Last bender by 515 on 138 resulted in the 217 car I front of the 138 car getting put in the fence and spinning out of contention. 515 also got the better of the 1 car during the race.

Cracking race to start the night!! 515 does a last bender on long time leader 375 to win heat 1, with the 16 car grabbing 2nd place. Earlier in the race 16 challenged 375 for the lead coming out of t4, but the 375 car kept on the race line and Mat was forced to hit the infield tyre, allowing the 515 to catch and overtake the 16 car. The 55 car got caught out by a retiring white top pulling into the infield on the back straight and taking the 55 car with them.
