomorrow!!
No worries Kay, just hope he makes the cut.

Unfortunately Dave Willis has cancelled - too much to do and not enough time!
That's bad news, must be a lot to do. I've seen Dave practically rebuild his car between heat and cons before now. Hope it's just time and not a big bucks repair.

That is indeed asolutely true and in every other instance we would never start a project without a proper plan in place which would obviously include funding for the entire thing.
However, in this instance for various reasons not least the the timescale involved, we had to take a decision to either go for it or to wait until next season and we decided it was worth the risk to start in 2007.
Sadly. it doesn't seem to have paid off.
Dougie, at the end of the day and even if you don't get this off the ground again you (and the others involved) have still managed to get 2 dedicated programmes on terestrial TV. I've been a fan since 1979 and this is the 1st time this has been achieved so well done and good luck with your attempts to get us on again.

I have for sale my mondeo tdci zetec s which is the 130 bhp model.
46.000 MILES
The car comes with all the usual extras like air con and all electrics.
The car has Mot and tax for a good few months yet and has service history from new to prove the low milage. Has almost new tyres all round. It comes with the standard 18" alloys and sporty bumpers as standard with it being the zetec s model.
I bought this car because im going to be doing a lot of motor way miles for a race team, but it just seems a same to get in it covered in mud (SHALE) and ruin the interior of it because its so spotless inside, so im after a cheap diesel like a 306 hdi with low miles and possibly another rs for my spare time???
Absolutely unbelievable fuel econamy!!
The cars body work is also in great conditon.
Over all its a great family car with the biggest boot you'll ever see!!
oh yeh and its an absolute flying machine!!!
£6000
TEL: 07871983571. OR PM.
I can vouch for the condition of this car, it's a minter!!! At £6K got to be a bargain, stylish mile muncher for someone.
