  1. The Startrax publicity machine has kicked into life... Just 3 weeks to go to the first of the big 3 World Series deciders and the business end of the World Championship deciders! It comes no tougher than Owlerton's first decider! 24 starters and just 10 will make it through to the big grid at Coventry Stadium the first Saturday in September! This hurdle has a penchant for sometimes being 'predictable' however, the first three rows of the grid offer 6 of BriSCA's finest talent and most explosive drivers, none I would politely suggest would be out for a Sunday drive and respectable position! Being on the front row of that World Final grid is the ultimate objective. Wainman took the safer option in terms of survival in electing Semi Final 2 propelling Matt Newson, Dan Johnson, Mick Sworder, Rob Speak, Craig Finnikin and Stuart Smith Junior to the fast, flat out and tight and technical Sheffield shale way the scene of so many dramatic big races over the decades! A full format BriSCA F1 event is complimented by the full on action of the resurgent V8 Stock Cars providing an awesome 10 race spectacle of Sunday afternoon Thunder. The stadium affords amongst the finest facilities in UK oval entertainment, race view bars, panoramic race view restaurant, covered atmospheric terracing where the rumble of V8 engines resonates. Excellent fast food outlets and a family friendly environment guarantees a big day out! RESTAURANT RESERVATIONS SHOULD BE MADE DIRECTLY WITH OWLERTON STADIUM on 0114 234 3074 - This is beginning to fill up so don't delay - it is likely to be booked up on the day Provisional Schedule of events: 12.30pm Heat 1 V8 Stock Cars 12.50pm Heat 1 BriSCA F1 Stock Cars 1.10pm Heat 2 V8 Stock Cars 1.35pm Heat 2 BriSCA F1 Stock Cars Championship of the World 1st Semi Final 2.25pm Heat 3 V8 Stock Cars 2.45pm BriSCA F1 Consolation 3.10pm V8 Stock Car Grand Final 3.35pm BriSCA F1 Grand Final 4.00pm V8 Stock Cars GN 4.15pm BriSCA F1 GN Gates Open 11am Prices Adults £22 Concessions £18 Child 5 - 14 £8 Under 5s Free Family Ticket 2 Adults + up to 3 children £50

  3. Incarace press release:- FORGET THE football in France...the REAL European Championships take place at Northampton International Raceway on 16th and 17th July. This massive weekend of racing sees a triple figure entry of cars from all over Europe descend upon the Brafield venue accompanied by a legion of raucous supporters for a terrific celebration of Stock Car racing. Top of the tree are the thunderous BriSCA F1 Stock Cars at their spiritual UK home venue. 84 Tom Harris defends the European title and has recently made a successful comeback after a spell racing in America, winning the Scottish Championship at Cowdenbeath. His main rivals will include 515 Junior Wainman who has had a stunning season so far, winning the EIGHTH British title of his career – an event which nearly saw a Wainman family lockout of the podium – plus sweeping all before him on shale with a succession of final wins and also topping the World Championship qualifying points, while 445 Nigel Green has also been in superb form around Northampton this season. Other main contenders for the European crown will include gold top 318 Rob Speak who will be hoping for a change of fortune after many incidents and mechanical woes this year, National Points champion 4 Dan Johnson, 464 Luke Davidson and 150 Mick Sworder who have all lifted the title before. The ever-potent Dutch challenge meanwhile should be led by H148 Sjeng Smidt and H36 Joep Hendriks to name but two, while 518 Stuart Shevill Jnr and 388 Paul Ford will represent Scotland. Saturday night also features two very special additional trophies to be contested. The F1s will contest the annual Trust Fund race with a magnificent solid silver stock car replica as the trophy which 388 Paul Ford defends.
  4. It's the UK Speed Weekend! This is the UK Championship for the Saloons and F2s (I think?) - it's two standard meetings for F1s, not a championship. F2 driver and Lee Fairhurst's much better half, Jacklyn Ellis, has announced that she will be racing both days in a Mat Newson car.
  5. The first Saturday of the month means Coventry! This time, it's the Ministox and the UK Modifieds supporting the F1s.
  6. Startrax have released the following:- 2016 BriSCA F1 NORTH OF THE BORDER! The RACEWALL, Cowdenbeath - Saturday 25th June Sunday 5pm LOCHGELLY RACEWAY - Sunday 26th June 12.30pm Startrax and Spedeworth / Incarace in collaboration with GMP and Hardie Race Promotions have once again collaborated to bring the BriSCA Formula Ones back to Scotland as part of a commitment to try and create a biennial visit appreciating the huge welcome and support the sport enjoys North of the Border, and as a tribute to the Scottish race fans who regularly travel South to see the formula. Visiting Scotland has always been something "special" for BriSCA fans and drivers, and 2016 is expected to be no different, indeed indications are that numbers will increase in terms of F1 drivers over 2014. The contrast of venues adds to the intrigue, with the high octane and gladiatorial atmosphere of the cauldron of passion that is the Racewall to the stunning and superb modern oval racing facility created by HRP at Lochgelly and track dynamics with superb viewing and track side parking. Saturday Night Thunder at The Racewall Cowdenbeath sees an explosive BriSCA package and Startrax have worked hard with GMP to bring National Saloons on board with National Ministox and BriSCA F2 Stock Cars to ensure a fantastic and unforgettable night at the Racewall, with afternoon entertainment provided with the StoxKarts! Saturday has a full house BriSCA format and we thank GMP for their co-operation. The atmosphere on its night at Cowdenbeath is unrivalled and Fife is going to rock! BriSCA F1 wise sees the traditional and coveted Scottish Championship title decided, as well as World Championship Qualification points are stake, even more vital as we get to the stage where every point counts! After meeting, all roads head the short way to HRP's constantly improving and hugely impressive modern facility at Lochgelly Raceway for a fantastic "after meeting party", where drivers can park up and simply enjoy the late night bar and have excellent facilities Sunday morning together with facilities for repairs. Day two sees Sunday's main event action at Lochgelly Raceway, and gets underway at 12.30pm with BriSCA F1 and again, a vital World Qualifier, together with Spedeworth's extremely lively 1300cc Saloons, National Ministox, and StoxKarts Don't forget that the party starts for early visitors at Lochgelly on the Friday at 7pm with a race meeting, and of course you may park there and enjoy the facilities before going to Cowdenbeath. It is a credit that four promotions have combined to create this weekend once again and make it happen. 10. The last 2016 World Qualifying Round on shale, plus F2, Ministox and Bangers. First race 4pm, F1s from 4.30pm. BriSCA F1 ace Mick Sworder heads an expected all star line up at Manchester's Belle Vue Greyhound Stadium. The Cambridgeshire ace has been beset with transport issues but declares himself ready for Holiday Monday's Kirkmanshulme Lane clash of the Titans. The line up includes top aces Rob Speak and Frankie Wainman Junior among an anticipated big line up of stars for this last World Qualifier on shale. There are currently 44 F2s and 30 Ministox booked in already.
  11. F1 plus 2L Stock Cars and Junior Bangers Start time 5.30pm Advance discount tickets available from Trackstar's Track Shop From Trackstar: Can Wainman take a grand hat trick on May 28? BriSCA F1 Stock Car superstar 515 Frankie Wainman Jnr will be looking to enter the history books on Saturday 28 May by becoming the first driver to have ever claimed a hat trick of F1 finals in successive meetings. Wainman debuted a new car at our opening meeting which stormed to a heat and final double and he then repeated his final success on 30 April when he took the flag in a breathtaking race where he survived several big hits in the process! No driver has ever won three King's Lynn finals in succession before and there is a very good chance that Frank could enter the history books come 28 May by being the first driver to do so. In the past 288 Simon Panton won both finals at a speedweekend in 2004 before 380 Steve Cayzer won the last final of 2004 and the first of 2005 and 55 Craig Finnikin twice got a brace of final wins in both 2010 and 2012 but in the history of F1 racing at King's Lynn, which can trace its origins back to 1955 when Dereham's Bob Reeve won the first ever final to take place at Saddlebow Road, no driver has ever claimed a hat trick of wins. If Frankie can enter the history books on 28 May he will receive a hat trick winners bonus which will take his final winner's purse up to £1000! Will Wainman be enjoying grand success and making history - only one way to find out on 28 May!! Booking list later in the week.

  17. F1 plus National Hot Rods & Superstox Start time 6.30pm IT’S NOT often the BriSCA F1 Stock Cars and National Hot Rods appear on the same bill, but this rare treat is in store at Northampton International Raceway on Saturday April 23rd. The BriSCA F1s are in rude health with huge car turnouts everywhere so far in 2016 and last weekend contested a World Qualifying double header, silver top 4 Dan Johnson dominating the Final at Birmingham before on Sunday there were scenes of delirium as the great entertainer 45 Nigel Harrhy held his nerve to win his first ever Final at Hednesford, only for his car to fail a weight check handing 12 Michael Scriven the spoils. Other salient moments included a first ever win for 555 Frankie Wainman Jnr Jnr in the Birmingham Grand National, a comeback win for 84 Tom Harris at Hednesford, a new lap record at the Staffordshire venue for 445 Nigel Green plus wins for white tops 24 Mark Adkins and 283 Alex Wass at Wheels as some of the superstars struggled. World Champion 318 Rob Speak in particular had a disappointing weekend and will be eager to bounce back. The rumbling thunder of the F1 pack will be countered perfectly by the high-revving wail of the National Hot Rods, contesting their latest World Series England round. The category recently staged its European Championship up at Lochgelly in Scotland and 162 Carl Waller-Barratt took the spoils for his first major title in the sport, and he won the last meeting staged at Northampton on Good Friday so will be among the favourites here. 491 Colin Smith is also a Northampton track specialist while 3 Steve Dudman has been pulling in good results since his return to racing after a break of some 20 years, but the man everyone will be watching will be 304 Danny Fiske after a string of wins in recent World Series rounds. Booking list to follow.

World Champion 318 Rob Speak and National Points title holder 4 Dan Johnson will head the entry but there will be hordes of challengers to the champions including local stars the Neachell family, the Wainmans including 515 Frankie Wainman Jnr who has been winning everything on shale so far this season and will seamlessly switch to tarmac as always, while 212 Danny Wainman captured the Under-25 Championship at Wheels in a wet November last year. 21 Mark Gilbank took the first Coventry final of the year last time out and has gone well at Birmingham in the past, while 231 Daniel van Spijker recorded the first tarmac final win of the year at Skegness on Good Friday for just reward for his travelling efforts from the Netherlands every week. All the star names will be present in pursuit of places for the semi-finals in the summer and a place on the coveted grid at Coventry Stadium in September. From the Startrax website Let Startrax entertain you this Easter Holiday weekend with 2 great explosive events as BriSCA Stock Car Racing roars back for a new season We kick off the weekend at Chesterton Stadium, Newcastle Under Lyme near STOKE.
