After a bit more time with Swedish Google, I found a few things of interest.....
There were 5,000 spectators at this meeting at Junexvallen on 1st May 1955. The winner was Ingvar Alfredsson from Nol.

Graham Brown kindly sent this programme from Kumla. It's from February 1956, and has no British drivers listed. This is the only one he has.
And thanks to the Swedish version of Google for this info :- Kumla Speedway (approx 200km west of Stockholm) introduced stock car racing (which is also 'stock car racing' in Swedish!) in 1955 in an attempt to boost flagging audiences.
So there was racing in Sweden in 1955 and 1956.

There was definitely stock car racing in Dublin in 1954 and 1955, although information is scarce (if anyone's got any results or programmes, please share them
).

Another from the Junexvallen meeting on Sunday 1st May 1955. It's now dark and the floodlights are on. The accompanying info says that home driver Åke Gustafsson has just hit a car from behind so that it ended up on the roof.
