  1. I can not remember any Speedworth formula running on Brisca tracks at that time of the day but I generally am wrong!
The Superstox and F2s raced at Wisbech at the Howard Cole memorial meeting and think this was the first time there was adjoining of the two major opponents

Mr and Mrs Flags could well shine some light on this as it was there local haunt

  2. Thanks Steve for your additional information  this picture is haunting me as to what stadium this was taken at . Neil how did you come by this picture? Colin Casserly your wealth of experience might well unlock the key to a lot of questions please help.

Bomber's first name was Keith and he raced as #199. Here's a picture (not mine) and if that's him in the drivers seat, he does look like a large chap. I'm assuming his sponsor is THE Fred Mitchell?? The picture looks to be the correct period as we can see Hotstox #12 Sion Poyser in the background. What colour is Bomber's roof in this pic....looks gold to me?? but I know little of the Spedeworth V8's/F1's other than their couple of hook ups with the Hotstox.

That’s the fellow as you can see the cab is full and always seemed to be on the wrong side of a hiding but always came back for more what track was this picture taken at?

  4. Yes I remember the V8/ Hotstox/ Speedworth F1 meeting , I think this was the first time that there was a joining of the ways after the big break.Funny how things stick in your mind but I always remember a Londoner called “Bomber Wells “ never knew his proper name but he was a big bloke that weighed more than the car! I think that the other CC could throw some light on this from his Scotia days. Happy days of over 30 years ago at the South Brink.

Frank said last week that he probably wouldn’t be racing. Tar car in bits and Phoebe not fussed.

must be the first Wainman free meeting in years.

Think your right  , the factor bods will tell us the last time We had a Wainman free meeting it’s been a long long time possibly longer than I care to think off.

As this is my local track & I was there despite all the problems we have in this mad World. I always like to check the results when I get the chance. Thank you very much to ALL concerned. It's been a long lay off & we all welcome you back.

Yes the service you provide for the love of the sport is outstanding but I must take Old King Cole to task As his local track as the crow flies is Skegness 😂🤣😂 so get your wellies on old mate for next week as it’s a wet walk/swim. Nice to see the old fool after a long five month break and yes he looks better with a mask on !

Thanks to Crispin Rosevear and the AUtospeed promotion, for 2 fantastic days of racing. I really like both St DAY and Smeatharpe.

And my favourite driver Jon Palmer won both finals, superb.  Harley Burns surprised me big time, with very mature drives when under pressure.

a shame that Charlie Guinchard,s run of bad luck continues, but he still gave Gilbert and Wrench both a good walloping.

Totally agree with you Smeatharpe is a very underrated venue and would love to see the F1s around this track. The Brisca ministox are down there next month for two days of racing and I am hoping to be there.

Crispin works wonders down there for F2s and the 2 Ltr saloons
