Anyone remember the username The Sage , it had a box of Paxo stuffing as the avatar , that was my father in law Les , gone now unfortunately, he would come on stoxnet just to wind everyone up , I was spannering for Kev Smith at the time , Les took great delight in moaning about Kevs antics on stoxnet , tongue in cheek , and setting everyone off ! He was a bit of a AUTOMATICALLY DELETED WORD at times was Les .
Before that I remember phoning stoxline for meeting results, 10 minutes of Barber waffling just to get the results .Mind it was my parents phone bill so didnt bother me !
PS :youre not bad at this writing lark Mr H
i would also say he was one of the pioneers of getting stock cars on the internet
definitely one of the unsung heroes of the sport

is the race order correct?

good stuff but hard to read
any chance of making the letters bigger?

what's negative is the bloke moaning about the car numbers and saying he wont miss it
no need

go and support the tracks while you still can
when theyre gone they wont be coming back
or stay at home if you really dont want to
but please keep the negative thoughts to yourself
they dont do any good

Boxing Day is always Dec 26th even if its weekend
Was once in a big dispute at work about overtime when working over Christmas
Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day are bank holidays unless they are at the weekend, when the bank holiday is moved to the next weekday
So if Christmas Day is Satrday then Dec 27th and 28th are bank Holidays. Not normal working days0 -
trackstar have already said its an advisory referendum
they are doing what they are really good at. getting people talking about it and drumming up interest

saloons are usually good but it would be nice to have a just f1 meeting with loads of cars 8 9 10 races
just once every few years
i think that would make it a special occasion instead of being a normal meeting with a wf race in the middle of it
0 -
I thought the trouble with the saloons at the skeg world final this year was that they were better than the f1s!!!

the dutch will probably be over anyway to race on the friday and the sunday
either there will be a load parked up in the pits on saturday cos they didnt get a booking
or you have to turf them out
saloons and dutch on friday
just f1 on saturday
for me

Nice to see Incarace not charging the £1 shootout round premium charged by other promoters.
Maybe they forgot its a shoot out and they'll put the price up now

Great article about Peter, but
"I considered giving Stoke a try, but I know i don’t want the risk of causing damage against the wire rope fence."

pity a few have been turned down for bookings, another 2 or 3 wouldnt have made much difference

this is just silly
one thing asking people not to bring moutains of food with them but a note from a doctor if you want something apart from a sarnie and some fruit?
doctors are already plenty busy enough and now theyre going to get people going to see them about a letter so they can take their own food to a stock car meeting
0 -
theyve been saying this for years about food and drink at a lot of tracks not just skegness so its not a new thing
just take a reasonable amount of food instead of enough to feed an army and you will be fine
i agree that the soft drinks thing is confusing though

sorry to have to disagree Nige but I dont think his age or how long he has been racing should have anything to do with it
if fwj or tom harris had done that start and been docked places and then people objected I really dont think would it have been changed
it should be the same rules for everyone

well done to finn but how embarrasing for the officals. lots of people saying he went too early, in fact i don't think anybody has said he DIDNT jump the start, and more importantly a video clearly shows it. the rules were applied correctly on the night and he was docked places
be very interesting to hear the offical explanation of why the decision has been reversed

thought it was called the uk open?

Just want to say Twenty quid to get in fine. They know a fairly large crowd will turn up so they want a fair return so will charge for Children.
Whatever they try and do people will moan.
New Stadium for F1 so go and enjoy. If you do not agree sit in and watch Ant & Dec !!!!!!
I think you might have missed the point mate. The moaning is cos the price for some kids is a lot LOT more than other places.
The big worry is that it turns out like the Ipswich world final and all those empty seats because the prices were too high. And then spedeworth say no more f1 cos it doesnt bring the crowds!

Cant remember people complaining when cov was £20 to get in
I dont think even the world finals at Cov cost £20 for a 15 year old?
that's what the real problem is. when it's too expensive to take their kids, they just won't go at all and find something else to spend their time and money on, and before you know it, stock car racing is just something that they used to do years ago.

Maybe the advert should be the other way round? F2 BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIP in big letters and then PLUS F1 in smaller letters underneath
Doesn't affect me but I think charging full price for a 15 year old is a bit much. A family with a couple of teenagers is looking at a very expensive meeting.

Dont think I ever went to a meeting on Boxing Day
Great stuff though , I love these posts
And I agree about Mick noden

How long has Phoebe Wainman been in F1? Will she be the next Jayne Beane I wonder?
she done a few meetings already in different cars. Matt Newson hire car, Carl Hawkins car and i think FWJs car at the last Cov last year
the 195 car was loaded into FWJ truck at Belle vue last week so maybe she'll be in that?

it really does need a meeting on the sunday
for a lot of people it's a very long way to go just for one meeting
