F1 plus National Hot Rods & Superstox Start time 6.30pm IT’S NOT often the BriSCA F1 Stock Cars and National Hot Rods appear on the same bill, but this rare treat is in store at Northampton International Raceway on Saturday April 23rd. The BriSCA F1s are in rude health with huge car turnouts everywhere so far in 2016 and last weekend contested a World Qualifying double header, silver top 4 Dan Johnson dominating the Final at Birmingham before on Sunday there were scenes of delirium as the great entertainer 45 Nigel Harrhy held his nerve to win his first ever Final at Hednesford, only for his car to fail a weight check handing 12 Michael Scriven the spoils. Other salient moments included a first ever win for 555 Frankie Wainman Jnr Jnr in the Birmingham Grand National, a comeback win for 84 Tom Harris at Hednesford, a new lap record at the Staffordshire venue for 445 Nigel Green plus wins for white tops 24 Mark Adkins and 283 Alex Wass at Wheels as some of the superstars struggled. World Champion 318 Rob Speak in particular had a disappointing weekend and will be eager to bounce back. The rumbling thunder of the F1 pack will be countered perfectly by the high-revving wail of the National Hot Rods, contesting their latest World Series England round. The category recently staged its European Championship up at Lochgelly in Scotland and 162 Carl Waller-Barratt took the spoils for his first major title in the sport, and he won the last meeting staged at Northampton on Good Friday so will be among the favourites here. 491 Colin Smith is also a Northampton track specialist while 3 Steve Dudman has been pulling in good results since his return to racing after a break of some 20 years, but the man everyone will be watching will be 304 Danny Fiske after a string of wins in recent World Series rounds. Booking list to follow.

THE MOST powerful cars in oval racing visit the UK’s fastest short oval for the one and only time in 2016 as the BriSCA F1 Stock Cars come to Hednesford Hills Raceway on Sunday April 17th. There are few finer sounds or sights than a grid of the ground-shaking 600bhp Chevrolet V8-engined leviathans rumbling their way around the banking of the Cannock Chase oval, with the drivers in pursuit of World Championship qualifying points. All the star names will be present in pursuit of places for the semi-finals in the summer and a place on the coveted grid at Coventry Stadium in September. World Champion 318 Rob Speak and National Points title holder 4 Dan Johnson will head the entry but there will be hordes of challengers to the champions including local stars the Neachell family, the Wainmans including 515 Frankie Wainman Jnr who has been winning everything on shale so far this season and will seamlessly switch to tarmac as always, while 212 Danny Wainman captured the Under-25 Championship at Birmingham in a wet November last year. 21 Mark Gilbank took the first Coventry final of the year last time out and the Scriven family are very much Hednesford specialists, while 231 Daniel van Spijker recorded the first tarmac final win of the year at Skegness on Good Friday for just reward for his travelling efforts from the Netherlands every week. We have 66 cars booked in two requests which we will accept and six possible if the parts arrive on time.
