  1. Off Track with Chris Cowley (37) Tomorrow night sees the return of our Off Track series for 2021. In the first of a series of interviews we chat to Chris about a number of topics including: The start of his racing career in Ministox followed by his move to V8s and then finally the F1s. His move from running one car to two as he gives his opinion on the subject. His personal life from 2019 onwards. His opportunities at racing in New Zealand. A couple of his funniest stories. Two big talking points of his career which involved John Lund (53) and Tony Smith (ex-91). The hardest drivers he’s raced against. The unveiling of his brand new shale car. A surprise reveal......and more! Stay tuned tomorrow night at 8pm for an excellent start to our 2021 Off Track series.
  2. Our Off Track series returns for 2021 with a number of interviews in the pipeline which includes a few surprises. Although racing has stopped, we certainly haven’t!!
  3. To round off our New Years Day unveiling of the 2021 shale car of Ben Howard (544), photos have been provided from each angle to show the car in all its glory. To view them, follow the link below: https://www.facebook.com/255327137971499/posts/1804192273084970/?d=n Ben would like to thank the following people for all of their help with making this car a reality: Warren Macal Anthony Flanagan Karl Dutton Warren Hunter Stephen Leach Conrad Wilson Phillip Cummings Ricky Wilson Eddison Cortez Willie Peeters Shaun Bowman Ron Kroonder Stuart Smith Cassandra Gill We would also like to thank Ben for providing all the photos and videos and for also allowing us to unveil this car and it’s transformation. We wish Ben the best of luck for the upcoming season.
  4. The BSCDA were delighted to unveil Ben Howard’s 2021 shale car earlier today. It’s been blood, sweat and tears for Howard with the shale car, having done as much of the work on the car as he possibly could due to his love of fixing/fabricating just as much as winning/racing. He hasn’t taken credit for all of the work as he has had help in the background. A full set of photos will be available this evening where he gives special thanks to those that have helped him along the way. This car was in the worst state of the two so he decided to tackle this first whilst he saves his pennies again for the tarmac car. Howard will be racing as much as his time allows in 2021 due to travelling with work as No.1 Mechanic for the Williams F1 team and the COVID situation. This car will be used on both surfaces for the time being as the tarmac car also needs an overhaul. Having raced in F2s and a handful of times in F1, Howard has now taken the leap and will pilot the heavily modified ex-202 car of Henry Hunter which was purchased in December 2019, at the same time as the purchase of a tarmac car from the same stable of cars. Howard has already tasted success having taken victory in the 2018 Gala Night Final in a Mat Newson hire car, picking up the Dave Leonard Memorial Trophy, which followed his third place in his Heat. You can certainly see how much time and effort has gone into transforming the car. We wish Ben the best of luck for 2021 and beyond.

  7. The BSCDA are delighted to unveil a brand new car on behalf of Jake Harrhy (345). 2020 was an unusual year for everyone for a variety of reasons but one thing that was far from unusual was Harrhy’s form, having finished in the top 12 at every meeting attended which included four podium places which meant he ended the points chase in 5th place. Harrhy was also one of four drivers who contested every meeting during 2020. Having spoken to Harrhy during the BSCDA Virtual Awards evening he expressed his desire to compete with the very best in the sport with aspirations to achieve red/superstar grades and beyond. Having these aspirations meant re-evaluating the current equipment at the Harrhy’s disposal and so they set on selling the shale car and some engines and acquiring a new car for the 2021 season. The Harrhy’s very kindly documented the progress over a number of months and have allowed us the exclusive look so sit back, relax and watch 15 minutes of the process to buying a new car. We wish the Harrhy’s all the best for next season and we look forward to bringing you more of this car before the 2021 season gets underway at Sheffield on Sunday 21st March for the rescheduled Chase Finale where Jake lines up on the inside of row 3.

  18. The BSCDA are very excited to launch our newly designed website in association with BriSCA. We wanted to make the new website faster, easier to navigate, more user-friendly and most of all, is completely up to date. As we begin the new season in less than a week's time, the website will begin to gain more information in relation to results and points tables, specifically The Chase for the Rainbow Roof 2020 points table. 19. BriSCA F1 'Is back for 2020' with a limited series of eleven events! These have been difficult and tragic times however, BriSCA, BMB and BSCDA are delighted to return with selected events during the late Summer and Autumn with our fans enabling our sport to move towards towards some form a normality. 2020 is designed to be purely for 'fun' with all major championships deferred until the 2021 season. However, the BMB have put together a unique and fitting mini series designed to create some inertia, competition and fun whilst celebrating and thanking our frontline workers that have supported us beyond the call of duty throughout the most difficult times. The idea has been put together with Commander David Crosby and race fans and whilst details are still being finalised. however, the intent is to include a fund raising element across the series so we as BriSCA F1 can say our own 'thank you' to worthy support charities. The series will be titled 'The Chase 2020 - BriSCA F1 supporting our frontline workers.' Plans are being formulated for the series to reward ALL grades and, an idea under discussion is for the series winner to earn the right to wear a unique Rainbow Roof colour in celebration of the series which will be [hopefully] unique and staged perhaps only once ever. Further details of the series will be announced in the next 14 days.
