THE MAIN EVENT! The BIG BriSCA BLOCKBUSTER! STOCKCARMANIA 2011!

    Belle Vue Greyhound Stadium,

    Kirkmanshulme Lane,

    Gorton, Manchester M18 7BA

    Sunday 26th june @ 1.30.PM [ FIRST V8 RACE AT 1.PM ]

THE 2011 BriSCA F2 BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIP

Second only in stature to the Championship of the World, the legendary BRITISH is a Championship coveted by drivers and a title steeped in history with many previous illustrious winners.

At the time of writing in excess of 60 cars have entered therefore ensuring a maximum entry and full grIds of 30ish cars in each of the gruelling five Championship Qualification heats where every driver has to race in three out of five heats to make the cut and be one of the top 30 on the BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIP grid!

With the plentora of tracks in the BriSCA portfolio and many drivers restricting their raacing season to tarmac this major title has attracted an ecclectic mix of drivers from all parts of the UK.

Out of the UK's current star grade drivers twenty of the very best have confirmed their entry!

The battle for supremacy in National points brings together Gordon Moodie from Fife Scotland against arch combatant Chris Bradbury from Berkshire where currently a cigarette paper seperates them in points and whilst Bradbury has been dominant Moodie has enjoyted a growing season long consistency and after a turbulent personal period this is a title Moodie would like to win!

However with the same idea is former Lancastrian domiciled World Champion Mickey Brennan, Cambridgshires' top shale hot shots Andrew Palmer and Allen Cooper, teen F2 sensations Jack Aldridge, Billy Webster and 866 Bob Griffin, all three ex Ministox. Add to that former World Champion Barry Goldin, Sam Wagner,Charlie Whitfield,Dave Pannett and `dangerous Brian Shadbolt plus a 'raiding' from Scotland including the aforementioned Moodie plus former World Champion Chris Burgoyne and Paul Ford together with West Country ace Neil Hooper the scene is set for an epic afternoon and one where BriSCA F1 actually becomes the support Formula!! There is an added surprise, in that reigning British Champion, a certain #38 Dave Polley has confirmed he will be defending his title after switching for 2011 to National Hot Rods - that will certainly add an explosive ingredient to the mix as there are doubtless a few old scores to settle!

Such is the potential of this event it is rare F1 would ever be envisaged as support, particularly with the very last World Championship Qualifer of the season and vital points at stake indicitively producing the biggest grid of the heavy horsepower boys in some years! BriSCA F1 will be an excellent compliment to F2's `big day out in Manchester!'

Recently crowned British Champion Paul Harrison makes a very rare visit and is joined by top talent including distant traveller Matt Newson, the iconic Wainman brothers, local villain or hero, Stuart Smith, Dan Johnson, Craig Finnikin, Neachell brothers and many more. Reigning World Champion Andrew Smith, sidelined since his `big crash' and excruciating rib injuries is desperate to make the grid subject to fitness - all adding up to explosive F1 action!

What traditionally would be just F1 and F2 includes the impressive V8 Hot Stox `shoehorned' into the programme - We make no apologies for this added bonus as they have been delivering superalative action in 2011 and in fairness to the race division, they have not raced at Belle Vue for a couple of years and this is the only viable opportunity for drivers to get some Kirky Lane experience before their World title is contested at Belle Vue in September! An added `complimentary' bonus at no extra charge! Please note V8's will appear 30 minutes ahead of the `official' start time at 1.pm, conscious of timings for our longer distance travellers, they have their second heat midway through the programme and for those who do need to make that longer trip back home, their final race will be the last event of the day!

    It's Manchester's BIG BriSCA BLOCKBUSTER!

Admission is simply pay [ cash] on the gate from 11.45.am - or you can pre order tickets, gain a free event magazine and fastrack/earlier admission plus reserve panoramic view Grandstand seats via paypal and credit or debit card - couldn't be simpler!

    1/4 pages today/tomorrow as follows

    Coventry Evening Telegraph

    Nuneaton

    Metro

    Coventry/Leamington/Warwick.

Would apprecaite feedback by pm as to whether you have seen them / are they effective etc.

Have a great Christmas - to those coming see you for a Festive Monday!

  12. The long range forecast thursday to Monday predicts dry/bright and cold conditions which is perfect for track conditions on Monday 27th.

Further Snow is forecast early wednesday thereafter dry/bright and cold.

The track has a protective covering of snow currently and hard underneath. The snow covering will be left on until the morning of the event and then bladed off - what is important is the track underneath which at present is perfect for oval racing - ironically the last thing we want is a thaw!

    Pit Gates open at 10.15.am

    Turnstiles open at 11.30.am

Advance ticket holders can enter from 11.am. If you want to bag seats inside the bar areas you are strongly advised to get tickets online so you can get in earlier.

The stadium has an undercover 1800 seater stand and plenty of covered accomodation.

  13. 99% - The weather is actually no different to what we had at Belle Vue last year prior to the meetings on the 27th & 28th December.

Snow will protect the track and as last year any remaining can be removed with the grader - tbh dry and very cold is idyllic for track conditions which is what is currently forecast.

Last February we ran Belle Vue at 1.pm with Monster & Truck / Bangers following 6 inches of snow which only abated at 10.am ish!!!

So other than act of god of some description we are very confident.

We have invsted heavily in local advertising some of which went out mid week last week - the bulk this week and Boxing Day.
