  1. Beware Counterfeit Belts Being Sold Online.

The Motorsport Safety Foundation has found counterfeit safety harnesses labeled as Sabelt, Sparco and Takata brands that can be very dangerous for racers.

The Foundation says the belts are being sold on eBay and Facebook but didn’t give the name of the seller or sellers–they say because possible prosecution is pending.

The team has also released a shocking video showing the ‘catastrophic fail’ of the counterfeit Sparco six-point harness failing in controlled safety test conditions at just 50mph.

The harness failed on several points, indicating that in a real life situation–and under normal use–it could cause death or serious injury.

The Foundation stresses that there are no safety issues with genuine Sparco, Sabelt and Takata harnesses. The issues are only with the counterfeit pieces. To make sure you aren’t taken in by counterfeit products, your best bet is to only buy through an authorized retailer. For example, you can trust that the product sold through Jegs, Summit or other widely recognized retailers are genuine, but beware sellers you’ve never heard of on eBay.

Police in Wales have discovered a counterfeit racing harness operation that sold fake belts branded as Sparco, Sabelt and Takata.

The belts in question were sold through eBay and Facebook, and where possible buyers have been contacted and told to remove the belts from their vehicles immediately. Police officers are working with Sabelt, Sparco and Takata to provide customers with a way of checking whether they have purchased legitimate harnesses. Anyone who believes they may have purchased fake harnesses should contact their local trading standards office as soon as possible.

As tempting as it is to pick up car parts on the cheap, when it comes to equipment like harnesses, saving a few quid really isn’t worth killing yourself for.

  2. Thanks for your review after watching. If I want to see a one camera version I will watch those on youtube, think it was impossible to catch all the action with just one camera. Even Premier Sports didn't catch most of it with so many cameras.

one man filming who knows what he's doing can catch far more than 5 men filming that dont

i much prefer a one camera view from down the straight, with the occasional alternative view. you can follow the race much better around an oval.

Can't argue with that can you.

  7. Oh just one thing does it also allow one to see the huge crowds which used to turn out to watch Brisca F1

Better than that my friend. It transforms the crowd back into the golden age era!!

The first Photo "A" is of a modern day race fan, the second "B" is the very same shot BUT as viewed through the lens of the BBTTFM !

    Apost-587-1275837046_thumb.jpg Bpost-587-1275837100_thumb.jpg

Notice the transformation of the Race fan and the 'extra' crowd appear to fill the background when wearing the BBTTFM.

I stand by the statement that this is the greatest Stock Car Invention of all time : The BriSCA Back To The Future Mask (Mk1)

  8. For Sale: The BriSCA Back To The Future Mask.

For years I have been toiling away in my garden shed striving to produce the greatest Stock Car Invention of all time :

The BriSCA Back To The Future Mask (Mk1)

    post-587-1275463219_thumb.jpg

Simply place the BBTTFM on whilst at a current meeting and you will be whirled back in to time (your vision of the race will) and behold the sight of 25 roll overs per race! White and Yellow tops fencing the Superstars at every opportunity even when 5 (yes 5!) Laps Down!.

And as if that was not enough, hold on cos we got barrels! hundreds of them, see them get punted across the track. It's so realistic, I guarantee you'll be dodging for cover as only you, wearing your BBTTFM will see that Barrell heading over the wires and into the crowd! Did I forget to mention that when wearing the BBTTFM every track will be transformed into Rope And Post!

But that's not all, thanks to a 'Thought delusion' Chip (originally developed by TV companies to make you believe the current TV is good), you'll actually believe that every car out on track cost a whopping 1 and 6 and was sourced at the local scrap yard with NO Race Car Performance Bits. This Chip is so good it'll have you taking off your road car wheels just to get a Stock Car out on track for the GN.

    Don't Delay, Order Today.

Your BriSCA Back To The Future Mask.

  9. Hopefully you will come along Waz as it is a quality entry. As previously stated, as a 1/6th member of the MB will apologise if we have not issued the information and will bring it up tonight - It may be that the info which is readily available has been only circulated to the BSCDA and BriSCA promoters and, as this is `for the good of the sport' as investors so to speak you have every right to know.

Thanks for the reply Steve, as I previously posted it was reassuring to hear that the matter will be raised at the forthcoming MB Meeting.

I for one like to know how much has been raised in total from any fund raising appeal that I contribute to be that the local Boy Scouts group, the Blue Peter annual Appeal (Collect your milk bottle tops - do they still do that?) or Children In Need.

I do believe that having a 'total' for all to see is not only reassuring but also inspiring for the course in question.

All being well I do hope to support the 3rd Gala event - It's just a shame that once again an oversight with a lack of information to the paying fans had dampened my own personal build up of the event.

    Dry Skys on order.

  10. You have raised a valid point however in terms of communication which I will bring up at tomorrows MB meeting.

That is reassuring to hear Steve. I have attended both previous 'gala' meetings and both years I asked myself "well how much did we as fans raise via our entrance fee?" and both years I've failed to find an - easily accessible anyway - answer.

And this has led me to forget about this years 'gala' as I find myself saying what's the point why should I bother.

  11. Booking list looking very good for this meeting. Loons WF is the draw, but healthy list of F1s in support too. :P The Whites/Yellows race will be good if all that lot turn up! Good to see Kevin Shinn booked in, always enjoy seeing him race, and good luck to Adam Bamford on shale in only his second meeting too.

The Whites & Yellows might be the race of the night (for the F1's) - Don't want to be getting there late and missing this one.

I think I'll hang round for the Sunday as well - EVEN with bangers as support  , wash my mouth out

  12. Thanks for the ticket's,

While not my thing it was good to see Silverstone on the Sunday. And it only reinforced my belief = If you want to to see real Motorsort then get you @rse to a BriSCA F1 meeting!

We might very well have our own problems and issues with BriSCA - BSCDA - BMB, But at least we ain't a soulless corporate media slut train!

Enjoy yourself it's later than you think!
