  1. If anyone is thinking of going on the Friday to Mildenhall do allow for the roadworks on the A14 near Cambridge Services. Last Friday there was a long tail back in both directions, East bound probably starting a couple of miles after leaving the A1 Southbound. It all appeared to be due to volume of traffic and the fact the lanes have been narrowed. Shouldn't be as bad on the Saturday but still expect delays.

  2. Love it when people say it's hotter in uk than in Spain - then it lasts for around one day !!

Stuart Smith is having the last laugh now, Benidorm is between 12 and 16 degrees hotter than it will be at Belle Vue over the next couple of days

Back to business. Great news that Tom is able to race.

I do hope the other 41 drivers are capable of putting on a show and that we don't have to put all the pressure on Tom to deliver

It's gonna be my first visit to the new Belle Vue since 1998, so i'm hoping this meeting will be top notch.

And please, those in charge of watering, don't make the outside of the track into a soggy mess like was done at Sheffield .

Cars slithering about in mud is not my idea of shale stock car racing

i thank you ......................... rodders out

I don't think you can blame the watering for the outside of the track being wet at Sheffield, that was due to the rain!

  3. Ok, genuine question time. What's Tom doing at Venray?

Last I heard, and it was hearsay not fact, was that the Dutch drivers had joined together and said if he races we don't. Hence a sort of back door ban. Don't think he's raced there since the year Dan Johnson win the World Cup so why the change?

I'm not complaining or saying anything is wrong. Just curious to the facts.

Didn't he also do a meeting there in April?

  4. my voting is based on driver's 4 races, rather than just one

Several drivers gave 100% in all their races, a few gave a bit more on top of that - 4, 84, 220, 175 & 390

For me Frankie didn't give 100% in his 2nd & 3rd heats so i rule him out even though he gave us thee moment of the day in the Final.

I felt sorry for drivers on the outside of the grid in the Final. 16 in particular couldn't get going partly thanks to all the rain, but partly due to 'someone' deciding to add more water before the final, to an already saturated track

    So, by a whisker it's

    D/D 390 (ahead of No 4)

    R/R 7

Watering policy - Minus 5 - ruined the final for many drivers

I think they only watered the inside line before the final. Interestingly the fastest lap all day was Stu smith on lap 19 of the final, 16.201, with Craig Finnikin recording the 2nd fastest of 16.206 on the same lap.

  7. Thanks for posting Jeremy.

Great turnout. Far more for the Friday night than I expected.

For those of us from 'up north', how busy does the M1/M69 get on a Friday evening? can anyone local to Coventry advise?

Need to time my early exit from work on Friday.

M1 south will probably be busy from Sheffield through the roadworks to J28, not normally too bad otherwise unless there is an accident, is always busy northbound though. Not too sure about the M69. I'll be going the same way so hope it isn't too bad.
