If i remember rightly the thing made a sound like a piston firing and leapt to about head high on the operator.Health and safety would have a field day with that now

Has anyone any Idea what make & what the proper name for the mechanical tool that was used at roadworks during the 60's/70's for compacting down the roadstone before the tarmac was put over the top? It looked a little like a dalek, it had a hand rail round it & a leiver that when pulled up to the handle made the thing leap in the air (a bit like Zebedee)? The modern version is called a 'Whacker' plate.

Where will I find those? computer novice when things go wrong.

Computer info/help wanted. For some unknown reason I lost sound from my PC a bit back so I did a system restore and it came back again, the about a week later the sound went again hence another system restore & it came back. The same thing happened this evening. Do I need a new sound card? If I do how is it I get the sound back after doing a system restore? Can someone shed some light on this problem please?

My job is very unsafe and look like that in the not too distant future I will be made redundant. I have never needed a CV before as they didn't exist when I started full time employment. I have no Idea how to write one, what to put in it, wheather it would be best in handwriting or typed and how it should be laid out etc.. I have looked on the net but all I can really find is companys that do them for you but they cost around £500. Can anyone help? Thanks

I recently aquired (was going to be thrown out) a 6kg 15bar fire extinguisher it was a powder one. I unscrewed the top (took some doing) and emptied the little bit of powder that was in it & filled it half full of water, screwed the top back on (I cant get it as fully on as it was hard to remove in the first place but it it seals) put about 30psi of air in via the car type valve it has & it sprayed most of the water back out. How much water is best to put in it to leave room for the air & how much air (poundage or bar) is safe to put in baring in mind I can't fully screw down the top? There are plenty of threads at the top of the canister/trigger to keep it from blowing the top off I recon?

I would like some Teng Tools stickers to put on my Escort van, one of the large silver background ones & one of the logo or any type. I know they sell some at Coventry but I will not pay for that type of sticker as I consider it to be free advertising anyway, I would not buy a Teng Tools cap for the same reason. Any team or anyone got any spare? Thanks
