  3. IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR OUR RESIDENTS & NEIGHBOURS AROUND ODSAL STADIUM .

Please share around the area - also sent to ward councillors and EHO

A notice to attendees, we welcome you to Bradford and this diverse City. we are a motorsport within a community and we ask you at all times please to consider our residents amenity - without their co-operation and support, there would be no motorsport at Odsal - so, please be respectful, park sensibly, be respectful when arriving a departing, PLEASE dispose o your litter appropriately and not on the streets - It is up to us to maintain our relationship for long term and protect the future of Odsal as a major event venue.

    Good morning,

We are the event organisers at Odsal Stadium and thank you for your support, investment has been significant to reopen this iconic venue and ourselves [Startrax ] together with the RFL and Bradford Bulls continue to work hard to restore the pride in this major event venue and develop it for something the City may be proud of as well as hopefully attracting many people as it develops into the City to enjoy it's vibrant culture, diversity and hospitality and incremental income - and assist in any way backing Bradford's bid for City of Culture.

Our objective as Motorsport promoters is to minimise disruption and protect amenity for our neighbours, they are our priority as this has to be a partnership of tolerance both sides and since we opened on 22nd May, whilst there has and continues a steep learning curve, we have introduced our own 'restrictions' and 'curfews' where we can to that end. We were the event organisers for motorsport when it ceased in 1997 for Superdome and, at the time were promised a return two years later. It has taken 25 years of passion and pride to restore the venue and pride in the City and what has to offer.

Below to keep all informed, is a resume of the World Stock Car Championships to keep you informed and we request, please, that this may be put up on your social media feeds and residents pages as we have no access to those by means of communication and as to what is happening.

Again, we thank you for your support and the residents and people of Bradford, enthusiasm locally to date has been excellent and well received

    Kind regards

Steve & Jackie Rees - event promoters ODSAL STADIUM

WORLD STOCK CAR CHAMPIONSHIP -ODSAL STADIUM 10th & 11th September

This weekend sees the World Championship Stock Car Final at Odsal Stadium and felt it important to communicate with our local residents as to exactly what will be happening over the two days to keep you informed.

Many of you will be aware of stock car racing, many of you will be new, the sport has at various periods existed at Odsal since 1954. As the event organiser who last operated Odsal in 1997, we have passionately worked for a quarter of a century to return the sport. We are passionate about Odsal and the City and making it a venue to be proud of and bring economic benefit. It has also by sharing the facility enabled the Bulls to come home.

Since opening in May, we are very conscious of supporting our residents and minimising disruption and as we move forward we continue to 'learn' and react. We understand and motorsport is not everyones cup of tea and for us and integrity about how we work together. We already have self imposed restrictions upon ourselves noise wise as to when vehicles may be unloaded, start and finish times and noise and egress.

The purpose of this message is to inform the coming weekends activities:

On Friday we have a 'warm up' event which we expect to attract 1500 - 1800 people, there will be no engine noise before 5.pm, racing will start at 6.pm and we aim to be finished at 9.30 - 10.pm.

On Saturday, gates will open for spectators at 3.pm, at 3.30.pm for around 30 minutes, we have 'timed laps' for Mainland Europe entrants, comprising 10 cars doing two timed laps to determine positions on the World Championship grid. Due to Covid and travel restrictions and many visitors unable to travel from Mainland Europe and elsewhere due to isolation etc upon return, we expect approximately 6000, earlier events this year typically have been 4000.

We have made additional arrangements for extra parking at RICHARD DUNNE in and around the stadium and we will continue as we have since May communicating with attendees about where to park. We also have stewards around the Northern View area

Saturday is 'main' event day with the big World Championship race - the event starts at 5.30.pm with 8 races of around 6 minutes, the main event, the BriSCA F1 Championship of the World will take place around 7.15.pm. As part of the presentation, we will have a short burst of 'fireworks' - around 20 seconds whilst the cars are on their 'rolling lap' and upon conclusion of the race a short burst as the chequered flag drops. If all goes according plan will all be done and dusted by 8.pm unless any major stoppage. Whilst we always aim to finish by around 9.30 - 10 latest, and our previous events on 30th August, 9,25,pm, August 28th 9.21.pm , July 31st, 9.05.pm July 17th 9.29.pm and June 12th 8.35.pm - we strive to reduce the time to ease things, With a big championship and what is at stake, if things go wrong, we beg your patience in imposing our own curfew time on this event of 10.20.pm - we will obviously still be working to finish between 9.30 and 10, but this event is so important.

We are doing everything we can to minimise disruption, a lot of people have booked hotels and will arrive by taxi, camping arrangements are away from the stadium.

We thank you for your support, understanding and patience.

Whilst I am sure Saturday will be a difficult day for us organisationally, I will supply contact details where we can chat /feedback, preferably post event and we can be contacted on 07952 050198 - a text message on the day may be better so I can pick up. Our e-mail address is stevenrees01@btinternet.com

Again, thank you for allowing us and hopefully accepting us as a family activity an welcoming us into your community in recent weeks

    WF 2021 UPDATE!

As you will appreciate, the team have had an exhausting weekend and now, the focus is on putting together the 2021 WF at Odsal Stadium and trying to deliver the best fan experience possible given as a promotional team working in the most uncertain of environments with the Pandemic and, of course the huge uncertainties in welcoming our friends from Holland. It was great to welcome three visitors Saturday and two at Sheffield [ who enjoyed some success! ] Today, we have received a list from our friends from the Netherlands as to whom are planning to attend. Whilst the Saturday night is pretty well bolted together, we are accepting a total of up to 90 F1's, our focus now is on the format for Friday.
No promotional team I am aware of has been hanging on a thread for so long to finalise everything.
We have a number of meetings planned including our friends at the BSCDA in an aim to get everything planned and concluded by Friday - after which we hope to announce the full itinerary over the weekend.

We thank you for your patience.

    Friday 10th September. (6pm)
F1 Overseas Drivers (TBC) plus National Saloons

    Saturday 11th September (5.30pm)
    F1 World Championship Final

It's ALL getting VERY 'real' now - With no World Final staged in 2020 for obvious reasons of the Pandemic, qualifying started in 2019 and the boys [ and girls! ] are ready to go! Some will be anxious that Tom has held that 'gold' for too long now and, befitting the racing we have seen during 2021 World Qualifying, the passion is there!
With regards overseas entries, it was some weeks ago quite evident that our 3 guests from New Zealand and Australia would be casualties of the world situation and travel with regards Covid. The BMB addressed that by increasing UK qualifiers via the two Semis on the 31st July and 7th August with 24 UK qualifiers - AND what a grid!
The last chance Qualifier takes place at SHEFFIELD on 29th August at 12.30.pm and whilst all eyes will be on FWJ grabbing a spot, I think a good many others will have fingers crossed for a 'certain' Mr John Lund who, despite not qualifying via Skegness still acquitted himself well.
With regards Mainland Europe visitors, we are in regular contact with our colleagues and in coming weeks we will have a clearer picture on travel and numbers whereafter, final plans for WF 21 can be completed!
With National Saloons making their debut at ODSAL on Friday 10th as part of WF warm up, it promises a great two days in West Yorkshire.
