  13. Gala Live Streaming Tomorrow sees the BriSCA F1’s out for the final time this season at the annual Gala Night before the long winter sets in. We have plenty of drivers racing throughout the night which is being kicked off by the BTCC drivers which also comes on the back of some excellent publicity in the form of Top Gear last weekend. Following the BTCC race comes the Under 25’s Championship, a true fans championship due to the fundraising which takes place to provide the younger drivers a chance at taking some serious prize money home. Phoebe Wainman-Hawkins has been doing a sterling job in the fundraising so far and there is still time to get donations to her directly or via the BriSCA F1 Under 25’s Championship Facebook page. The rest of the evening will feature new drivers as well as returning drivers to the sport. BriSCA F2 and National Ministox also feature at the meeting. BriSCA F2 World Final hosts Nutts Corner are also supporting this event. An action packed night is expected and there’s nothing like being there in person to witness events unfold but for those who simply cannot be there, we are delighted to confirm that an official live stream will be available via the link below at a cost of £9.99: https://www.247.tv/gaa/247 The meeting information can be found via the link below: https://briscaf1.com/2022/11/16/2022-bmb-gala-night-saturday-19th-november-5pm-skegness-raceway-preview/

  16. 2022 BMB GALA NIGHT Saturday 19th November 5.pm SKEGNESS RACEWAY This is it! The final chequered flag to round out what has been a great season for BriSCA Stock Car Racing! The Champions have been decided and we move to Gala Night for a high octane 'end of season fun night' originated over a decade ago at Birmingham Wheels and, post pandemic was hosted with huge success, at SKEG VEGAS last November. This event traditionally sees a number of new and old faces, usually out in different cars and 2023 is not different. However, thanks to the efforts of Neil Randon, Matt James and others we go into Top Gear as we welcome 11 of the top names from the BTCC who will be competing in a pre event ' Clash' in BriSCA F1's as part of a high octane evening at 4.40.pm. It is a great addition to welcome these well known BTCC stars, and hopefully something that can grow between the two formulae. As ever, the event again, is well supported and, at the time of writing, 41 BriSCA F1's are entered, 53 BriSCA F2's and 44 National Ministox and, again we welcome some debutees. Gordon Moodie returns to Skegness to defend his 2021 Gala Night Championship title but faces formidable competition with several top names from Mainland Europe as part of the 53 car entry thus far. Kyle Gray is also on hand to attempt to defend his 2021 win but again, faces credible competition for the John Swift Memorial Gala Night Final, the last F1 race of 2022 and F2! The National Ministox grid 44 cars with no less than 12 'new drivers' as part of their entry! Whilst a fun night, it becomes quite competitive with the 2022 BriSCA F1 Under 25's race which has become a somewhat coveted title and thanks to Phoebe Wainman Hawkins, has raised approaching £4000 in sponsorship / parts - well worth participating in! Add to that the F1 Gala Final and F2 Gala Championship, some BTCC fun and hopefully some decent weather - and that proceeds benefit the sport, we hope you will support this 'end of season' tradition! Gates open at 2.pm - Payment by cash or card accepted - Plenty of food and drink facilities, meet the stars, practice 2.30 - 4.30.pm - BTCC race 4.40.pm Meeting proper starts 5.pm FULL ENTRY LISTS WILL BE ISSUED 7.pm tonight and watch out for a further announcement 7.pm tomorrow!!!
  17. Please note this meeting is being promoted by the BriSCA Management Board BriSCA F1, BriSCA F2 and National Ministox, and premeeting BTCC drivers race BriSCA F1 Stock Cars AS SEEN ON TOP GEAR BBC 1 Flushed with the enthusiasm from 'our' Freddie on Top Gear Sunday and a fantastic feature on the sport, the BMB presents the 2022 traditional 'end of season BIG GO SHOW! GALA NIGHT - BOOKINGS STILL OPEN A no nonsense end of season great night out at the funcoasts iconic 'Skeg Vegas'! Skegness has enjoyed an acclaimed and stellar year of action and the BriSCA end of season event should prove no different! Sun, Sea, Skegness and Stock Car Racing - a perfect combo and a night where you can join the stars and get up close to the cars and create memories with a pit area 'walkabout' The night features a great 14 race programme with, as of Monday 14th approaching mid 30's BriSCA F1 cars, mid forties grids for BriSCA F2 and National Ministox. Gates open at 2.pm for spectators and, plenty going in with practice for all formulae up to 4.30.pm and then Pre event, we have something completely different as we welcome many of the top names from the British Tour Car Championship for a special 'clash' of the tin top titans as they aim to take in the full contact and sensory vibes of BriSCA F1 Stock Car racing, see Matt James preview below. BriSCA F1 wise! The main feature of the night will as usual be the established Under 25's Championship which again is well supported and a 'must win' for the CV and never disappoints before we move on to a 2/3rds format BriSCA F1 session which ends the season with the F1 Gala Night Grand Final to round off what has been a great season. Legendary driver and now promoter of Skeg Vegas, Rob Speak returns to the track for - and in his words 'some fun' and undoubtedly will be in the mix. Hot on the heels of Freddie behind the wheel of an F1 - A BriSCA Warm welcome to BTCC drivers Matt James writes... Paul O’Neill has a lot to answer for. I know that is a very general statement that could relate to anything in his life but, over the last couple of weeks, he has put himself right in the firing line with some tweets – and now he has literally put himself in the firing line… The ITV4 British Touring Car Championship pundit and commentator (and former BTCC race winner) was bowled over by a recent trip to a BriSCA F1 meeting. He really shouldn’t have been: I have been telling the former Motorsport News track tester about the appeal of short oval racing for years. Indeed, we once went to Wimbledon Stadium to watch some close-quarter action. He turned to me and said: “Mate, this is like prison rules…” After his recent trip to King’s Lynn to watch BriSCA F1 with his pal Ryan Bensley, O’Neill (as is his hobby) took to social media to share his admiration for the sport and its drivers. The snowball started gathering momentum there. A few social media replies and some cheeky text messages later and we have the first BriSCA F1 Invitational BTCC race, which will take place at Skegness on Saturday evening. Huge credit must go to the BriSCA F1 fraternity, and particularly to BriSCA F1 racer Paul Hines. Regular drivers are willingly giving up their machines to stars of the British Touring Car Championship to put on a demonstration race ahead of the Gala Night at the Lincolnshire track (I use the word ‘demonstration’ advisedly). Former MN editor, BriSCA F1 nut and author Neil Randon has generously given up his time too to help make this happen. This Saturday night, the stars will assemble in Skegness. Anyone who has ever tried to organise racing drivers to get to a certain point at a certain time knows full well that it is usually like trying to herd cats. But, this time, there has been a genuine willingness to make this happen from all involved and, dare I say it, a keenness to get a few scores settled. Who would pitch five-time 2022 race winner Josh Cook against the Jack Sears Trophy champion Bobby Thompson, for example? Who would let the hugely competitive Aiden Moffat loose up against Dan Rowbottom? Would Dexter Patterson, Carl Boardley and Dan Welch have a score to settle with Rick Parfitt? And what drama can Ricky Collard and Ryan Bensley himself cause? I have been lucky enough to have been part of a WhatsApp group to get the ball rolling between the drivers and the organisers, and the banter between the competitors has been hilarious. I won’t spill any secrets but, if I was Paul O’Neill, I would be booking the next week off work to recover. I hope he knows a chiropractor. What this whole event is about is trying to tell the wider world just how good BriSCA F1 stock car racing is. It can seem like an anathema to those who regularly follow the over-regulated world of circuit racing. Contact (within limits) is allowed in BriSCA F1, and it is a tactic that many of the leading drivers have down to a fine art. But it misses the point: there is huge skill in controlling a 700bhp V8 monster around such tight confines, knowing all the time that a rival who is close behind could follow you in (ie: use his bumper to get you out of the way) at any time. It is like a high-powered, gorgeous-sounding, octane-fuelled game of chess. The BTCC happens 10 times a year. BriSCA F1 stock cars are performing virtually every weekend, and most probably within easy reach… It is not a simple form of motorsport to master and the regulars are at the very top of their games. Our BTCC invitational drivers are, however, not. Who will be the bravest? Who will be out to make their mark? It doesn’t really matter: all of them will climb out of the cars with a huge smile on their faces and, hopefully, those who are watching will realise just what a great sport BriSCA F1 is. That is a win for everyone. Matt James – Editor, Motorsport News
