Trackstar Racing update – 1st November 2020 Following the Government announcement last night, we would like to confirm that racing is suspended in the National Lockdown and therefore all meetings in November are cancelled. Since we returned trackside, we have been astounded by the support shown to us by all. We run 8 Sundays of hugely popular practise days in early Summer and then returned to racing 1st August. Since then, Trackstar have staged 10 meetings and 1 other in conjunction with Startrax. All bar one meeting has sold out of limited capacity spectator tickets and the remaining meeting was equally, very well supported, most Banger meetings have also been over subscribed with extensive reserve lists of drivers. We are honestly so humbled by the support shown and very, very, grateful to everyone who has supported us since the return, and, helped us remain in operation by adhering to the Covid19 Measures and Guidance at the Stadium. To our incredible staff too, who have equally been supportive and loyal, we thank them for their hard work and dedication to help get the show back on the road. Operating in these times has been very challenging; but with thanks to our local EHO’s, Licencing teams, Local Constabulary and the many other authorities involved in helping us reopen – we thank them for their co-operation, guidance and support. Tickets that were sold for the 7th and 8th November meetings will automatically be refunded – Customers do not need to do anything. There are almost 700 individual orders that need to be gone through; this is a manual process which will take time to work through; please bear with us and Customers will have any ticket purchases refunded to them as soon as we can work through them. Please be aware, depending on your Bank, refunds may take a couple of days to clear. The announcement made suggests a 4 week lockdown, which as mentioned means there will be no racing at King’s Lynn in November. We will leave the 13th and 28th December fixtures as provisionally pencilled in, however we will need to seek guidance, clarity and confirmation closer to the time. A huge thank you to everyone for joining us Saturday night. Certainly a night of two halves where track conditions was superb at the start of the night and rain intensifying by the end making it very difficult for all. Thank you to all for braving the weather and supporting us. A big shout out to the drivers and their teams for working in the conditions to keep the cars on track and putting on some great racing; to all the spectators for coming along, sticking it out on the terraces to the end and to the officials once again for working hard as ever for a slick, efficient meeting. It’s the season finale! The Chase Championship Decider. A Startrax Promotion run in association with Trackstar. 9 rounds done, the points determine the grid for The Chase Championship race – subject to cars/confirmation a last chance race will also run. Craig Finnikin (55) attempts to make history tomorrow night and become the first driver to win three finals in a row at King's Lynn. A number of drivers have come close to getting there: Richard Mason (202) in 1995, Simon Panton (288) in 2004, Steve Cayzer (380) in 2005, Frankie Wainman in 2016 and 2018; also Stuart Smith (390) in 2017. Finnikin himself has twice before done the double, but the triple slipped his grasp in 2010 and 2012. Will it be Craig’s turn this time? We regrettably are unable to offer the “bonus” under current circumstances unfortunately. We apologise to Craig and thank him for his understanding on this matter. The drivers from the Saloons keep lining up to have a go in the BriSCA F1 Stock Cars. This Saturday it’s the turn of Timmy Barnes, a name all too familiar to those in 2L Saloon Stock Cars; he will be joined by 1300 Stock Car World Champion Lee Pearce (23); who’s raced many things on the Short Oval and also in the Mini Challenge series on the circuits. ❗️ Important Covid19 announcement/ operation changes ❗️ All patrons please read: Stock Car Racing continues this Saturday night, as a Covid 19 Secure “Good to Go” business we are able to continue for now thankfully and fixtures are scheduled to go ahead as planned. BUT - we must not be complacent – as each meeting passes we need to be more Covid19 responsible, than ever before. Protect yourselves, protect others, protect racing being able to continue. After each Government update we work in partnership with our local licencing authorities to understand what we need to do in addition to existing policy. We therefore, following the announcement this week, need to introduce further measures in the raceway. - Our curfew is now 10pm and as this is law, there will be no exceptions to this. The Stadium will close at 10pm at the latest. - No bars will be in operation 26th September. We hope this is just a temporary measure due to licencing laws being changed. We will update as soon as we can agree operation logistics with local authorities. As we hope you understand this is a huge revenue loss and not a decision taken lightly. Catering and soft drinks will be served as normal. i.e. no alcohol will be served 26th September. The Premise Alcohol Licence is still valid and therefore no alcohol can be brought inside from outside the arena. - By law, we are now required to display the QR code compatible with the NHS Track and Trace App. You will see this displayed around the Arena; please use this if you have the App. This is in addition to the current Covid19 policies in place: Events are advance ticket only, limited capacity. Face coverings are mandatory at our events in all areas of the Stadium (unless exempt by Government guidance for age, health or disability). If exempt, please bring your Medical exemption card. Phoebe Wainman (211) was one lap away from her maiden F1 Stock Car victory last time at King’s Lynn, finishing second behind World Champion Tom Harris (1). Another second place for Phoebe last weekend at Skegness too, she is fine form and we’re sure it’s not going to be long before she makes history and gets her first F1 win. Will it be this Saturday?
