Joe Nickolls (242) has been working hard in the garage for the last few weeks on his multi surface car in anticipation of the Semi Final at Sheffield. Joe has qualified on row 5 for the Semi Final having scored well across the qualifying rounds. This included a first ever Final win at the Buxton double points round. George Elwell (501) is certainly looking forward to his Semi Final at Sheffield. He has purchased a shale car and is ready to try and qualify for the World Final. George has had a few runs on the shale in the past but in the last few years has stuck to the tarmac and has managed to qualify on row 4 for the Sheffield Semi Final. Phoebe Wainman (211) makes it into the World Championship Semi Final for the 2nd time in her very short career in BriSCA F1. Phoebe, a former British Champion in V8 HotStox made the switch to F1's at the beginning of the 2018 season and made history at the end of that season having been crowned the One Car Series Champion, the only female in the sports history to win a championship. Phoebe has had a mixed season so far with most of her points gained on shale rather than tarmac and she has been rather unlucky in some races too, leading a race at Stoke earlier in the season only to be taken to the infield by a lap down back marker ending her race. Kelvin Hassell (13) knows he has his work cut out on Sunday in the first World Championship Semi Final. Kelvin is not a regular racer, is mainly a tarmac racer and he hires a car from the Mat Newson stable but he has made the semi final and is certainly looking forward to it. Charlie Sworder (5) is no stranger to shale racing although that was back in the National Ministox. Charlie has only raced on tarmac in his short F1 career so far and he has done enough to secure a spot in his first World Championship Semi Final but......he makes the shale Semi Final at Owlerton Stadium, Sheffield this Sunday with the infamous wire fence. #ThrowbackThursday Today we look back at last season's European Championship race which was held at the World Masters meeting and what a race it was. Two of the top drivers in BriSCA F1 did battle and put one hell of a show on for the crowd with Tom Harris (84) taking victory from Stuart Smith Jnr (390). Tom had his work cut out that day as Stuart was not giving up easily as he chased the last of the major championships having already won the World Championship the night before, the British Championship earlier in the season and was reigning National Points Champion. Tom has been racing in America over the last couple of weeks and has had significant success whilst there but he will be back to defend his title this weekend.
