  3. Luke may have withdrown from the semi last year as the WF race was again on shale?. With this years being at Ipswich he may just turn up for the semi in the hope that he gets a decent grid position knowing that he can make progress at Ipswich where it suits his driving skills on tar.

The shale semi potentially has everything going for it and if scores are being settled should be an explosive race.

Also last year Rob and Luke had the same semi final so couldn't share a car like they did at Stoke in 2014.

Not forgetting to be in the Consi race you have to have taken your spot in the semi final to be eligible.

Although those rules have been a little lax in recent years. Remembering 2014 where if you turned up at belle Vue you got a chance at the world final spot.

  4. This is the 4 car one at Coventry. I watched Tony Smith turn his similar sized truck around in the pit exit space with military precision.

His current takes 2 in the truck and one on a trailer.

Funny but I mean it must be tight because the gates are not big n he comes on a artic lorry biggest transport then the others

I think FWJ's 4-car mega-rig was bigger? Watching him park that at BV was almost worth the admission money alone. :D
Never seen that but I bet he'll need that at weekend again with him JJ phoebe n he might have Karl car too

  5. Surely Phoebe will drop one grade. I believe she's SS in V8s so I'd expect red????

As I understand. Once you have raced in f1s the F1 grading takes over based on previous performances. So as Phoebe entered as Red. Then dropped to blue. Her V8 performance makes no difference now as she isn't a "novice" in the sport anymore.

Anyone know the heat points system that was used to determine grid positions? Certainly wasn't the 'normal' meeting points system...grateful if anyone can advise please?

    Leigh.

It was normal(full format) heat points down to 12th place in every heat. Forming the grid for the final.

    Cheers, Daniel, much appreciated :)

    Explanation

    http://f1stockcars.com/points-standings/

11th&12th will get 1 point each.

  7. Just out of interest with only 23 cars starting the big race, are reserves not allowed to be put in to replace qualifiers who drop out or was there only 23 cars left running in total?

From what I understand. 33 cars scored a point in the heats. But 10 cars either loaded up or had damage and were unable to take part.

Not sure how many more were still about after the heats that didn't score a point.

  8.

Someone noted that the F1 Grand National finished at 7:30. Surely that was the FINAL. It went on past that time , again well past 4hrs.

That was me, and I'm sticking with it. Maybe a few minutes later than that. The start times of all races can be found on MyLaps. This particular meeting is here:- https://speedhive.mylaps.com/events/1402203It shows the Final started at 6.34pm and the GN started at 7.25pm. Start time was 3.30pm. Hardly "well past" 4 hours.

    Comparing with other recent meetings....

King's Lynn last Saturday is here:- https://speedhive.mylaps.com/events/1400196Start time 5.15pm, the F1 GN started at 9.21pm. Already over 4 hours before the GN had been run.

Buxton the week before :- https://speedhive.mylaps.com/events/1397004Start time 12.30pm, last race started 5.55pm. That's almost 6 hours.

Grand National finished at 19:39. So 4hrs 9mins of F1 action if we want to be picky. Still a mighty effort for 4 formulas and an extra F1 race added in there.

  9. Ryan will be booking in soon.

Taken from the Harrison motorsport Facebook page.

"The new shale car will be at King's Lynn. We have made all the alterations we can and have everything crossed that the vibration won't be joining us there! Ryan is busy making the finishing touches this week and looking forward to giving it a blast around. See you all there! Larissa"

  10.

Mat was in mark sargents car .(borrowed)

Sarge is not racing at the moment due to his arm/shoulder being out of action.

Pretty sure it's a newson prepped car tho.

Yep, it's a Newson built car but according to Sarge, it's the first Mat has done to this particular design & spec. He certainly seems to like it though! Sarge back with us at the end of May so no doubt Mat will be seeking to make hay in it before then...and from further forward on the grid for 4 weeks or so too (that said, there's only Lynn and BV at the end of May where the surface will fully suit the motor - whether Mat can successfully overhaul any of the 5 drivers above him in the table during that time remains to be seen).

    According to Mark on Facebook.

Mat has now purchased the shale car from Mark.
